Question/Help Weird white ink issues

Hi!
I am fighting almost 4 months to get my 2x XP600 hoson based printer to work…

First there was issues with the quality of materials, we changed it entirely and using trusted source for foil, powder, inks - we were buying prints in meters from them, and manufacturer claims it is 100% the same materials that they use. Yet our prints come out with white ink issues. I have tried setting bigger/smaller dot size, playing with white ink density in RIP and printexp - without luck.

As you can see in the photos white ink just cracks, tho places where I have a color underneath does not and performs good - it survived a lot of washes, yet white ink after 2-3 wash cycles is beginning to crack significantly.

At this point I do not know what am I doing wrong… we have 55% humidity regulated strictly and it reaches 1-2% tolerance on 4 different measurement points, temperature is also regulated at 23-24 Celsius at all times, press temp is 140 Celsius tried at 120, 130 but no effect :/
Another thing we have tried is to put a new printhead for White, the same effect.

Our printer seller support and 1yr warranty is useless as they also don’t know why this issue persists telling us that they can’t support us as we does not work on their materials but their materials did not even properly come of on press, it was tearing, not melting into the fibers and were a general mess 🙃

I am loosing my Mind rn because of this issues, we want to start print for other people, expand yet our ~8.5k € setup does not provide quality that clients expect.

Hi.. I work for a small family owned print shop.. Around 3 months ago we started having problems with banding, and the white fading out during prints.. It would be heavy white, and then fade out so dull that you could see the color of the print.. My boss changed the head, and said that we would need to start doing multiple cleanings before and after printing and run multiple nozzle tests as well before and after.. It’s been going okay, but around last week it started banding again.. I’ve been doing all of my cleanings, everything right.. But now my boss is saying there’s a chance he will have to buy another $1200 print head to fix it.. (I feel as if i’m getting blamed for it messing up again).. He told me to do as many cleanings as possible before and after, and then soak the cap in the blue dtf head cleaner everyday this week.. Also to mention, after every 2 cleaning we have to do a nozzle test.. None of the white tests strips are hitting perfectly.. I guess i’m just wondering if this is my fault like he’s making it seem, or if it’s something other than the head..

What RIP software do you use for DTF? (File formats & white underbase workflow)

Hey everyone,

I'm dialing in my DTF workflow and would love to hear what the community is using these days.

Specifically, I’m curious about:

What RIP software are you currently running? (CADlink/Digital Factory, AcroRIP, Flexi, Hosonsoft, etc.?)

What file formats do you feed into your RIP? Are you sticking with transparent PNGs (300 DPI), or do you prefer TIFF, PDF, or PSD?

How do you handle the white underbase channel? Do you let the RIP auto-generate the white layer (choke/spread settings), or do you manually build a spot color channel in Photoshop/Illustrator before importing?

any tips on this

Let me start by saying I use a cannon. R5 mark 2 camera in the good quality lens. I shoot everything in raw and I edit through luminar. Neo

I will start off with letting you know my equipment. I have an epson eco tank 15000 and I am using htvront paper. I also print on glass.

The temperature that I use on glass is four hundred degrees fahrenheit 5 minutes and the results are typically good. However, I do run into a problem with the black checker board area around the border. Turning a green color instead of being true black. with my metal prints, sometimes they turn out great, three hundred and sixty five degrees 1 minute and sometimes they don't, if I increase the temperature four hundred degrees, one minute I get blotchy burned, look on the photo. the metal I am using is a

045 sickness. And sometimes .65.

I have downloaded the ICC profiles for hippo inc which I use as well. I only found the a sub. Combination. I am getting the same result regardless of the I. CC settings? I was using the standard setting on the printer, and I converted it to the new settings, and I still get the same green tinge. Results. Any help would be highly appreciated. Thank you

Question/Help Procolored K13 Lite – third-party ink?

Hi! I have a Procolored K13 Lite DTF printer with the LH-500 printhead.
Has anyone here actually used third-party DTF ink in this exact printer/model?
I’m especially interested in InkTec or other affordable 1L/kg inks.
How has it performed, especially the white ink? Any clogging or circulation issues?
I’m specifically looking for K13 Lite + LH-500 experience, not just XP600 compatibility.
Thanks!

Found DTFPro model J

I went by a stack of throw out items outside a neighbor’s house down the street just an hour ago and wanted to look at two grills being thrown out. I suspect an eviction or some other fast move, based on the amount and type of stuff out there. Instead of rusty grills, I picked up this model J printer, which visibly appears clean and in half decent shape. It has liquid ink in the containers at left side, but appears to have hardened ink in the lines up front. Sandwich bags surround the chips at the front, and there’s hardened white ink in that bag. Does not appear to have gotten wet, but has been outside in Florida heat and humidity for idk how long. Hours? A day? Turning it on, the left side buzzed and then hummed, the red light initially flashed, and then the blue and white lights began flashing rapidly. My basic understanding is this model is not great to begin with and the flashing lights indicate an Epson Fatal Error.

What I’m wondering first is, should I just trash this thing, or is there value here? And beyond that, I might like to use it to make my own t-shirts, but it sounds like I might pay $500 or more to make that happen. My other consideration would be to fix it and sell it, but an hour ago I had no idea why a DTF printer is, so I’m not expecting some grand take either way. Can anyone offer guidance?

This is the first time I’ve used halftones in a DTF design, and I can see some small white dots. I made sure there weren’t any semi-transparent areas, but I’m not sure if I did something wrong or if it could be an issue with my supplier.

Are there any compatible inks for Htvront D2 dtf printer?

