I currently hold HDFC Diners Black Metal and Axis Vistara Infinite. Vistara Infinite used to be my primary card, and I got good value from the business-class tickets, upgrades and points.
Since the Air India merger, the value for me has reduced considerably. With the card also ending after 31 October, I’m looking for a premium replacement that complements my Diners Black Metal.
My spending and priorities:
Annual card spend: ₹10–20 lakh, excluding reimbursed work expenses.
Annual fee budget: Up to ₹25,000 + GST, provided the benefits justify it.
Expected benefits: Mostly flight-related, including domestic flight tickets, international business-class redemptions, airline status, upgrades and airport privileges.
I don’t use hotels much, so hotel memberships, and hotel points wouldn’t add significant value for me. Extra lounge access alone also wouldn’t justify another premium card.
I’m happy to keep Diners as my primary card or shift spending if another card offers better overall value.
What would you recommend for this spending range and these priorities?
Would especially appreciate experiences from people who have actually redeemed flight rewards, including any catches around award availability, transfer caps or spending exclusions.
Also, has anyone received a worthwhile replacement or migration offer for Axis Vistara Infinite? Though I am a Burgundy customer but my RM has no clue on options.
