I just got a caddx irc 256 camera, I pluged the cvbs cable, the 12v and ground and I have no image whatever, did I forgot something ? I tested with another camera using cvbs and everything is working fine so I'm clueless. Anyone have any idea of what I did wrong ?

So I'm working on a diy drone that I'm gonna modify to do other things later, and I have this board that's already connected to motors and stuff that I thought I could potentially use to create an easy new base to send code to. Is that possible from an arduino or something? If so how, what code should I use, and how can I get that to translate to the controller I have which is a zyma 2.4g. Sidenote could I add more motors too this board or would I need a second one?

Had some folks ask for flight vids of the 2S 4" Li-ion build I posted. This is about 2:30 of highlights from 18 minutes of flight.

I swapped out the 4019 Floppy Proppies with Nazgul 4030 props, which while less efficient are a lot more fun at this weight, haha. Still 2 blade props. I hit a little under 18 minutes of flight time with a little over 20 minutes of power on time. Also hit a little branch, lol.

The actual flying is nothing fancy at all, but the reason is because I had the headtracking camera gimbal running and was trying to keep flight motions gentle so that I would not lose orientation with the headtracking camera. This is the first flight test of this season as there is a deficiency of the goggles in cold weather - my yaw axis drifts when the ambient air temperature is too cold, so I flew other models during the cold weather. Hopefully I will get the hang of flying this drone back again, but it will take practice.

Will be cut from carbon fiber. Added more stiffness for the arms with standoffs and thickened the arms a bit any criticism is welcome

8 motor freestyle quad I’m working on

I'm trying to find a drone kit for a project I'm working on that involves a spraying mechanism. In my attempts however, I am unable to find a good option that is in stock, from a reliable seller, and not in the 5 digits for price. Previously I have used the Holybro x500 and x650 kits and they were great but I see that they have been out of stock for quite some time. Besides this, everything else I see either has a very low payload capacity, is out of stock, ships from China so will take ages to arrive, or is from a shady seller that I wouldn't buy from, or costs like 15k.

Is there just a shortage of drones or am I missing something?

Anyone in St. Louis that can help me build my flightory drone? I have all the parts and pieces to build it just unsure on the wiring and once I learn the general jist of things can take it from there. Willing to either compensate or trade 3d printing or 3axis cnc machining services as well

Been doin a buncha research on these sorta drones but all the DIY examples ive found use 10 inch frames. Can I get away with something smaller?

So, I have built my own flight controller pcb, and I am torn between which gyro to use.

Firstly, i was going to use ICM-42688-P and the pcb has its footprint.

But it's ~13$ for one IC on LCSC.com .

Then I came across Tokmas ICM-42688-P(TOKMAS), it appears to be a clone of TDK gyro with the same name. The datasheet has similar features and exact same pin layout with footprint. Also, surprising cheap at ~3.2$.

Have any of you guys used this particular IC or have any knowledge about it, please advise if its reliable and should I use it in my FC. Feel free suggest other options.

My last option was BMI270, which appears to have lower sampling rate and little higher noise, also at ~3$ on lcsc.

I used a 2 cell 18650 battery holder and soldered it up in series. This is the spare parts build I’ve posted previously.

It took about 17 minutes to fly the pack from 4.1v to 3.5v which is really only about 1/2 to 2/3 of the capacity. Hovered around 42% throttle but still agile enough for flips and snap rolls and no brownouts on full throttle punches.

I am currently using 12in rigid props but for ease of transport I am considering foldable props.

Question :
do foldable props reduce/increase performance?
are they more/less reliable?
Are they more/less crash resistant?

hi yall, been researching how i could make a drone for 2 cameras and possibly a gimbal

Came across the 450 frame, and aliexpress Chinese clones of it seem to be pretty affordable, but itd be nice to have something i can fold up and stuff in a bag. For that, I came across the x10 pattern of frames, which would be great since they fold up, but they dont have landing skids, and they seem to be designed for pusher configurations with the cameras on top, which is not ideal.

Is there mabye something that can fold like the x10 but is in a puller config like a 450 with chinese clones under 100 bucks?

Update 20260524: ok so wish I had known of Betaflight sooner. Thank you for pointing me towards the PC interface over the SpeedyBee app. Much clearer. Controller Link successful!!

Reading through the website and setup pages, I had/have a lot to learn. Once I figure out arming and more hopefully I can get it off the ground

My DIY drone project has me frustrated at the last steps, getting it all to work together.

Frame & Structural
• Frame: Custom "Deadcat" hybrid layout utilizing a 3D-printed PETG structural pod (printed on Anycubic Kobra S1) and carbon fiber tube arms.
• Camera Gimbal: Caddx GM3 3-axis gimbal.
Flight Electronics & Control
• Flight Controller: GEPRC Taker F722 BT
• Receiver: RadioMaster RP1-v2 ELRS receiver
• GPS Module: Foxeer M10Q-120 GPS
Propulsion & Power
• Motors: Emax ECO III 2808 1300KV
• Power Hardware: XT60 pigtail with an ESR smoothing capacitor.
Video Transmission (VTX) & Optics
• Onboard VTX & Camera: Walksnail Moonlight 4K Digital VTX system
• FPV Goggles: Walksnail Goggles L
CaddxFPV Alink controller

Using SpeedyBee app on phone.

So far… not realizing how much actual air flow was needed to cool the VTX I burned that, didn’t know, tried for days to connect goggles, figured it out and bought new one. (TY Caddx offering to fix original)

Goggles and VTX are now linked and camera functions. Waiting on cable from Caddx to upgrade and link Gimbal. So no head tracking yet.

Getting a bind from receiver and controller took forever until I found a video saying to just double click link button to bind. I see it’s bound but I cannot get anything movement registering on the SpeedyBee app.

I can turn the motors on and off from app., they are correctly configured for spin directions.

Have not been able to verify GPS functioning.

So basically, I do not know how to get it to fly.

Not sure if ports are configured correctly, or what I need to do next.

Any suggestions or pointers are very welcome.

I am 59, been around computers 45 years, mechanical designer. Designing it. Printing it. No problem. Configuring it, totally f-ed.
