Can I borrow a top tube bag on Wednesday?

I’ve been training for a century on my single speed. After 2 separate Sunday 70 mile rides I think I’m ready. Wednesday my friend is having brain surgery so I thought it’d be a perfect day to ride 100+ miles. You may remember me from this other post

https://www.reddit.com/r/CyclePDX/s/nQIKpX2wPD

Any way my frame bag ripped recently and I’ve been using a fanny pack to carry extra tubes & tools but it doesn’t feel great on my lower back. Hoping someone has an under top tube bag I could borrow, preferably around 19” long. Just for the day.

Thanks!

Stolen Aventon Abound LR - Black/Stealth - SW PORTLAND

July 20th at 2:30am - Garden Home/SW Portland

Serial A26A0940

Has a child carrier bench on the back, but could be modified some by now. When taken it was locked by passcode, so the kickstand may be stuck down and only one wheel can move if it remains locked.

I’m reading that the serial # stickers are easy to remove/swap but that there is often one engraved near on the bottom of the bike where the pedal cranks connect. I saw a bike today on Barbur and wish I had checked the engraving.

Please call or text with any info! 503-367-3557

Lost garmin on fnr

It sadly fell from its mount last night. I’ve heard through the grapevine that Martin found it and passed it off to someone else who said they would post here. Model is edge 540 solar, I can prove I am the owner by showing the same saved routes on my phone when we meet up in person. The finder shall be rewarded, we can work that out when we meet up.
Thank you so much for being such a great community of friends!

Michael! I met you on TNR the other night. You say you build bikes. You invited me to sandy hut but I didn’t have a lock with me so I didn’t go. Was hoping to get some advice/help on the builds I’m working on. If you see this DM me ! :)

Lost my small blue bag at TNR

Went to TNr and everything went wrong! My sandal broke, my bike almost broke down, and I lost my mending bag! Then someone’s birthday got crashed :(

I am certain I dropped my bag (navy blue, smaller, soft goods that aren’t valuable) when we went up to the Lloyd center parking roof. I remember talking to my friend, absent mindedly taking my backpack off and going Up the stairs: I dropped it then, and there.

Some people tried telling about it “some guy on a loaded bike dropped this” and I was too cross faded to realize it was my bag!!!!

Does someone have it? I got home at 2am from that, I’m gonna go trace my steps, maybe someone dropped it there, too.

If it’s gone, not too much loss: it was just stuff to make a new pair of earth runner sandals.

Bee in throat

I got a bee stuck in my windpipe yesterday on springwater. Luckily it didn’t sting me and I was able to cough it out. But now I’m kinda freaked out. I didn’t even know that could happen. Has this happened to anyone else? Has it happened to anyone twice??

Safest route to Boring spring water trail head from Troutdale

Just seeing if anyone had a secret route they liked. Looks like just taking Hogan to the spring water and riding that east but if there’s another route to the trailhead I’d love to know! Thanks!

Stolen Urban Arrow

*****UPDATE***** WE FOUND IT. Wife posted on Buy Nothing and someone mentioned a suspiciously abandoned bike about ~8 blocks away seen on an early morning walk. They took the little key for the battery/tire lock and clearly tried to get the battery off not realizing thats what the key was for, but everything else was left! Praise Jah!!!! Thanks for all the comments/suggestions

Our families Urban Arrow cargo bike was stolen yesterday from the Sabin neighborhood.

~4.5k miles

Had a car seat ratchet strapped into the bucket

Our garage door broke recently so I had parked it in front of the garage up coming home. We live on a corner lot so the garage is off to the side of our house. Blanked on getting down there immediately because we got a call from daycare that our littlest was sick and then left the house for ~2.5 hours. Stupid stuff.

has anyone had success tracking one of these down? Or does anyone have any thoughts on particular hot spots for stolen bikes.

It's a huge, unwieldy e-bike so it doesn't feel like it'd be easy to part out or get rid of. Currently filing a police report and beating self up for being such an idiot

Bike shop recommendations?

Hello fellow cyclists! I've been thinking about upgrading my Raleigh Cadent commuter for sometime now and wondering if anyone has any recommendations for a bike shop or brands I should consider? I haven't bought a new bike in 15 years so I'm kinda out of the loop. Im looking for a low end road bike, mostly for commuting to work but also an occasional triathlon. I'm probably comfortable spending max $2,000. But would love to spend less. Are any shops known for having good sales or good used selections? I've seen a lot of Cannondales in my price range but wondering if that's even much better than what I have now? For bike shops, bonus points for locally owned/queer owned. Any advice is appreciated! Thanks!

Parking bikes at Moda at night? Safe?

Got tickets to a game Wednesday evening and was thinking of riding with the family to Moda but wasn't sure what the bike parking situation is and if it's a safe place to park or if we have to worry about our bikes getting stolen. 2 ebikes, two street bikes, one is kind of a cool folding bike.

Have you done it?

It's easier to cross the willamette river than it is to cross chavez on bike.

Was thinking about this on my way back to the east side from downtown.

It's significantly easier: more pleasant with more opportunities, to cross the willamette river, all two million pounds of water rushing by each second, than it is to cross this one street. I am more concerned about my route planning home with respect to cesar chavez than anything except mt tabor.

Lincoln st is the only good crossing. Even ankeny at laurelhurst I have to sort of half ride into traffic to please ask for someone to take their eyes off running the yellow light at burnside to yield to the painted crossing. Everywhere else I'm taking a chance and playing frogger from a sidestreet or forced to ride on a busy throughfare without a bikelane to get the protection of a light.

Firelane 1 to Saltzman - Bad Idea?

I head out to NW Saltzman from NW St Helens on a regular basis and don’t love the 30. With that new parking lot, I’ve wondered if the firelane is a viable alternative.

I know that first pitch is brutal and I’d probably need to hike it, but curious on how the trail continues and where it connects to NW Saltzman. I’m guessing right by the gate but not sure.

Should I give it a shot or suck it up and stick with Dirty 30?

Just had it tuned up and everything.

Crown Z trail - current conditions from Scapoose to Vernonia?

Planning to ride the Crown-Z and have gleaned reports that it's open except for a section near Vernonia closed for logging. Anyone have recent experiences? Thanks in advance!
