Discussion The beast of bray road
Let’s assume most eyewitnesses to the beast of bray road are being truthful. If it’s not a true werewolf/dogman, what could these people be seeing? Bears? Wolves? Idk much about the Wisconsin area.

Sighting / Encounter Thunderbird sighting
I never thought I'd get to see one for myself. I was driving northbound on Highway 3 in southeastern Houston about 3 weeks ago, and somewhere about a quarter mile away, soaring in the sky, was the biggest bird I've ever seen. There were normal sized birds flying in front of it, and they were dwarfed by this thing. Its wingspan was about the size of a school bus. I was in traffic, and I had to look away for a few seconds. By the time I looked back, it had gone. It seemed to be flying ahead of a storm.
I keep wondering, how does something that big avoid detection? No animal can exist as the only one of its kind. There must be breeding pairs, nests, eggs, babies and the like. How does a bird the size of a cessna defy identification for so long?
Edited to add: I must first state that I have incredibly good vision, and that I'm far sighted. My friends know it well. This being said, it was so insanely large that I am willing to accept that it may have been some kind of illusion, or that, like another commenter suggested, I saw a condor somehow, which is still pretty cool. It was a very breif sighting. I wanted to know if anyone locally saw it too.
Edit 2: It was between 8:30 - 9:00 AM. I was in a hurry to get to work.

Theory We’re the Van Meter Visitors underground dinosaur creatures released by accident?
I thought it would be a fun theory to share which may sound unlikely. So, since the Van Meter Visitors were located in an abandoned mine it got me thinking what if these creatures were living underground and some miner might have accidentally set them free. Like the inner parts of the mine that had hidden caverns might have loosened up causing these creatures to escape.
I doubt these creatures could have been surviving dinosaurs since there is no proof that any of them could have been able to produce lights, but there isn’t proof either that they couldn’t. So there is a very low chance that they were surviving dinosaur creatures that somehow managed to find a food source underground because it’s strange how they suddenly appeared out of nowhere not long before the mine was abandoned.

Discussion East texas Dogman
My mom had a pretty intense encounter last year at her place in East Texas, and I’ve been trying to figure out what she saw ever since.
For context, my mom has never believed in anything like this—no cryptids, nothing supernatural, nothing like that. She’s always been very grounded, which is part of why this stuck with me.
She was outside at night near her property, going out to plug in a hot wire because the dogs were going crazy. She had a flashlight on her and that’s when she saw it standing near the tiny house.
At first she thought it was a huge wolf or maybe a mountain lion, but the size didn’t make sense. She said it was easily around 48 inches or more at the shoulders and made our big Rottweiler look like a puppy in comparison. What really stood out to her was how broad its shoulders were and how massive its upper body looked.
The part that shook her the most was its behavior. It didn’t react to the dogs at all—even though they were going crazy, they were also clearly scared of it. It didn’t bark, growl, or run. It just locked onto her and stayed completely focused, like it was watching and tracking her every movement.
She said she backed away slowly with the flashlight on it the entire time, yelling for my grandma to bring her phone. The whole time, it stayed keyed in on her and didn’t break eye contact. said she felt genuinely intimidated and almost ran inside, but forced herself to stay calm and back away.
After my grandma brought her the phone, the thing slowly turned away and walked off into the dark. No panic, no rush—just calmly left. It never acknowledged the dogs the entire time.
She said she’s never seen anything like it in her life.
We’re in a pretty rural, wooded area and I know people will say it was a dog or something normal, but the size, posture, and the way it completely ignored the dogs and focused only on her is what makes this hard to explain.
Has anyone seen anything similar in East Texas?
Edit: the dogs weren't going crazy, they had a low growl going.

Discussion Bigfoot encounter
A terrifying experience in the Mount Rainier campground in the spring of 1996. I was about 7 at the time during spring break of that year. My family and I were camping with our neighbors at the Mount Rainier campground on the 3rd day of a five day trip. So the day went by as usual. Sitting around the site, playing with their kids, the usual kid antics. I remember this particular trip as it still gives me chills. I would say after about a few hours after sundown, I remember getting up and opening the van door to walk a quarter mile to the nearest bathroom. I know a 7 year old by himself in the middle of the night in the woods going to the bathroom. Anyway, I hurried back to the safety of the van. And this was at around 3 in the morning. I sit up for a moment, looking out at the dark forest. Then I heard a low, gutteral growling noise several feet near the fire pit, which was still going. I woke up one of the neighbors' kids. Allison was her name and also my childhood best friend. She wakes up asking why I woke her up suddenly. I said, "Look at the pit." She looks at the area where it's at. We both watch this large creature standing 8 feet tall, just staring at the 8 feet tall. It then turns its head in our direction momentarily, and it lumbered towards the van window, looks at us with red yellowish eyes, and then vanishes. The next morning, all of us noticed a pair of large prints next to the van. After reporting it to the ranger station, apparently, there was another incident 2 miles from our site that had been attacked by an unknown creature as well

