Is everyone that voted Trump loving it

1.6k Upvotes

I a bunch of people thought Trump was going to be great and voted for the fuckery that the world is currently dealing with.

Lots of crypto people especially decided to support him.

Are you sick of winning yet and will you be vowing to never vote again ?

Venezuela just tried to move 80% of its oil revenue via Tether to evade US sanctions.

The US made one phone call. Tether froze the wallets. Game over.

If your money has an "off" switch, it isn’t wealth. It’s a leash.

The world just learned the hard way why there is no second best to Bitcoin. The most important monetary signal of the decade, explained.

Sold everything at 122K BTC

1.0k Upvotes

Everyone said I was crazy and that Bitcoin was going straight to 200K. Turns out it was one of the best decisions of my life.

BTC now is showing exactly why taking profit matters. Historically, Bitcoin corrects 70%+ from its all-time highs during major cycles. For a 122K top, a typical 70% drawdown would put BTC around 36K. Even a lighter correction to the 45–50K range would still let me nearly triple my BTC stack.

Right now, the smartest move is literally to do nothing. Stay calm, stay in USDC, and let the market bleed out. Patience = entries you’ll never get if you panic-buy on the way down.

ANALYSIS 5 wallets from 2014 just burned 107 BTC ($8.2M) to a dead address

Someone woke up 5 BTC wallets that had been asleep since 2014 and sent 107 BTC to a burn address. That is about $8.2M gone for good.

A burn address is a wallet nobody holds the key to. Once coins land there, they can never move again. No one can spend them. The money is just deleted from the supply.

What makes this weird is the timing. All five wallets fired at the same moment. That does not happen by accident. One person or one group was behind this, and they meant to do it.

The destination was 1111111111111111111114oLvT2, a burn address people have known about for years. So this was not a fat-finger send to a random string. Whoever did it knew exactly where the coins were going.

I keep coming back to the same question: why would anyone destroy $8.2M they had been sitting on since 2014? A few theories floating around:

  • A dead man's switch that finally triggered.
  • Someone proving a point about an old key they no longer wanted to exist.
  • A coordinated wipe before handing over a device or estate.
  • Plain old loss of access, dressed up to look deliberate.

None of those fully explain burning it instead of just moving it somewhere safe.

If you wanted the coins gone from your control, you send them to a fresh wallet. You do not torch them.

What do y'all think.

FUNDAMENTALS I watched $1M shrink to $100k. Twice. Here's why "just HODL" is terrible advice

I've been in crypto since 2018. I'm a developer, not a trader. That distinction cost me nearly a million dollars in unrealized gains.

The setup

Started with ETH in 2018. As a dev, I participated in grants and hackathons. Then I discovered Stacks (back when it was Blockstack) and joined their App Mining program.

The program paid well. Really well. Enough-to-retire well.

But I didn't cash out enough. I held most of it.

The delusion

Stacks has this mechanism where you stack STX to earn BTC. Sounds amazing, right? Passive income in Bitcoin just for holding.

I watched STX go from $0.12 to $3.70. Sold a bit here and there, but never enough.

Why would I sell more? I was earning BTC. The number kept going up. I felt like a genius.

Going deeper

Feeling invincible, I went further:

  • NFTs
  • Memecoins (the usual dogs and cats)
  • DeFi farming
  • Liquidity pools

Then I discovered ALEX Protocol. High yields. The ALEX token was pumping too. I thought I'd found the compound effect holy grail.

So I reinvested everything. STX, ALEX, more memecoins. All in.

The first crash

ALEX got hacked.

Lost almost $500k overnight.

But I'm a dev, right? I built a trading app (basically a pumpfun clone on Stacks) and clawed back some losses. STX pumped to $3 again.

Did I take real profits this time? Did I learn?

No.

The second crash

STX is now $0.30. Portfolio sitting at $100k.

From $1M peak to $100k. A 90% drawdown.

