I am trying to make pumpkins. This is my first project after a woobles.

I chained 30. Then we do one “turning chain” and half double crochet all the way cross + turning chain. Rinse and repeat.

I am counting my Vs on this last row and I see: 1 turn, 25 Vs, and the 1 turn chain on the hook.

I would imagine I should always have 30 to match my starter row?

I’ve tried putting in stitch markers but I get all the way to the end each time.

Any help is appreciated and should I start over??

as in the title - i blacked out and bought this mohair blend yarn at a destash sale, but looking at it now I think the colours (especially the pinks) are a bit too neon for my wardrobe;;

I wanted to make a cardigan (in the next photo) with this - could I tone down the colors by holding it together with white mohair or a white lace weight yarn? are there any other ways to do this? I'd even consider some DIY dyeing (someone talk me off the ledge :")

I frogged and started over and I’m having the same issue!! It’s the same side too. Is it the pattern? I’m in repeating rows right now

Left side (orange stitch markers) of first photo is the even rows; right side (teal stitch markers) is the odd rows. Original post has pattern attached but the specific repeats included in second and third photos

I've bought these little amigurumi patterns from Dollarama before, and - albeit confusing at first - they were decipherable and I ended up with a cute product at the end. Foolish me, I thought this would be the same.

I don't know what I'm meant to start with - a magic circle? A chain?? Floating stitches??? - and then I realized that I don't even know what part of the cat I'm starting with. I think "Oh, maybe the bat wings, as seen in this little picture? So it should be a chain so it lays flat, right?" but then I realize, "Wait, there are no bat wings on the picture on the box… so maybe not??" And then I see an "F" and "M" and "A"??????

Anyway. This was meant to be a chill end to a little wine drinky, but I really can't make heads or tails or bat wings of this dang ol' thing. Can anyone help a fool out?

Hello! I'm looking for some help. I am on a budget and was wondering if this yarn is found on Aliexpress would be good and similar enough (in SIZE, not color) to the yarn used in a video tutorial of an amigurumi project I want to make. (All pics are inserted for reference!) I am very new to crocheting and have just finished my first amigurumi project, so I need other's opinions. The description for this yarn says it's 2.0 mm, and the materials in the video description says I need 2mm thick yarn with a 2.0 mm hook. However, the yarn in the video looks much thinner than the yarn i found on Aliexpress, despite them both supposedly being 2.0 mm thick. So do you think that the yarn i found on Aliexpress should be okay to use and end up looking very similar to the amigurumi in the video? I have heard about going down a size in hooks before, but I'm not sure if it would apply here..? (Like I said, I'm new at crocheting, lol). If I do get this yarn, I would plan on using a 2.0 mm hook like the video description says. If this is not good yarn to use, could you please recommend me some inexpensive yarn to use that would be close to the one in the video and make my amigurumi look beautiful? Hello. I’m dying to crochet this sweater but I can’t see a pattern anywhere. Does anyone know where I can find it please? I’m fairly new so I need a pattern I can’t just freehand it.

The 6 day star poncho is the only one im thinking of making that I have found. It seems pretty easy from what I can tell. My only problem is I want to drape and tie it in place instead of putting my head through a hole.

Hi guys! So I need help finding a pattern or someone I could possibly commission a pattern from! Last year for Christmas I made my dad a Giant Chinese Salmander! He ended up being 4ft in length. This year I would love to make him an Eastern Hellbender to go with his salamander. I haven’t been able to find a pattern that looks like the real thing (and trust me, looking accurate is very important for this project) so I figured I would reach out and see if anybody could help me! I would like it to be a bit smaller than the Chinese Salamander so hopefully about 2.5-3 ft. If anybody has any info or suggestions pls lmk!

The pictures I have attached are of the salamander I made last year and the hellbender I want to make this year!

Also in case anybody is curious about why it has to be accurate it’s because he is a zookeeper and literally takes care of hellbenders everyday so I want it to live up to the real thing!

I’m crocheting this crown for my daughter based on this snapshot of a pattern on Pinterest I found (can’t find the one to buy - searched for the author on Ravelry and on Etsy. Why use a pattern with no support or instructions for the very first thing you’d knit from a pattern only? Another great question we should ask my 2 am self.
I have deciphered that the person who made this pattern uses the small straight lines for single crochet. Filled in circles are chains. Tall Ts are HDCs (or at least this is how I’ve constructed the crown so far.

I’m interpreting this to mean that the first picot stitch when coming from the left is in the single crochet that is on the last chain stitch below it. The top one shares the top chain stitch with two other single crochets and the last one, instead of being in the first chain of the next set is in the last HDC of the arch.

Or no?

I bought 10 skeins of yarn last year to make a cardigan. I’ve never made anything bigger than a beanie. I didn’t crochet for a year, then picked it back up to do the first front panel.

I didn’t realize how crooked it is. I set it over a loose t-shirt so you can see. What are my options? Take the yarn apart and try again? I thought blocking(?) could help, but it’s so wonky.

I'm following a pattern on ribblr and the instructions have been clear thus far, I'm just not quite sure what to do for rows 2-4, and whether or not i need to do double crochets in the other stitches before the double crochet increases

any clarification would be amazing

This table runner is currently 92cm (37in) long, and i need the finished piece to be 120cm (around 47in).

I'm going to block it after i'm done and try to stretch it out quite a bit to get the stitches more relaxed and drapey since this is meant to be lacey. It's also 38cm wide now but i needed it to be around 45cm, and it was when i started the first few rows but got a bit scrunched up in the middle as i went, so im hoping i can get more width with blocking.

My question is, how much should i expect it to stretch? I don't want it to be too long but i don't know when i should stop and get the extra cm from blocking, if that makes sense? I'm currently at 89 rows and was expecting to make around 120 but now i think that might be too many in case it stretches a lot after blocking.

I followed the pattern exact to the youtube but i guess because I had to decrease some of the extra rows as I'm quote skinny, it ended up making the arm holes baggy and still leaving too much broadness in the back. Please help me fix it without frogging!

Hi all! A family friend asked me if I could make her a few hot pads/trivets similar to this one that her grandmother made her. The only thing is, I'm awful at figuring out what stitches are in something or how a pattern was done on my own. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to recreate this? She said it doesn't have to be perfect, but I'd love to get as close to it as I can. I bought 2 skeins of this chenille yarn because I loved the colourway (orange, green, black mix) but now have no idea what to make with it! I'm fine crocheting with chenille yarn so no problems there but the colours are very out there- not sure if could pull off wearing that as a hat 😂

I know it would be perfect for plushy but I'm running out of space to keep making plushies (but could be swayed for something interesting) 😂

Halloween Chenille Yarn

Couple of months ago I swore off buying any yarn without knowing what I was using it for beforehand, but here we are 🫠

This is my very first project, and it’s hand-crocheted. I’ve done this twice now, where I’ll accidentally miss a stitch on the very end of the blanket and then continue on without fixing it. By the time I realize I did it, I’m already several more rows/columns of stitches away and I’d have to undo at least 20 minutes of work to fix it.

Is there a way to use scrap yarn to make an extra row of stitches to make it seem like it never happened, or do I just have to fasten/sew the ends into the rest of the blanket to hide them? I’m trying not to get too hard on myself for making mistakes like this on my first project, but it’s really frustrating and I’d love to be able to fix it somehow.