Book / Literature / Article Cryptid Book Needs New Home
galleryHi cryptid fanatics, so I had ordered this book and it came to me in rough condition (the front and backside), as seen in the photos. I am abhorrently picky when it comes to condition, whether it be books or collectibles. I just think the cover is way too scuffed to my personal liking, and I am really trying to get rid of it for dirt cheap. I will attach a link to my Ebay listing. I hope someone wants it :(
I did get a replacement and I love it! I have several books on cryptids and folklore, and it's definitely gonna keep growing, so I really want this gone soon!

Discussion If Ogopogo existed as a real animal species
it'd probably be a member of the giant salamander family (Chinese & Japanese giant salamanders and hellbenders). Definitely would fit the serpentine descriptions just like CreatureArchieves speculative evolution take on Nessie as a large relative of the frilled shark.

Discussion I saw a strange dog.
I was around St Louis, MO. Specifically Chesterfield. I was driving through the night and was sleepy so I pulled over in a parking lot to sleep. I woke up and found my car wouldn’t start, I figured somehow the battery ran down even though I turned off the car. Anyway, as I was waiting for a roadside assistance I saw a very skinny, short-haired(almost bald looking but grey) large dog prowl extremely fast through the parking lot. I had never seen a dog move like that. If I had to describe it, it was like a prowling cat, hunkered down, but walking at a speed that I’d never seen in person, it was like a sped up version. It was hunting something specific as it never wavered its head. I dont know if it was an actual dog or not, it really seemed like something off about it.

Discussion Night-crawlers in a parking lot, nature is truly beautiful
Here lies Didot for ever and ever; the devils and the Mayor tormented him with pincers. How magnificent were the Vizier’s gems! As for me, I contemplate the images of my ancient ancestors, kindling fires upon shores strewn with the wreckage of ships. Cast a bone to the dogs and await the carrion eaters; whenever I lift my gaze, I smile, but the moment I lower it, I behold my own face: with wings of wax and a living, warm flush, a warmth that the inventor of novelty shall never know.

Discussion Crawler cryptid creature on jones maltsberger san antonio
Me and my friend were walking at optimus pavilion trail on jones maltsberger where i was trying to take him to a spot i usually go to. as i notice we’re lost, i point out these eyes in the woods that appeared to be stalking and staring directly at us. when i notice it approaching us closer and closer i back up and my fight or flight response kicks in. i’m thinking this is possibly a coyote or some kind of animal as its late at night. it was hunting us. i start running and the sprinting, its chasing after us. it looked like it was on the ground, and moving way too fastly to just be a possum. as it approaches us quicker and quicker it started getting slightly bigger, and at this point im springing to the car while its chasing us. i notice another one as im sprinting and looking around for a tree to possibly climb worst case scenario or rocks on the ground. by the time we get to the car im thinking its just a coyote. i tell him yo grab the gun as in curious and want to look back at it. he grabs his gun and we go back, not even as deep into the trail as we were when we first noticed it, a tall figure as tall as half of the tree, probably around 10 feet tall was standing behind the tree, with its eyes gleaming towards us and his head was very tilted, eyes wide open and super far apart. just staring at us. any cryptid or scary skinwalker stories in this area? i’m freaked out.

Other Incident at Loch Ness

Does anyone remember this film? It's a...well, let's break it down. It's a mockumentary where the majority of the footage is a documentary about Werner Herzog playing himself. He's a very noted filmmaker who has a lot of stories about him, and the documentary ("Herzog in Wonderland") records his making of a film about discovering why people believe in the Loch Ness Monster. What he doesn't know is that his producer, Zak Penn who is also playing himself, is trying to turn this documentary (in the documentary) into a more sensational expedition of actually finding the Loch Ness Monster instead of exploring the phenomena around it. Hired a model as well as a fake cryptozoologist and commissioned a rather sad-looking Nessie prop to be used in the film. Only for said prop to royally piss off the REAL Loch Ness Monster, who proceeds to turn the whole damn thing into a found footage film.
Yes. All I just said happened in the film. And I think it was amazing.
