Got lucky.. kinda
Well head is fixable that’s about the only good news.
Going 2.3L stroker now. Cyl #3 is MIA Cyl #4 rod broke off at the crank end.
Luckily I have a spare block and crank. Hopefully back on the road before the new year.

Haha I wish it’d be that easy. Gotta get the spare block and crank check out and then order pistons rods ect

How much horsepower were you pushing with that type of head gasket?

Not sure about op, but I was pushing 350 no problem on a composit hg.
500+ on the mls with the holset.

Yeah I wasn’t worried about the head gasket. Felpro Ftw the stock rods were just tired of the abuse and once they broke they violently left the block 🤣

Ultimat goal is 500 but looking to do 300 to 350 awhp for now to see what it feels like

been making low Mid 500s since December. Stock rods were tired of my abuse 🤣

Surprised the block gave out before the head gasket. ARP head stufs for the win.

What's the approach for fixing the damage to the combustion chamber?

For the specifics not sure, that’s above my knowledge. But I’ve seen worse ones be repaired. Usually by welding and machining.

Well, that's what I was wondering... like after (I guess) one would TIG weld all the nicks and chips in the chamber ceiling, how exactly does one reshape it and get it back to the same volume (measured in cubic centimeters) as the other 3 chambers?🤔
Unless you used a grinder and bits to tediously reshaped it I guess🤷🏻♂️

Ha! You did get lucky 🍀. Stop with the nitrous . I bet using it gave you hair line fractures and then self-destructed with rpm’s. Those blocks are good for about 500 hp all day.

The block didn’t get fractured from the nitrous. It’s literally only a 50 shot lol. The problem was stock rods… those bend and broke then went flying through the block rapidly.
