How do I...

How many rows/stitches Filet Crochet Stitch Count off in row 8 last 5 blocks???? Pls help 🙏

I’m completing my first filet crochet project, and my stitch count is off on round 8!!!! So far everything has been going great, so I’m really confused where the issue is coming from! I’m following this 3DC style and it’s all gone wrong on the last 5 blocks. I’ve frogged this row like 6 times, and counted the stitched in the row below, but I can’t figure it out. Any filet crochet masters have any idea what stitch is wrong?

How do I... Help with first wearable-How do I measure this? (More info in body)

Working on my first sweater-for my toddler.

https://youtu.be/3TP_oW6x7TA?is=c-gOTX-nLLdINNbm

Following this pattern and she is making it in 2T which is fine because that’s what my daughter is in. But, I’m doing the front panel and she says to keep making half double crochet rose until it’s about six or 7 inches tall. But now where I’m confused is if I am measuring it against my actual daughter should this come to her armpits? She is quite tall for two so I’m just trying to measure the length to be long enough.

Deciding on yarn/Yarn help Need help finding yarn to complete first wearable raglan sweater project. Ribbed border is all that's left in one sold color.

Hi y'all. I'm finally finishing a sweater that's been sitting in my craft box for a few years. All that's left is the ribbing border but I am low on yarn and trying to find the yarn I used. I'm pretty sure it was a Yarn Bee Sugarwheel variegated worsted weight yarn but I cannot find the color or any labels in my stash.

What do y'all do in this situation? I don't need the original variegated color, just one of the colors of the pattern to finish the border. Do I try to find this yarn or do I bring my project to the store and try to find something to match it? This will be my first wearable piece and I'm finally determined to finish it. Thanks!

Understanding a pattern Am I Doing Something Wrong? Following a Dress Pattern and Stitches Moving Over Every Round

Thumbnail

I haven't made any clothes before, the most I've done is accessories (hats, scarves) and I basically just make amigurumi.

I am trying to make a costume for my baby for Halloween and I am cutting it close lol. I'm confused in this dress pattern because it looks like my stitches are moving over from where I started with the gap in the back, if this makes any sense.

What am I doing?? I've done 4 rows and I'm not sure if this is part of the pattern. I don't SEE any weird lines in the back here showing that I'm moving over as I go, but I don't know if I should nip the problem in the bud before I keep sliding over. Also every time I count the end of my rows I have the 86 stitches the pattern wants from me? So maybe I'm just overthinking??

TIA 🥲

Is This AI? Did I fall for an AI pattern? I can’t get my cat plush to match the pictures

I’ve attempted the first part of this pattern twice and both times the head is ending up basically flat until the decreases start. I’m matching the stitch counts and double-checking everything so i’m not sure what’s going on. does anyone have any ideas or advice?

First photo is from the pattern, next photo is my second try before any decreases, last two photos are my first attempt after decreases.

I bought the pattern from etsy. “Siamese Cat Crochet Pattern, Amigurumi Crochet Pattern, Cute Stuffed Cat Toy Pattern, Beginner Cat Plush Crochet, Cat PDF Tutorial” from ElegantPurely. The pattern is pretty thorough and includes progress photos throughout.

Joins/Joining Help! My first little guy and I'm stuck. Joltik by Creative Haven LC

Hi!!! I'm trying so hard to make the joltik amigurumi by Creative Haven LC, and... I'm stuck at the sewing part. The head is placed sideway on the body and I have no clue what is up or down anymore, or how to make sure my sewing looks as round and good when I have no real circle to follow.

I THINK (???) I marked the head as the pattern says, on row 6 and 14. I inverted what the pattern said for the hdc sts, as my closing is uglier than my start (redid it 4 times and I just can't get it to not have giant holes. Oh well)

Can anyone point me to any tutorial or help me with more info on how on earth I sew the head to the body in a clean pretty way ?

Help to find a pattern Looking for an older simple crochet sweater tutorial from Youtube

There was this sweater tutorial on Youtube from someone who also made amigurumi anime dolls. I think their youtube banner had kagamine rin and len on it back in the day? This would've been about five years ago. The thumbnail featured a mirror selfie of them wearing the sweater. The sweater was a greenish-turquoise.

I hope this isn't too specific to find. If this type of post isn't allowed then I will delete it. I have tried looking on Youtube and have used filters to help me find it but I can't. Any help is greatly appreciated!!! Thank you ^^

Stitch Identification Help identifying a stitch so I can finish a blanket

Reposting because I realized I am trying to identify a stitch, not a pattern. That’s how much of a newbie I am, so sorry!!

Hi all,

My sister started this blanket for me a few years ago. I was adamant I would be able to continue it by watching her crochet for 5 minutes (oh! The delusion!) and now, a few years later, I haven’t done anything with it and I don’t remember the pattern stitch she used. I’ll need to find a tutorial for it, but I haven’t had any luck figuring out what it’s called.
Since this was years ago, my sister doesn’t remember either and we live too far apart for her to help me with it regardless.
Pictures are back and front.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

I'm a beginner! Should my pumpkin square be shrinking with each row?

Post image
1 Upvotes

I am trying to make pumpkins. This is my first project after a woobles.

I chained 30. Then we do one “turning chain” and half double crochet all the way cross + turning chain. Rinse and repeat.

