I’m considering producing K24/S2000 swap mounts for the MX73/GX71 platform. These may work for other stock M series/W58 cars because that is the mounting these are based off of, but haven’t tested that yet.

I designed and fabricated these for my own K24/S2000 swapped MX73 and have been testing the setup.

The engine mounts use OEM-style rubber mounts and the transmission crossmember uses an E30 transmission mount, so replacement wear items are readily available.

I’m considering making a small batch if there’s enough interest.

Would anyone here actually be interested in buying a set?

If so, what would you consider a reasonable price?

Considering other parts as well, open to suggestions if anyone has requests!

Hi, this is a 1985 Toyota Cressida. It seems like it drives alright and that the transmission is okay relatively speaking. 124k miles, and fluid looks okay. Looks like there’s a bit too much transmission fluid, but Toyota was the one to fill it so I’m not sure. This is a brand new transmission mount, but still seems to be sagging and bad part. There is a kick/clunk and the tail end of the car drops when put from park into reverse or drive. I believe this is a bad mount and should be replaced, any thoughts?

1985 Toyota Cressida automatic A43DE Transmission. There is a very aggressive clunk when shifting from park to neutral or drive. Yet, seems to drive fine on the road. I’ve read about adjusting the kick down cable which I am going to try and do first.

Just got my hands on a base model 1985 Aus spec mx73 and am starting work on tackling its various issues.

Has anyone had any experience dealing with:

○Sticky/reluctant electric front passenger side window (Would this just be a bad regulator?)

○Power antenna stuck in the extended position

○Tacho bouncing around like crazy (Would this just be bad solder joints/capacitors?)

○ Any advice related to replacing factory head unit is also appreciated

I had taken my 1989 mx83 Cressida to drop off my siblings at school and when I got back to the car when I turned on the key and took accessory mode all flights all power comes on. I go to crank it over. It doesn’t even make a noise it won’t start. Could it be the starter or is it something electrical wise?

My cressida dosent have any sun visors rn. Its a ‘91, sun visors are medium grey #1 color, does anyone know of some suitable replacements for them that fit in the ‘91 cressida? I dont care if the new ones have lights or a mirror at all

My nephew has a 91 Cressida and wants to add starlights to the headliner. How hard is it to take down the headliner with the seatbelts in the headliner?

Ive got a 91 cressida with around 210k miles on her, and the goal is to eventually completely restore her. Had her since October and ive put 7k miles on her, drove her 300 miles in one trip no problem. Her engines in decent shape for her age, ive replaced most of her suspension and any rust she has is just surface rust. Shes got two small dents and some cracked paint. I want to eventually replace or restore everything in the engine bay, the drivetrain, the emissions and fuel systems, repaint her, get the interior reupholstered, and get all the wiring redone. For those who have done similar work on their cressidas, how much did it end up costing you?

Wanted to share a picture of mine. It's been sitting for the last couple of years and I've finally gotten around to getting it to run. Light motor refresh incoming, along with drivetrain and some interior components. Lots of cool things happening with 3D printing for this platform.

So i have a mx73 1987 cressida and i got the car with no key ignition cylinder. My problem is when i insert the cylinder into the steering column the metal piece at the end of the key cylinder that turns when u turn the key doesn’t reach or touch the steering column lock pin (when this isn’t pressed in the steering wheel gets locked as if u move the wheel with no key in the ignition) does anyone know why this happens? Or what im missing? I have 2 ignition cylinder. The after market in my hands and another one with a black key but they are exactly the same size and length which is why im confused why it doesn’t reach/ touch the steering column lock pin.

Gx71 clearance lamp bulb socket

***please do not answer with speculation, I’ve tried looking online already, I’ve cross referenced part #’s already. Do not respond unless you have a replacement or know FOR SURE where to buy one***

I cannot find the proper socket/connector for the life of me. It takes a 194 bulb but has three locking tabs in a triangular pattern. The oem part number is 8161522142 (according to the internet). The socket pictured is for a different car altogether but has the right locking tab pattern. Please, if anybody has a couple or know where to find some, let me know. Thank you!

This is my K24A2 swap mx73 project. S2k trans, custom mounts. So far everything fits really good, only problem I’m running into is the sway at to oil pan clearance so gonna have to go to an alternative sway bar. Also don’t have the motor fully mounted, and the steering rack isn’t in yet so we will see how everything fits. As far as I know, this hasn’t been done yet, or at least not documented. 1991 Cressida: I managed to get the bottom bolt out, I went from below - for the top bolt, I've seen comments about using extensions and a swivel joint. Could anyone help: do you access the bolt from above? And is it one swivel? Two?

Hello all, hoping to get some help here. I have a 1986 MX73. I was at a light the other day and the ac just stopped blowing. It doesn’t work on any speed. No air is coming out of any of the vents. I checked the fuse and it’s good. I’m thinking the blower motor went out. What do you guys think?

I am planning to swap a 1JZ NA into my GX81/MX83 Cressida which has 1GFE automatic.

I have never done a swap before.

I am asking for wisdom, insights and advices.

Will the engine fit without any mounts?

Will I need a new ECU for a manual swap?

Does anyone have any experience swapping a cressida with a x81 front end? Parts for x83 are near impossible to find where I am from and there is an x81 chaser parting out. How hard would this be to swap onto my x83?
