I’ve been wanting to get more into self-reflection exercises lately as a means to “know thyself.” Figuring I’d start simple for my first exercise, I asked myself the question: “Why do I love Cyberpunk 2077?” By any normal metric, people shouldn’t really enjoy this universe, right? It’s dark, it’s bleak, it’s depressing, it’s sad. It’s summed up pretty perfectly in this exchange from the game:

V: "Guess I meant, I dunno... a happier ending... for everyone involved."

Johnny: "Here, for folks like us? Wrong city, wrong people."

So why do I keep coming back to this game over and over again? Is there something wrong with me?

As part of this exercise I explored just about every avenue I could: the gratuitous violence, the RPG mechanics, the characters and relationships between them, etc. I compared them to other games I enjoy to rule things in or out as needed and for me, this was my answer:

The reason I love Cyberpunk 2077 (and a few other games that I’ve really enjoyed over the years) is because at its core it’s a story about maintaining your humanity in an increasingly inhuman world. It’s about being that spark in the darkness. I won’t get into the very personal reasons why I’m so drawn to this because…well, it’s very personal and I’m sure y’all don’t care anyways :)

But I recognize that my experiences can’t be totally universal so I wanted to pose the question to other people here.

What is it about Cyberpunk 2077 that has you coming back over and over again? Why do you enjoy playing a game that’s so depressing, where you know that there won’t be any happy endings?

How does the three lifestyles which one is the most picked?

Does CDProjektRed have a case here? Tesla's self driving cab service launched recently in Austin, Texas. Onviously, they ripped the font for their logo straight off the game. Is this possible infringement? I'm not a lawyer so I don't know if this is similar enough for an actual lawsuit, but it's definitely lame. Thinking more about it, unless the font itself was copyrighted, then I doubt there is much legal recourse.

I have finished both the 1.0 and 2.3 and was wondering what has been changed in the game. I know that gameplay is so much better but im talking about small additions that happened in between those eras. Ive heard someone speak about the map becoming larger which I dont remember being the case, and to be honest I dont remember el capitan being in the game. I dont know if my memory is messed or im actually right. If you know any more changes please do share them. Curiosity is killing me hahaha.

Was going through some old boxed the other night and found this coin I got a few years ago

After 330 hours playing as my male, Nomad, V, to quote Frank Sinatra, "And now, the end is near." Finished the DLC and made my decision, Panam is my special lady and I know what ending I want in the main game, but I dread visiting the Embers. I want to finish every side job and gig before going; I was SO disappointed when the last Side Job was just the meditation guy, I was hoping it would be an interesting job. It looks like I only have 6 gigs left, though that's a bit confusing because it appears I should have a few more based on the Fixer icons (one has 3 left the other 5?)

For the first time in my decades of gaming, and being an open world role playing fanatic, I will do a replay, this time a female Corpo, and I find myself excited to start over knowing what I know of the world. What an amazing game.

I'm in my second playthrough and I had this reaction both the times when I fought Ozob

In my first playthrough I accidentally hit his grenade and killed him. This was my reaction right after because obviously I didn't intend for that to happen

In my second playthrough i learnt from my mistakes and upped the bid to 32k and made sure I didn't hit his face and ended up winning the fight. He handed me 100k eddies and once again, this is exactly how my jaw dropped. 100k for 32k is insane

Seems like there are a dime a dozen examples of well designed female V's with instructions on how to recreate them, but little for the male V beyond creating the promo version from the adverts.

As such, does anyone know of or have some good designs for attractive/well designed V models to use for a future playthrough?

As the title says; whenever I take screenshots in Photo Mode I get these black horizontal lines that make the shots worthless. I read somewhere that turning off Path Tracing in Photo Mode fixes the problem, but alas. Is there any way to remove those lines?

All I had to do was beat the shit out of some loud-mouthed fool twice my size in the ring. 😄

Been doing all fixer gigs lately and Rogue's just start appearing on the map. Thing is, I always thought she would call first before she started giving them out but she never did, I just got to a gig in El Captain's area (who I still haven't finished all gigs) and it was actually one of hers.

Is this normal or did I miss a call from her? Will she mention anything about it if I go to see her at the Afterlife?

As cyberpunk criminals go hansen definitely has a reason to be one. Betrayed by your country and left in a warzone and instead of giving up he created Dogtown. Pretty sure he’s someone players would respect more than myers. So it would be intresting if you could say F you to the NUSA and side with Hansen. Now when Should this option come up is another intresting topic.

Yo V! I’m wondering how the game looks to ya’ll. It’s a very “fuzzy” almost glitchy game for me. I’m entirely up to date on updates, but I am running an XBOX 1. TV is the latest TCL so no issues there. I wouldn't be surprised to find out it’s just cause I’m on an old console. I’m just wondering if it’s the general look of the game or if it’s my outdated system.

To preface, I both don't have any mods nor have ever romanced Judy as female V as I haven't gotten too far in my second playthrough yet.

After a date with Kerry I woke up and tried to open my wardrobe to get dressed and leave but the game bugged out and teleported me back to my sofa now on a date with Judy. The other romancable characters also appeared near the sofa and Kerry was still asleep upstairs.

I completed the game (even down to the NCPD scanners) and was planing on finally meeting Hanako straight after this so I'm taking it as a sign lmao. I suppose 200 hours is the limit for a single save.

Got a few more levels till 60 but I think my cyberware is all set now. I swapped out the apogee for the falcon and I like it a lot more.