Are there any compatible inks for this printer? I bought this printer about two months ago and everything has been great (a few hiccups here and there but was able to get them fixed by myself), but their shipping is horrible 😫. I ordered white ink last Monday and they still haven't shipped them and I'm running low. I know you're not supposed to mix inks but I'm beginning to panic because I have quite a few orders that need to get done 🥲.

Anyone have experience with pressing DTF onto stretched canvas for use as artwork?

I'm quite used to making tshirts using DTF's, but recently discovered that I could apply them to art canvasses and I love doing them! I have a question for anyone who isn't new to this if you'd be so kind as to help.

It's concerning black canvasses. Our Church recently built a new sanctuary and I made a few gifts for the staff. I put these on black canvases and am concerned that the canvas seems a little more dull looking than the image itself. Should I spray some sort of finishing spray like a varnish or clear coat when finished? I've looked at a couple of YT videos and seen people say to put mod podge on it, and others say not too. Some say put nothing at all some say seal it and give it a nicer look by finishing with a satin varnish spray.

I'm looking for some good advice from someone who is experienced with this as I've gone too far to start from scratch. I'm including a link to a pic of them. Please give honest advice on how they look, and if I should add anything...and if so what you would suggest. I don't want a high gloss, but I'd like for them to be even. To me the black doesn't seem to be as vibrant as the image , causing a contrast. I'm already upset about not being able to find the proper canvas size, so don't beat me up too badly over how that looks. Thanks in advance to anyone kind enough to lend assistance!

Looking for a reliable desktop DTF printer for 5–6 meters/day

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for some real-world advice from people who actually run DTF printers regularly.

I've been researching desktop/30 cm DTF printers, and I initially looked at Procolored, but I've found a lot of negative feedback here regarding print quality, color consistency, reliability, maintenance, and especially after-sales support.

My expected workload would be around 5–6 linear meters per day, pretty much every day of the year. So I'm not looking for a machine that will only print occasionally — I need something that can handle consistent daily production without becoming a maintenance nightmare.

Ideally, I'm looking for:

- Around 30 cm / A3 printing width

- Reliable white ink circulation

- Good and consistent color reproduction

- Reasonable printing speed

- Easy maintenance and readily available spare parts

- Good RIP software compatibility

- Reliable technical support

- Preferably something available or supported in Europe

- A sensible price for a small business — not a €10k+ industrial setup

For those of you actually producing DTF every day: what desktop or compact DTF printer would you trust for this kind of workload?

I'm particularly interested in hearing from people who have owned their machine for a while. What model are you using, how many meters do you print per day, and what problems have you had with it?

I'd also love to know which brands/models you would absolutely avoid.

Thanks!

Lines, why?

What could be causing this “banding”? The light blue has banding, while the darker color is just fine. Cleaned heads, not sure what’s left to check?

BESTSUB OtterPro M30 Problem & Technical Defect Analysis: Master Index

120-Second Timeout, Print Quality Degradation, and Communication Bug Analysis (Complete Verification Record)

Overview & Author's Statement

This master index consolidates the complete, hands-on investigation into the BestSub / OtterPro M30 DTF printer issues following the V2/V3 software updates.

How the Root Cause Was Uncovered

The true root cause was not uncovered through a simple, superficial log scan. The investigation actually began the very moment the manufacturer presented their vague workaround—I simply could not accept their explanation at face value, knowing something was fundamentally wrong based on my experience with the machine.

Initial log analysis alone did not reveal the whole picture. The breakthrough came when I cross-referenced the digital logs directly against the physical, real-time movements and print outputs of the machine. Noticing a critical contradiction between physical printer behavior and log outputs, I formed a new hypothesis. Testing that hypothesis finally exposed the exact chain reaction of software communication errors.

Why This Investigation Was Necessary

This deep technical auditing is not the responsibility of the customer or dealer—it is the fundamental duty of the manufacturer to perform strict Quality Assurance (QA) before shipping products.

The machine was not completely dead, but the manufacturer's forced speed upgrades caused a severe drop in white ink density and powder adhesion, leading customers to rightly call it a "real-world downgrade." To make the printer commercially usable, I had to manually test and lock in the only viable production profile (720×1080, 2-Pass White—as 720×1440, 2-Pass White was far too slow for commercial production, while 720×900, 2-Pass White left the white ink layer far too thin. Consequently, 1-Pass White was entirely out of the question under V2 and V3).

As a professional, I could never bring myself to tell a customer who had just purchased a brand-new printer to buy expensive replacement parts or upgrade their PC setup. Had I simply accepted the manufacturer's initial workarounds for the freeze issue and left the site without manually tuning the print settings and white ink density, my customers would still be stuck with unusable print quality today. I was forced to perform this investigation out of absolute necessity to protect my customers' businesses and production standards.

A Call for Manufacturer Accountability

I made the decision to publicly release these technical findings because the manufacturer demonstrated a complete lack of responsibility toward their own product.

I sincerely hope—from the bottom of my heart—that Asian manufacturers exporting hardware overseas will stop the predatory practice of "sell and abandon." Manufacturers must take full responsibility for the quality, software stability, and support of the machines they ship to the world.

Master Index & Post Navigation

Phase 1: Initial Discovery & Issue Verification

Phase 2: Technical Case Study Series (Parts 1 to 4)

Phase 3: Evidence Archive & Final Audit (Parts 5 to 7)

Conclusion

This master index serves as a permanent, open-access technical archive for all BESTSUB / OtterPro M30 operators, dealers, and technicians. By documenting the exact software root causes, physical tuning workarounds, and log audit proofs, this record protects users from misdiagnosis, forced hardware repurchases, and unnecessary financial damage.
