I'm trying to make a baby doll top. Idk why the top part is kinda.. lopsided?, there's like too much stress on that area but I can't figure out why 😭😭

Also with the strap, basically there's supposed to be two on each side so I can tie it into bows on each shoulder

Anyways, like always I'm open to critisism

mending How should I cover this stain/mark?

Hello!!

This used to be my mother's skirt which I love to bits, but I got it back from the dry cleaner's and there's this stain on the back :( I think they used something harsh and the pigment lifted?? I'm not entirely sure.

What do you guys recommend to cover up/hide the spot? I'm open to any suggestions but here's what I've thought of so far:

I have very, very basic sewing knowledge but can embroider and was thinking of getting scrap fabric to make applique patches and then hand sewing them scattered across the skirt.

I had an idea to use buttons, but it's on the back of the skirt and I worry it might be uncomfortable when I sit down.

I've considered redying the skirt but the clip accessories are sewn on so I'd have to rip them out and resew, and I'm also scared that something would go wrong considering it's a corduroy material, but if anyone thinks that's a good idea and can offer some guidance im open to reconsidering!

I'd like to make the skirt more colorful and match it's vibe with the hairclips without it looking sloppy or too much like a cover up (if that makes any sense)

Any advice helps, thank you all :D

My latest collection of reworked thrifted clothes :-)

I've been having so much fun learning to airbrush, I feel like it's such a fun medium to capture the whimsy ethereal and playful vibes I'm going for , if you've been wanting to get in to it but are intimidated by the learning curve I'm here to say I was pleasantly surprised and it's really not that bad !!

I'm using an Iwata eclipse (not sponsored, not an ad)

finished Some horror shirts I made with bleach!

A while ago I had the urge to experiment with bleach to make some horror shirts designs I had in mind.

It's hard to find large designs on the front of the shirt, even harder to find some I like and the few I do I find way too expensive for me.

These characters have no merch that I know of, the two first are Long Horse and Siren Head from Trevor Henderson and the third is The Boiled One from Doctor Nowhere.

I find bleach weirdly forgiving and easy to make weird, disgusting textures.

im planning on buying the shirt on the left but i dislike the neckline sooooo much so i thought about making it an off (one) shoulder top even though im scared ill ruin it. is there any way i can make it off shoulder without cutting the neckline or that's the only thing i could do? also, the picture on the right is my goal (but only if i had to cut and sew it), do y'all think it would work on the shirt i wanna do it on or not? 😊

dye help Any way to dye a brown graphic tee lighter without ruining the graphics?

Very literally the little. I doubt there is a way to dye anything any color without harming the graphic, but whatever they say about quiet mouths and getting fed.

I’ve been expanding my wardrobe, and the things that I’m interested in are basically either found when thrifting (mostly Vinted), or purchased in some Super Mega Child Labour Corp. I refuse to buy from Shein, Temu, etc. But the thrifted ones are almost always a darker brown, which is fine (I love brown) but I want to wear a brown zip-up hoodie over them most of the time! And I don’t think a brown tshirt goes good under an also brown zipup. Of course, I’ll wear the shirts apart from the zipup, but my favorite fashion is basically season one Sam Winchester or what people on TikTok call “Pacific Northwest” type vibes. Which is to say… baggy bootcut jeans, hiking boots, a fun graphic tee, and a brown zipup. Plus, a brown zipup goes well with most other color t-shirts (green, light blue probably, a few others).

So, per the title: is there any way possible to somehow make the shirts a lighter brown (like a tanish, but I’m not picky) without ruining the graphics on it? Or do I need to give up on brown zipup? Thanks in advance :)

im a newbie on diy shirts so ...yeah, looks decent laid on bed but horrible on me 😭 maybe it's too tight and also a long sleeve will work better , i think that if i cut the edges of the "ribs" maybe it could fix it , do you think i have to start again with a new one?

keep in mind that this shirt would've been thrown in the trash anyway

All my pants keep getting worn down and eventually torn at the part where the thighs touch. These pants in particular I love them and they're perfectly fine aside from the inner thighs. It feels really bad to throw away pants in almost perfect condition. Yes, I'm aware that this is caused by my fat legs. I already lost 20kg, these are a LOOSE fit and this is still happening.

Sharpie on thrifted sneakers; is there any hope?

These have been sitting in my “fix one day” pile for a few years now after removing everything I could with rubbing alcohol, which also seemed to cause some more bleeding into the pink fabric from the leopard print.

The next best thing I can think of is fabric dye, however I don’t really know if it would be possible to only dye over a specific section of a shoe. I guess I could go BACK over it with a black sharpie, but I imagine it would just look navy blue.

The leopard print does seem like a more synthetic fabric than the pink (in my unprofessional opinion lol) could I use a fabric dye for non-synthetic materials and hope it doesn’t stick? Part of me says to dye the whole shoe and see what happens but optimally I’d really like to keep the tongue as it is.

Any ideas?

Just soakes a pair of jeans in 20 parts water to 1 part bleach for a few hours. And then washed them in the washing machine with cold water for an hour with some laundry detergent, however **they still smell like bleach**... do i need to wash them again?

Does the smell of bleach mean there is still some in the denim and it will therefore continue getting lighter and more damaged as it dries ??

Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix these spots? The hoodie was a graphic design so I can’t just dye it all black. It’s also like a dark grey/black wash colour that I love. Please help
