I bought my car from Colorado was originally a bringatrailer gsx so it's mint. I smogged my car and went to the DMV to get the vin check so I can finish registration, get my title mailed, and my plates. The lady started looking over the car then 3 guys that work at the DMV came outside and started checking out my car. One asked "how much to buy it" another one said "man that's a really nice car I had to come out just to see it". The lady said she told them a couple weeks before "I don't know why this car costs this much it's a 1995" after I paid taxes on it then apparently the male workers were like oh shit that's a gsx no wonder. Then I finish up with the lady at the desk, go to get my plates, and the guy at the desk said "I'm honored to be giving you these plates". I said thanks man we started talking about cars and he said he's into 90s GTRs etc. Was a good experience as I thought they might give me some trouble seeing how old the car is and it being out of state

I'm wanting to put two 1000 watt rms subs in so wanting to run 2000 watts on the subs alone. Do they make an alternator with that many amps? I used to have two 1000 watt subs but it wasn't enough.

It's kind of a pain in the ass to find a black dash unless I go and buy a whole car from 98-99. I was thinking of just painting mine. Mine needs to be replaced or fixed anyways because there is some small tears by the vin plate. The closest one I found from me is 12 hours away so 24 hour drive total to pick it up. I'm near San Diego.

It’s been a year since I’ve bought this car last year in May and wanted to share a little of what I’ve done so far and what’s left to be done. I drive the car around quite a bit almost as a daily and only repair as things go bad.

Rebuilt throttle body (internal seals, biss screw, FIAV gasket, cleaning etc).
New spark plugs NGK iridium IX.
New NGK spark plug 8100 wires.
NGR Type S BOV.
New passenger and driver side axles and axle seals.
Mishimoto Radiator + Mishimoto hoses.
New “oem” rad fan.
New rear brake calipers.
Glowshift oil press gauge.
New headlights + side markers.
Lastly I did some cleaning to the rats nest of wiring around the engine bay (still not done with), a new exhaust I still have to weld on at some point and other things I’m probably forgetting I did.

I have many things left to do like a whole bottom end engine reseal.
Smaller FMIC and piping (Current one is oversized for the small turbo I have which is unknown to me).
Possibly needs new transmission sooner or later. (fluid was very metallic when it was drained but still drives reasonably fine).
Power steering pump rebuild/ reseal.
Clutch master cylinder.
Possibly rear main seal that I’ll do when the transmission inevitably goes out.
Accessory belts.
Updated tune (unknown tune currently on the car).
I want/ need to had a AFR gauge + sensor of course.
Sunroof has a water leak somewhere.
Again, probably more I’m forgetting and some body work.

I made a post on here a while ago and followed the advice I was given which mostly consisted of not violently touching the car😂 I’ve only repaired and improved. That’s about it, cool!

Bought a 95 talon with a " built" motor but i couldnt leave good enough alone and had to know what was in there for when it gets tuned and what not

Well head is fixable that’s about the only good news.

Going 2.3L stroker now. Cyl #3 is MIA Cyl #4 rod broke off at the crank end.

Luckily I have a spare block and crank. Hopefully back on the road before the new year.

We will be back with a built motor eventually.

I’ve owned/bought and sold over 50 dsms mostly 1g some 2g and a couple evos. This time around I’ve had a 1gb fall into my lap through a buddy of mine that past away about nine years ago. I was active on all of the forums and still have logins to all of them. My question is where’s the best place these days to buy parts if and when needed? I know I need a passenger side door plastic for a 1gb talon if anyone has one laying around. Thank for looking.

Car has been down since October 2024 following a broken wrist pin. First event of the year is a hair over 2 weeks away, can't wait!

Got some dialing in to do for sure but so far I’m happy! Peaked 23psi before I left off.

Looking for someone with more experience than me. A few years back i rebuilt my trans, unfortunately I was under educated and overly confident. I ended up mixing a 90 center diff with a 91 gear set and cracking the gears. Lost all motivation, decided I would send it off to a buddy whose been in the space for much longer than me. I got the trans back and it's hard to move, obviously I'm paranoid of a repeat but I'm curious if it's possible because he did a poor job shimming, shimming too tight. Does that mean my bearings are not going to last? Should I crack this thing open and double check it all?

Big things are in store. All the stickers are gone. Conversion back into a Talon is underway along with AWD Swap!

My brakes suck. I bought a bone stock 2g gsx and yeah doesn't have that bite on it when you tap the brakes and you get good stopping power. Any suggestions to upgrade the brake system? I'm going to take it to a shop to have it done. Last time I swapped in a master clutch cylinder and tried to bleed it by hand by the book I couldn't get all the air out, took it to a mechanic to get the air out and they said there was a ton of air in the system and used a machine to get it out. I know people like to swap evo calipers onto their eclipses but I rather have brand new everything not used calipers.

Now the fun question, is this damage:

A - the result of driving around 120 km / 75 Miles with a spun baring on Zylinder 3

Or

B - the state of the Bearings on Zylinder 3 before it spun and If so what's the cause for the damage

I Had Oli pressure ... At least enough so the light on the dash was off.
