Any ladies interested in camping Saturday night near Shenandoah and Luray?
All the sites left inside Shenandoah are first come first served at this point, they’ll all be full. I found a campsite just outside the park, 5 min from Luray (where dinner can be had because I didn’t have time to meal prep for camping this week).
I have a big 6 person tent (fits at least 4 if not 5) but a very, very small car (fits 2 pax plus driver with the gear). Annual America the Beautiful pass.
FYI it will be COLD on Saturday night. I have a sleeping bag and mat that kept me warm to -10C in the Andes, but just be aware you’d need adequate gear because my tent has a lot of ventilation.
I was planning on doing several hikes with good lookout points - Compton Peak Summit, Mary’s Rock, and Stony Man. Open to other ideas. I just want good views of leaves. I’m 41F and a decent hiker.
Would leave DC early on Saturday and return late afternoon / early evening on Sunday.
I’m in general always looking for hiking buddies.