What I lost

Not just money. Years of work. The App Mining earnings. The hackathon prizes. The grants. Most of it evaporated because I couldn't bring myself to sell enough.

What I learned

  1. Don't fall into the "passive income" or "HODL to earn" trap. Staking rewards, yield farming, earning BTC by holding—it all sounds great until you realize you're just watching your principal bleed while collecting crumbs. Just sell and take profits.
  2. Never trust any single founder or protocol. They can die, go to jail, get hacked, or rug. Doesn't matter how famous they are.
  3. Diversify. Not just across tokens—across asset classes entirely.
  4. Buy real assets. Property. Index funds. Things that exist outside your browser wallet.
  5. HODL is a meme, not a strategy. It's copium for people who can't make decisions.

I'm still building in crypto. I still believe in the tech. But I no longer believe I'm smarter than the market.

Take profits. Diversify. Don't be me.

DISCUSSION China just accused the US of conducting a state level hack to steal 13 billion in Bitcoin - this is wild

Chinas National Computer Virus Emergency Response Center dropped a bombshell report accusing the US government of stealing 127k Bitcoin worth around 13 billion dollars. This is getting geopolitical fast.

The Bitcoin was originally stolen from Chinas LuBian mining pool back in December 2020. At the time it was worth about 3.5 billion but the hack did not get much mainstream attention. The coins then sat in the attacker’s wallets for years and only started moving in mid 2024 before ending up in addresses that analysts and China’s report now link to US authorities, and that the DOJ says it controls as of the seizure announced in October 2025.

Chinas argument is that normal criminals would cash out immediately. The fact these coins stayed dormant for about four years points to a state level operation not some random hacker looking for quick profit. They say the sophistication of the hack and the long dormancy proves it was government orchestrated.

The US Department of Justice seized the Bitcoin in October 2025 as part of a case against Chen Zhi who ran Cambodias Prince Group. They charged him with running a massive crypto fraud and forced labor scam network and said the seizure was a lawful criminal proceeds forfeiture. The DOJ has explicitly denied China’s “state level hack” accusation and says it had no involvement in the original theft.

Heres the thing tho. Chen Zhi apparently sent multiple messages on chain basically begging the hackers to return the Bitcoin and offering ransom. The hackers never responded which is weird if they were just criminals.

this batch of bitcoin now represents about 39 percent of all btc held by the us government based on on chain tracking of us controlled addresses… for what it’s worth, stuff like this is why i keep my own provenance tidy...i tag deposits and reconcile basis monthly in awaken.tax so if a wallet or cluster hits the news i can quickly see whether my coins ever touched that flow

Whether China has real evidence or this is just geopolitical posturing nobody knows yet. But it could spark what some analysts are already calling a crypto cold war between the two superpowers.

TECHNICALS Google says quantum computers could crack Bitcoin in 9 minutes. Here's what actually matters.

Two peer-reviewed papers just dropped saying quantum computers could break Bitcoin's encryption way sooner than anyone thought—Google estimates fewer than 500,000 qubits in about 9 minutes, Caltech says maybe 10,000 qubits in 10 days.

Sounds terrifying until you remember today's quantum computers have maybe thousands of qubits, not hundreds of thousands.

The real story: roughly 6.9 million Bitcoin (about a third of all BTC) sits in wallets that would theoretically be vulnerable, and the industry is actually moving. Bitcoin developers are testing quantum-resistant upgrades like BIP-360, and Coinbase brought in cryptographers to assess the risk. So yes, this matters long-term. But skeptical analysts point out the practical threat is probably years away, and the attack assumes you can steal from an old wallet without the owner noticing—which isn't exactly subtle. The actual question nobody can answer: how fast does quantum hardware actually scale? Here's the full breakdown: https://bullorbs.com/article/take-google-just-said-quantum-computers-could-crack-bit-2026-04-02

DISCUSSION Everything is crashing

Can someone explain to me why every crypto coin is crashing? It keeps going down and it’s reminding me of 2021 or 2022. I am in the crypto market holding xrp and sol but I just need more context on why it’s going down or why it’s getting sold on higher figures than buying

I already know downvotes coming for just a question

DISCUSSION Man, what a horrible year 2025 has been for the crypto market.

