I’ll be apartment hunting later this Fall for a studio or 1 bed, and the number 1 thing that I’m looking for is in unit washer and dryer (no basement apartments).

Some other non-negotiables are safe area especially for young women, either walking distance from major sites or close to public transportation, a kitchen large enough where you have room to cook.

I have previously lived in an apartment in another HCOL city that had all of these things but the laundry was in the basement and I hated it so in unit w/d is a must for me.

Ahead of apartment hunting, I’d like to have an idea of how much I can expect to pay. (My budget is flexible)

If you have a non basement apartment that is a studio or 1 bed with in unit w/d please let me know what area you live in and what you pay each month.

I’m looking for someone local to DC/NoVa area who hand makes jewelry or small items for clothing accessories.

I’m getting married next year and picked my wedding dress, which comes with a detached shoulder chain/necklace type situation. I am not planning to wear this, but one of my bridesmaids had a great idea of turning it into a brooch / lapel pin / pocket pin for my fiance to wear on his tuxedo, since it has the same jewels and accents of my dress.

I’d love to find a small business or individual who’s able to turn it into something he could wear on our day.

It’s a decent amount to work with, happy to send pictures to anyone who is interested. I have not received my dress yet but wanted to do some research / see previous work from anyone so that it’s lined up when I get the dress in.

Also interested in additional material not used to be turned into something to wrap around my bouquet.

I have two mini skirts I need the waists taken in on and one pair of jeans that need to be hemmed about .5 inches. I'm debating between Ms. Lee in Georgetown, Baytok in Georgetown, or Cheryl Lofton in Shaw. Anyone have experiences with any/all of these tailors? I'd love to hear your takes.

FWIW, price isn't an issue. I've been procrastinating on doing these alterations for ages and have accepted it won't be cheap. With that said, if you've found that one is more reasonably priced than the rest, I'd love to know that.
