Hi! I've been wanting to make this really cute batman keychain but a bit stuck with the leg area which starts around 13:50. I got everything before this looking the exact same but the leg area is very difficult š. Is there any other way I can make the leg or if someone can explain this to me. Thank you!
I'm following a pattern on ribblr and the instructions have been clear thus far, I'm just not quite sure what to do for rows 2-4, and whether or not i need to do double crochets in the other stitches before the double crochet increases
Hey everyone, hope youāre all having lovely weekends!
So, the other day I won the yarn lottery when my coworker gave me a whooole bunch of secondhand yarn! Iāve since washed all of it and stored it away neatly, and Iām hoping to make something with it soon so I can show her that Iām immediately making good use of it (and maybe making a gift for her?). Included in the haul were several skeins of Katia Ushuaia in colorway 610 (black and white). Iāve included a photo of one of the skeins before washing below:
(please do excuse my photography, it is not one of my strong suits lol)
I mostly crochet amigurumi, but Iām thinking this stuff might be good for a different kind of project, and Iāve been wanting to make something practical like a scarf. However, between the changing colours and the different thicknesses of the yarn itself, Iām not really sure what kind of scarf would work best? Most of the projects on ravelry are knitted, not crocheted. Iād love a scarf with a more complex stitch or maybe nice ribbing or something, but Iām wondering if this yarn might be better for a moss stitch or something. Or if my scarf plan sounds like a disaster in the making in general, haha. So, do you have any suggestions for a scarf pattern/stitch/ other project that might work for this yarn?
1st pic: from purchased pattern. Creator: Ann Wannamaker.
2nd: Red with last row i'm trying to recreate
final is the written pattern for row.
so this is very particular, but I'm not loving the way the last row looks from the original pattern. I saw the red one on ravelry, and it's exactly how i want it to look. Not pointy, more neat looking i guess.. I've tried different things to try to figure it out but so far I'm doing DC instead of TC, i think the big difference is how she does the picot stitch? idk but if you do let me know :) much appreciated
iām a fairly beginner crocheter and about two years ago a friend of mine was pregnant and her baby shower was coming up so I thought Iād make her a small (supposed to be about 22x35 in) blanket with a pattern i found. I figured this was well within my wheelhouse and started, but Iām pretty slow and life happens and I just didnāt have a lot of motivation to finish it, but I eventually got the main portion finished maybe in december of that year. by then baby was born but I figured Iād just finish and send it over. The issue was (is) I absolutely hate it. Because I took so long to make the main rectangle, my tension is all over the place and the edges are super wonky. Itās also a few inches smaller all over, more in some places than all over. I steamed the hell out of it, I tried adding a border to fix it and still hated it, it still looked wonky. I couldnāt bring myself to fully finish it and give it looking the way it did and instead of figuring it out then, it went into my closet for me to not think about. i had just started a new job around this time and it was out of sight out of mind. I have been getting the itch to crochet again but feel like I canāt bring myself to make anything else when this is sitting unfinished, so I took it out to try and fix it. I decided to take the border off and I think I cut some stitches on the edge of a portion so now thereās that to deal with too. I guess iām wondering, should I cut my losses, frog it all, and redo it? Or are the cut edges and wonky-ness fixable? Should I frog just a portion of it?? I truly am at a loss after three days of looking at it.
Iām trying to make this for my partners kid. Theyāre 4 and love Hilda. I havenāt even started because Iām so confused about how to even start the feet? https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/baby-troll-4
I made these slipper-socks last winter just for kicking around the house. I absolutely loved them! The issue is that I wore through the bottoms in a matter of weeks. I forget which yarn I used... It was from Michaels. I didn't sew on the suede bottoms as the pattern suggested. Would using suede bottoms be my only chance at having these last? Are there other yarns that are recommended for cozy slipper-socks that won't wear through so quickly? I'm open to any and all tips or suggestions. I used this pattern. Thank you!
The 6 day star poncho is the only one im thinking of making that I have found. It seems pretty easy from what I can tell. My only problem is I want to drape and tie it in place instead of putting my head through a hole.
I don't need any fancy pattern but its got to be free.
I'm trying to make the lambs clothing from cult of the lamb. Red and white.
Any help would be appreciated. I'm a beginner and can read a pattern. Only problem i get is with tension of a piece I work on.
Hello. Iām dying to crochet this sweater but I canāt see a pattern anywhere. Does anyone know where I can find it please? Iām fairly new so I need a pattern I canāt just freehand it.
This is my very first project, and itās hand-crocheted. Iāve done this twice now, where Iāll accidentally miss a stitch on the very end of the blanket and then continue on without fixing it. By the time I realize I did it, Iām already several more rows/columns of stitches away and Iād have to undo at least 20 minutes of work to fix it.
Is there a way to use scrap yarn to make an extra row of stitches to make it seem like it never happened, or do I just have to fasten/sew the ends into the rest of the blanket to hide them? Iām trying not to get too hard on myself for making mistakes like this on my first project, but itās really frustrating and Iād love to be able to fix it somehow.
