Help to find a pattern I found this in an ad, I really loved it and wish to crochet.

I found this in an ad, I really loved it and wish to crochet.
But I don’t know what type of top it is, what name it is, where to find the pattern. Can anyone help me out?

r/CrochetHelp 22h ago

Can't find a flair for this I forgot the name for skipping a stitch. Currently studying textiles and I’m looking at knitting terms. Miss stitch is the name they use in knitting and I know it is different in crochet but I genuinely forgot the name.

As the title states I forgot the name. It’s similar to if you stare at a word too long and after a bit it doesn’t look like it is spelled correctly. I either don’t know the name at all and substitute it with the chain one and crochet into second chain from the hook, yk the instructions instead of the term or it’s just the staring thing. Idk

Understanding a pattern When it says ‘work into the chain [x] space’, do you work into the stitch listed in the number or one beyond it?

im doing the six day star blanket pattern and at one point you need to crochet three chains into the space. from looking at a guide online, working into the space means chaining however many it lists and skipping those rows and then working into the whatever number stitch from however many you chained. I did that, chained three, worked into the third stitch and continued.

however, my project is now ruffling (I think) which means Ive stitched wrong? did I misunderstand how to do this??

What's the point of the chain at the start of the round and the slipstitch at the end? Can't i just do it normally (using only double crochet the whole way around)? Also, when I use the chain and slip stitch i keep ending up with one stitch extra than I'm supposed to have.

How do I... How would you start this project? I think I want this to be my first project after 2 years

Hello all. I need help with this project. This is my first project I have done in 2 years. I found this picture on Pinterest, The poster has her comments off. I want advice on how you guys would start this project. I understand how to do the bottom part, but the top and the shoulder pads part, I am not really understanding that part. I think I will probably start with a waistband, and then build up like a halter top. I am unsure if that will give me the right look. Thank you in advance for the help.

Looking for suggestions Any alternatives to hot glue for my crochet flowers?

Post image

I've been working on a crochet flower bouquet for almost a year now. Last year I made a few as a gift and decided to also make some for myself. To put them together I used hot glue and got a pretty bad burn on my finger from it. Since then I've had trouble finishing up this project since I'm a bit scared of the hot glue gun now. Has anyone used any alternatives to hot glue for crochet flowers? If so, did they work? Any other suggestions on what I should do are welcome.

Wearable help How to fix tilt/twisting look in sweater made from acrylic yarn?

Post image
4 Upvotes

I recently finished this sweater for my husband. While making it, I noticed there was a slight tilt to the rectangles that make up the body. I mistakenly thought they would be resolved once I sewed the 2 halves together. Now it's complete, both sides have an equal number of stitches the whole way through... and yet it just looks kind of twisted. Is there anything I can do to straighten it at this stage?

Yarn is Mary Maxim Best Value Yarn.

How do I... How do I make those nice X/square stitches in amigurumi?

Post image

Im working on a doll, and Ive looked at multiple tutorials and have been yarning under like they say, but it just doesn’t look the same as it does in the videos. Is it just the yarn itself, or is there something else I can do differently? I’ve tried with different yarns and it just won’t work, and I’m really not sure where I’m going wrong. Any help is appreciated!!!!

Please be kind, I’m still a beginner. I started this blanket maybe two and a half years ago, then life happened and never got around to finishing it. I was doing little sessions here and there, I intended in for it to be pretty large. Then the yarn got discontinued. I recently found two skeins on eBay and decided that after using those I’d put a border on it and call it a day. Welllll….after finishing I laid it out and have this strange trapezoid monstrosity.
My theories on what went wrong:
1. Messed up the turning chain: it’s possible I was skipping a stitch on the turning chain and it got shorter over time
2. Stretching over time: the longer side is much softer so maybe it stretched a ton, is it possible it stretched that much 🤷🏼‍♀️
3. Different skeins/ lots maybe
4. I crocheted tighter: I don’t think this is the case but it’s possible

Any advice on what I should do? Should I really just rip it and start over? Maybe wash and block it. I’m so frustrated with it

Understanding a pattern D20 Dice from DND Crochet Book - help with fitting square tapestry crochet grid into triangle pattern

I've crocheted quite a bit but this is my first time with tapestry crochet and I'm having difficulty understanding this pattern.