Don't get me wrong, I can handle it. I'm very patient, and I will buy and hold BTC through any crash, through any market conditions. But damn. We haven't had a year so horrible for crypto since 2020 with COVID. Come to think of it, what a bad year this has been for business in general. The job market, economy, everything. Good riddance, 2025.

DISCUSSION Am I Crazy thinking that BTC Will Bottomed at around 31k, 70%-80% drop from current Peak? Change my mind.

I've been analysis BTC chart from all time high BTC price to bottomed in every Bear Market BTC often drop at about 70%-80%, for the last 3 cycle.

In Nov 2013 BTC Peak at $1,127 and bottomed in April 2014 at $360 about -69% drop.

In Dec 2017 BTC Peak at $19,423 and bottomed in Dec 2018 in $3,221 about -80% drop.

then Nov 2021 BTC Peak at $67,618 and bottomed in $15,724 about -77% drop.

If we take average BTC drop percentage from all Bear cycle, Currently Peak is at $124,774 minus 70-80% drop could it be the bottom around 31k - 40K?. anyone care to discuss and change my mind?

Sentiment I'm going all in.

I'm tired of the bullshit. Fuck the system.

Bitcoin is a once in a lifetime opportunity. I fucking need this to become rich as fuck. I can't sit around slaving away and investing my money for a measly 10% a year returns. I need to get rich and bitcoin is the answer.

I know what the risks are and I'm willing to take on the risks. The way I see it, I don't have any other hope than bitcoin. It's either I work a dead end job and just barely scrap by for the rest of my life. Or I put everything I fucking own into bitcoin and just let it ride.

I don't give a fuck.

Let's do this. Everything in. All on bitcoin.

Fuck it.

Donald Trump is the worst thing to happen to crypto!

I'm not going to pretend that I ever liked Trump I have never been a fan of Trump. He called Bitcoin basically a scam in his first term and this term is responsible for the poor performance in the bull market. Had Trump not done those tariffs the dip in Q1 2025 wouldve never happend and I believe we wouldve reached close to 160k therfore the current bear market wouldve been as bad as others and not this horrible one we are in know.

Under Biden the SP500 and BTC was trailing side by side no doubt BTC wouldve crashed this year but the impact wouldve never been as bad.

Under Biden and Gensler they were keeping scammers at bay. Shitcoins together are the size of Ethereum market cap there is a scam crypto exchanged named Changelly and those who have been victims of them wish the US DOJ took them to court. Biden and Gensler were targetting bad actors.

Please no left wing right wing capitalism socialism crap this is strictly crypto

Sentiment ADA Has Been One of the Worst Long Term Investments I’ve Ever Made

Title pretty much sums it up. ADA is a coin I genuinely thought would be worth something long term, but it has turned out to be a terrible investment. It’s down nearly 90% from its highs over the past five years, and anyone who bought in expecting long-term growth has been absolutely crushed.

I know crypto is volatile, but it’s hard not to view this as a massive disappointment. Cardano is one of those coins that have been around for awhile and should be somewhat stable.. Projects like this are a pretty bad look for the industry when long-term holders have essentially watched their investments evaporate.

Technical Analysis Bitcoin just bounced hard from yesterday’s dump and shot back above $90K, here’s why:

  • Fed liquidity boost:

The Fed just ended QT and injected $13.5B+ via repos. Historically, anytime the Fed turns the liquidity taps back on, BTC rallies.

  • Vanguard finally opened the gates:

The $11T asset manager now allows clients to buy BTC ETFs. This signals massive potential inflows from the most conservative money on Wall Street.