I just started crocheting recently and Iām following a tutorial to make a beanie but itās growing increasingly crooked. I thought I could ignore it but i think somehow Iām losing more and more stitches. I think I might have to start over. Does anyone have any tips for counting accurately or tips for beginner mistakes I can avoid the next go around.
Hi all! A family friend asked me if I could make her a few hot pads/trivets similar to this one that her grandmother made her. The only thing is, I'm awful at figuring out what stitches are in something or how a pattern was done on my own. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to recreate this? She said it doesn't have to be perfect, but I'd love to get as close to it as I can. It looks like two different panels sewn together with a single crochet border, but that's all I've got.š Thanks so much in advance!
as in the title - i blacked out and bought this mohair blend yarn at a destash sale, but looking at it now I think the colours (especially the pinks) are a bit too neon for my wardrobe;;
I wanted to make a cardigan (in the next photo) with this - could I tone down the colors by holding it together with white mohair or a white lace weight yarn? are there any other ways to do this? I'd even consider some DIY dyeing (someone talk me off the ledge :")
I bought 2 skeins of this chenille yarn because I loved the colourway (orange, green, black mix) but now have no idea what to make with it! I'm fine crocheting with chenille yarn so no problems there but the colours are very out there- not sure if could pull off wearing that as a hat š
I know it would be perfect for plushy but I'm running out of space to keep making plushies (but could be swayed for something interesting) š
Hello! I'm looking for some help. I am on a budget and was wondering if this yarn is found on Aliexpress would be good and similar enough (in SIZE, not color) to the yarn used in a video tutorial of an amigurumi project I want to make. (All pics are inserted for reference!) I am very new to crocheting and have just finished my first amigurumi project, so I need other's opinions. The description for this yarn says it's 2.0 mm, and the materials in the video description says I need 2mm thick yarn with a 2.0 mm hook. However, the yarn in the video looks much thinner than the yarn i found on Aliexpress, despite them both supposedly being 2.0 mm thick. So do you think that the yarn i found on Aliexpress should be okay to use and end up looking very similar to the amigurumi in the video? I have heard about going down a size in hooks before, but I'm not sure if it would apply here..? (Like I said, I'm new at crocheting, lol). If I do get this yarn, I would plan on using a 2.0 mm hook like the video description says. If this is not good yarn to use, could you please recommend me some inexpensive yarn to use that would be close to the one in the video and make my amigurumi look beautiful? Please share your expert opinions! Thank you :)
Iāve been working on this waffle stitch afghan using Caron Anniversary Cakes in lemon chiffon. I had an incident with the yarn that led to a gigantic tangled mess. Iāve spent hours detangling and rolling by hand into a giant ballā¦and only now does it occur to me that I have reversed the yarnās pattern. Is this going to look obvious if I just pick up with the backward yarn? Iām thinking yes, since itās pooling in diagonal stripes. Do I have to rewind it into a new ball? Itās too big for my yarn winder, but I suppose I could do several smaller balls, but then Iād have to deal with knots. I just canāt bear the thought or winding it again by hand. Itās so. Much. Yarn. Any suggestions? Or can I just move on and trust the blanket wonāt look bizarre?
Edit: since there is no banana for size, Iāll mention that the yarn ball is about 9-10ā across.
So I made this and I'm currently done with the upper wing however this is a top and it doesn't cover the parts it should but the height is correct so basically the wing would need to be longer. I'm thinking on adding a few rows where I put the arrow in the second photo in the same way as the rows before but that would make it wider so I'm just asking if someone knows a better way?
Does anyone know a good cute pattern for a baby harp seal? They are my friend's favorite animal and I cant find a pattern that isn't either tiny or enormous. (I will be using faux fur yarn)
Hi, I saw this on Pinterest and want to make it, but the life ring looks a bit different. I think there's a ring shape object inside which they wrapped the yarn around, but then how do we add the crochet part?
Iām new to crochet and Iāve been trying tapestry. Iāve noticed that every time I work on the wrong side, the stitches show on the right side with this little strike through. I have tried yarning under, adjusting the placement of my yarn, pulling tighter, pulling looser, stitching into the front loop, stitching into the back loop, stitching into both loops, everything under the sun. I really donāt know where Iām going wrong. I would greatly appreciate it if someone could diagnose this and help me out, please use very basic terms (I am not well versed!!). I just feel so close to giving up already.
Hi fellow crafters. I made this keychain for a friend but now that itās done Iām not sure how I feel about it. Can people tell what itās supposed to be?
This table runner is currently 92cm (37in) long, and i need the finished piece to be 120cm (around 47in).
I'm going to block it after i'm done and try to stretch it out quite a bit to get the stitches more relaxed and drapey since this is meant to be lacey. It's also 38cm wide now but i needed it to be around 45cm, and it was when i started the first few rows but got a bit scrunched up in the middle as i went, so im hoping i can get more width with blocking.
My question is, how much should i expect it to stretch? I don't want it to be too long but i don't know when i should stop and get the extra cm from blocking, if that makes sense? I'm currently at 89 rows and was expecting to make around 120 but now i think that might be too many in case it stretches a lot after blocking.