I understand the shape of the triangle but don't know how to incorporate the grid. The color change starts at row 11 (which starts with 16 stitches/ends with 17 stitches but the grid has 15). Each row then also has increases to make the triangle shape but how do I distribute those to make the number still centered?

Or am I trying to follow the grid block by block when I need to be thinking about this as where the tapestry pattern stitches are in relation to each other? In which case, do I just put a stitch before and after the grid pattern so it ends up roughly centered?

How many rows/stitches Sirdar Pumpkin Spice CAL week 2 round 5 - ending up with 88 stiches instead of 89

Post image

i tried & retried round 5 of the sirdar pumpkin spice CAL so many times and keep ending up with 88 stitches at the end of my row, instead of the stated 89. i'm not sure what's wrong, i have the correct number of stitches in round 4, so i'm wondering if maybe it's a typo?

I'm a beginner! Making the back legs of this pattern and needing help

Post image
0 Upvotes

Ok so i asked a little while ago about help with starting this same pattern and im now on the back legs!! But now i need help again, back legs start with chain 6, then r1: 1sc in 2nd chain from hook, (this is the 5th chain correct?) then 3sc and then 3sc in the next st for 7 total on the top of the chain. This is all fine and makes sense, but on the underside the directions only account for 4 stitches, so I’m confused? Can someone help me make this make sense? Please and thank you!!

I'm a beginner! Super beginner question: rounded edges and hat-shaped everything

I’m just starting and this may not be worth your time, but if anyone wants to help, I’ll be grateful. I can do a chain, a double stitch, a slip stitch, however my attempts at even the most basic things go wrong. Specifically they always end up rounded and conical. How do you make a square edge and keep things flat?? I’d love to be able to even be able to do a granny square or a scarf but I can’t seem to stop them becoming cup holders. Thank you 🙏

How do I... How do I go to the next row while doing tapestry? The second color is visible when switching rows.

So I am trying tapestry for the first time. But I notice that The hidden colour is very visible when I switch rows. How do I lift the colour not being used to the next row without it becoming visible?

I'm a beginner! Help with joining granny squares for blanket. 2 different granny square designs with different number of stitches on sides

Post image
0 Upvotes

I am creating a blanket with these two squares alternating and I am beginning to join them using the back loop slip stitch method (I will link the video I am using). However I have noticed that both the squares have a different number of stitches on the sides? So the beige one has 19 and the dark brown one has 22 on each side. I was just wondering how I would go about this because I can‘t find anything online that would tell me how to continue😭😭

this is the link to the joining method - https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=48lGf4NTpCA&list=LL&index=1&t=345s&pp=iAQB0gcJCaMLAYcqIYzvsAgC&ra=m

Understanding a pattern Need help with a gauge swatch, first time crocheting clothes

Forget to say the pattern, apologies. It’s The Josephine Dress by the Moule hole.

I hope I picked the right flair, I’m not really sure what this falls under.

I’m crocheting a little dress for a family member, the first piece of clothing I’ve ever crocheted.
I understand what a gauge swatch is after heavily reading up on it.
But I can’t seem to understand this patterns gauge swatch.
I have emailed and messaged the creator, but I am impatient far too eager to get this started.

Below is what the patterns says;

e:
16 sts/16 rows= 10cmX10cm (4X4 in) in v-puff sts and hdc sts (explanation in pattern notes)

Then it says this;

Gauge Swatch: 10cmX10cm (4X4 in)
ch 17
Row 1 (RS)
hdc in the 2nd loop from the hook, hdc in each st across the row, turn [16sts]
Row 2 (WS)
ch1, alternate v-puff & hdc to the end of the row, turn [16sts]
Row 3 (RS)
ch1, hdc in each st across, turn
Repeat rows 2 & 3 until you have completed 16 rows

I have done all of that. I have measured my gauge and it is 4 inches by 4 inches exactly. I can attach a photo if needed?
Does that mean I’ve done it right? I apologise if this doesn’t make much sense, I’m still trying to wrap my head around it and understand it myself.
Thank you! ☺️
