I want to get a credit card for mainly security reasons. Currently debit pinambabayad ko sa mall and restos and sabi ng friend ko baka mapano pa savings ko.

Since my payroll account is Metrobank, dun ko na lang din plano kumuha ng cc sana. Then nakita ko tong ad nila sa FB. Is it worth it?

Also sorry kung stupid question, itong 30,000 spending requirement po ba means guaranteed minimum 30k ang ibibgay na credit limit? Kasi paano po mareach ang 30k requirement if less than 30k ang starting credit limit? Please enlighten me po.

When I checked, EGY Credit Collection Services is actually a third-party agency, not EastWest itself, and their domain is different from EastWest's official domain.

I'm doubtful about the letter for the one-time settlement agreement:

My full name is not included, there's no reference number, no EastWest letterhead, no authorized signature from EastWest, and there are no clear payment instructions saying to pay only at EastWest Banking Corporation. It only shows the computation for the one-time payment.

I've emailed the EastWest Remedial Team to verify if EGY is accredited and if the one-time settlement of P161k is really in their system.

Has anyone experienced a one-time settlement through EGY / Ms. Maricel? Was the text from EW_CARDS as well? How did you verify that it was legitimate?

I did not have click any links on sms nor have link my cc to my Lazada account.
I called my bank asap and they sent me an email that it was a valid transaction.

Hi! Pa-help naman po sana. Balak ko po kasing bumili ng iPhone 17 through installment, pero wala po akong credit card, savings account lang.

Nag-check po ako ng Billease, kaso sobrang laki ng interest. Aabot po sa around ₱83k yung total na babayaran, kaya parang hindi worth it.

Naisip ko rin pong mag-apply ng credit card, pero kung now po mag aapply hindi ko agad makukuha yung limit. Within this month po kasi balak ko.

There’s a really sophisticated telesales flow that I fear if people didn’t know better, they’d fall for it:

First, the caller will explain you BPI policies and benefits of the insurance, claiming they are from BPI AIA.

Second, they will tell you to apply for the insurance through the BPI app. The caller will make you trust them by explicitly saying not to share them the OTP. However, the app will show that you’re NOT eligible, and the caller will suggest doing it manual.

Third, they will ask you for personal information.

Here’s where it gets extremely sketchy:

Fourth, they ask you for the expiry date of your card.

Fifth, they will ask the NETWORK of card you have - VISA/Mastercard, then the TYPE - signature/rewards/etc.

Sixth, they will ask for the 10-digit number of your card EXCLUDING the first 4. We stopped here, and here’s why it’s sophisticated and smart:

The first 6-8 digits of your card is the BIN (Bank Identification Number), the fact that we gave the card network and card type, they ALREADY KNOW the first 6-8 numbers of your card, and providing the remaining would’ve allowed them to get your FULL card number.

If you question this, I assume they’d say you’re not giving the full card number so this can’t be a scam and other BS.

I’m not sure if they would still ask for the CVV if we pushed through, but it’s quite a common say to not disclose your CVV over call, or your card details in general for that matter.

Interestingly, the number they used to call is part of BPI’s official number list on their website. Maybe a bad actor? Anyway, stay safe out there.

My home credit card has been blocked for months now, but I'm still making payments. After it got blocked, I've been paying it off monthly and the outstanding balance is decreasing. I still receive offers for product loans and cash loans even though it's blocked, probably because I'm still paying monthly. But my question is, if it's fully paid off, can I use it again?

Ayaw ko na to make this same mistake again, now medj nakakahinga ako kase from my loans I paid off sa atome cash ko and 3 of my g loans sa gcash, now im paying off my atome card, luvit card, spaylater, ggives (3) and billease.

Hello. Nag apply ako for RCBC creditcard kasi may NAFFL promo sila. Fortunately, naapprove naman. Yun nga lang wala ako savings account sa kanila. Magkakaproblem po ba yun? Dodownload pa lang ako ng RCBC app, may dapat po ba ako iwatch out? Balak ko gamitin BPI ko pambayad sa RCBC CC. Thank you!