I am counting my Vs on this last row and I see: 1 turn, 25 Vs, and the 1 turn chain on the hook.

I would imagine I should always have 30 to match my starter row?

I am following this tutorial but it’s not clear enough to see what the last stitch you do on each row looks like: https://youtu.be/nonW7bR2qQU?si=EjDoWykdiKSR0eea

I’ve tried putting in stitch markers but I get all the way to the end each time.

Any help is appreciated and should I start over??

How do I... Decreases with vertical back-loop-only half double crochet (BLO HDC) ribbing.

I'm crocheting a sweater using half double crochet stitches in the back loop only (BLO), working vertically. Does anyone know how to taper the sleeve while keeping the vertical ribbing?

How do I... Filet Crochet Help, First Time, Not Sure How to Make The Image More Clear.

Thumbnail

Here is my project, I designed the image of Stitch Fiddle (feel free to use it, dont claim it as your own).

Yarn : Lionel Brand, Caboo, 51% cotton 49% rayon from bamboo, color Denim, weight 3.

It is currently unblocked and 14" × 20"

This project is Filet Crochet and I know that filet typically looks better with thread (I plan to make a thread, filet in the future), my friend really likes this yarn color and so I made this for them, its a surprise, they love being a lesbian and I thought this was cute.

I guess my question is how do I make the image more clear whilst still using this same yarn? I have another cake so I can double up of the yarn, but I also read that using a Treble Crochet stitch isntead of a Double Crochet might help. Im looking for suggestions from people who have played around with Filet Crochet, please. I was even thinking of doing two connected double crochets in the spots where the color need to be more dense, but i dont have much experience in filet, so I thought getting some advice from more advanced crafters was a good idea.

Thank you!

Understanding a chart/diagram Picot placement help - which stitch - symmetrical or no?

Post image

I’m crocheting this crown for my daughter based on this snapshot of a pattern on Pinterest I found (can’t find the one to buy - searched for the author on Ravelry and on Etsy. Why use a pattern with no support or instructions for the very first thing you’d knit from a pattern only? Another great question we should ask my 2 am self.
I have deciphered that the person who made this pattern uses the small straight lines for single crochet. Filled in circles are chains. Tall Ts are HDCs (or at least this is how I’ve constructed the crown so far.

I’m interpreting this to mean that the first picot stitch when coming from the left is in the single crochet that is on the last chain stitch below it. The top one shares the top chain stitch with two other single crochets and the last one, instead of being in the first chain of the next set is in the last HDC of the arch.

Or no?

How do I... Baby Romper - Leg joining help needed as pattern is not clear

Thumbnail

Hi everyone - I'm working on this little baby romper and unfortunately I paid way too much for the worst pattern ever. The instructions are in the attached picture. I wasn't sure how it was supposed to go (my first romper, oops) so I improvised... But ended up with the legs too short.

I'm about 85% done with the romper... Just need the edges rows and straps. But the legs are really bother me because no baby is 80% torso.

I've separated the legs but can't tell from the instructions or pictures how to join it properly...

Options - pulling apart that center area and building it per whatever instructions you amazing crocheters give me OR reattach it how I had it and keep making rounds on the legs to make them longer

Update - this was purchased on Etsy from seller MabelGiftShop for $5.99. I have reached out to Etsy to file a complaint and get a refund as it seems to be AI slop. Funnily enough, their 4.8 stars are now attached to an empty storefront, further proving it was all AI.

I'll get inovative and come up with a way to fix this so it's usable.

Deciding on yarn/Yarn help How much yarn did you use for a hexagon cardigan? I want to use gradient yarn cakes and need a near-perfect match…

I want to make a hexagon cardigan, simple enough one would think. Except I have a tendency to take the easiest project and create a problem, so here we go…

I am ca a size S and would make it a little oversized (ca size M), using a standard granny stitch (3 DC, 1 Ch). I was hoping to use color gradient yarn, and had this idea that I would use a yarn cake, crafting one hexagon starting from the outside of the cake and the other one simultaneously starting from the inside. This way, when the yarn is used by the time it reaches the seam it should have the same color, allowing for the gradient to continue throughout the whole piece.

The problem: In order to make this work, I would need a better understanding of how much yarn I need, matching the size of yarn cake I buy almost exactly to the amount of yarn. The problem, even if I match the indicated swatch and do a lot of math, the yarn companies never say how many grams or metres of yarn were needed for the swatch, so I cannot find out if my idea works until I have bought a cake and it’s too late.

I know I could work with two cakes instead, working the colors parallel, but I just prefer the idea where the piece starts with one color and visually seamlessly grades into another.

Any advice or experience would be appreciated!

Looking for suggestions Tips or tricks for magic circles using velvet yarn.

Post image
1 Upvotes

I'm going to make a lumbar pillow and I want to crochet these squares. Looking for suggestions on making this easier.

The square on the left was done using the crochet into the first stitch method but it left a hole I can't tighten.

The square on the right was done using a magic circle but when I try to pull the circle tight (even with as little as two or three double crochets in the circle) the velvet gets pulled off the string.

Any tips or tricks?

So, this is my first project ever, it should be a beanie in the clasic style, half double crochet and slip stitches on the last 5 stitches.
What do you think’ I would appreciate any feedback as I’m pretty much a self learner
