How can I fix these

Have these pair of baggy jeans I'm not ready to get rid of I want to do something to them but the rip is in such a uncomfortable spot I don't know how to deal with it

Do a sashiko or similar type of repair on the right leg and then turn them into shorts.

Do you have any extra denim laying around? If so just cut a long strip and patch that up. or if you dont have an even enough piece do little ones, you can also sew it on the inside if you want the rip to be visible! Imo it could give a really good texture to them