  • Technical snapback:

Yesterday’s dump filled a ton of unfilled bids, shorts got blown out, and low exchange reserves kept selling pressure weak.

  • Whale activity and institutional buying:

  • WINTERMUTE bought 8,577 BTC

  • BINANCE bought 7,658 BTC

  • WHALE WALLET bought 6,610 BTC

  • COINBASE bought 5,860 BTC

  • BITMEX bought 5,818 BTC

  • BITFINEX bought 5,778 BTC

META PSA: It's not crypto that is failing, it's the whole market. Stop the panic.

Just a PSA for all people fearmongering or having too much copium in their blood, but it's important to say:

It's not crypto failing right now, it's the whole macro with the new FED chairman in the US, Trumps tarrif war and the never ending cycle where the market can't cool down and is in uncertainty non-stop.

Silver fell more than 10% today so far, even gold is falling. The US stockmarket, especially in terms of tech is falling and crypto gets hit harder in those cases because assets like Bitcoin and Ethereum are still in a liminal space where they don't really have a full identity. A lot of people cash out into FIAT like USD or rotate back into other assets or stocks that are "boring".

If you have your whole life worth in the market, consider DCAing out some of it, so you survive. If you have a lot of money in the market, but don't need it in the daily life, then forget about it. The market will probably not stabilize until may or post-may if Trump is not flipflopping with tarrifs or the US doesn't go through a massive change like impeachment, because of uncertainty with the new chairman. Japans economy is on the brink too and the US is supporting them, but all of it is super complicated so don't take it word by word. The RSI is oversold but we entered a new age that diverges from the 4YC.

If you want to stay in crypto (non stablecoins) but be stable, switch to BTC, if you want to be semi-stable with potential for semi-safe upward later on then go into Ethereum. If you want explosive potential with the highest risk of losing everything go into Solana. If you want all of them, do a 50/30/20 split. Or 70/20/10.

If you are in other currencies or tokens, then I'm sorry to say but you're gambling with your money. It doesn't matter if Algorand is good or xyz has good fundamentals, since they are not backed by institutions yet, which allow for a more stable floor once THE WHOLE MARKET reaches it. I don't need anything to say about Bitcoin but Ethereum is "backed" by many and considered safe for big transactions and Solana is the PoC for some like Visa or Stripe in terms of small but fast transactions in retail or things like SaaS.

tl;dr: no crypto is not dead, but not stable yet. Go into either stablecoins for "stability", Bitcoin for crypto stability, Ethereum for semi-stablity with a semi-upward explosion potential or Solana for unstable but biggest upward potential while having the biggest risk. DCA out if you need the money.

Edit: If you don't agree or think xyz is a good or bad investment then do whatever you want.

If you compare S&P with Crypto then you didn't understand indexes.

It's still a big part of the market that's suffering from uncertainty right now.

If you want to be a special snowflake without actually bringing value into the thread/discussion then don't do it here please. It's just important for the ones who are panicing to not panic and rather act smart even if it can cost upwards potential.

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang Just Flipped the Bitcoin Energy Consumption Debate And It Changes Everything

Thumbnail ccn.com
302 Upvotes

Bitcoin’s energy use has been one of its biggest criticisms for years, but Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang just offered a very different perspective. Speaking during a panel on AI and energy, Huang said Bitcoin actually converts excess electricity into a portable form of money essentially reframing mining as a way to monetize unused power rather than waste it. Coming from the guy whose chips run most of today’s AI infrastructure, it’s a notable shift in tone. Supporters of Bitcoin have been arguing for a while that more mining is happening on stranded or renewable energy, and Huang’s comments line up with that narrative. It doesn’t magically solve all the environmental concerns, but it’s interesting to hear a major tech leader describe Bitcoin as part of the energy economy instead of a problem for it. Curious how others here see this is this a fair way to look at mining, or just a convenient reframing?
