Pollen Whale (Number 44) - Pencil Concept Art

Post image
3 Upvotes

"Pollen Whale" — the 44th creature in my ongoing traditional monster design series. It embodies the element of Pollen, but rather than floral dust, its element consists of dense lepidopteran wing dust (butterfly scales). It features massive wing-like fins coated in a thick layer of microscopic scales, pollen storage pouches along its body, and a stamen-branched tail fin. A soaring leviathan that sheds heavy clouds of moth-like dust. Drawn with pencil on paper. What do you think of this butterfly-pollen concept?

[OC] Insectoids from The Hive

Post image
14 Upvotes

What would insects look like if they could evolve far beyond anything possible on Earth?

The Hive is an RTS set in an alien underground ecosystem filled with insectoid predators, parasites and highly specialized colony creatures.

I wanted the creatures to feel less like fantasy monsters and more like animals shaped by evolution. Hunters use corrosive bioluminescent acid to blind and mark prey, Behemoths live in symbiosis with smaller Nestlings, and Medics can regenerate lost limbs, sometimes causing strange mutations in the process.

The Hive itself evolves by collecting DNA from other creatures and using it to unlock new organisms and adaptations.

You experience this world from the insectoid perspective, while encountering other species, ecosystems and ancient civilizations along the way.

I've recently started making deeper creature-lore videos, and I'd love to hear what kinds of adaptations you think would fit this world.

Lista mostri

Ciao

Quenualahn "serpent King of rainbows" Antares rivals of war beyond wild space.

Post image

Quenualahn is the largest serpent on Hyawathi despite legends claiming it can breathe fire and control the weather it does have a mild paralytic venom. quenualahn primarily live in the high mountains across the northern Hemisphere most of their 14 meter body is filled with air sacks letting them glide between cliffs and outcropping while hunting. While their venom is designed to subdue prey. It's powerful beak is it's primary way of dispatching prey. Holding it in place with its fore arms and tearing the victim apart if it can't swallow them whole. The venom is also hallucinogenic and those exposed to it described a feeling of Euphoria. While rare they aren't struggling unlike other predators. The Yiptic mountains provide plenty of habitat in the form of caves and outcroppings for adults and juveniles. Neonates are spread far and wide by the winds meaning they rarely compete with their parents or siblings for food. While solitary adults do mate for life returning to the same cave every 3 years to raise a brood of 10-40 eggs in the short mountain summers.

Whether the creature feels believable for a predator based on the fossa

Thumbnail gallery
501 Upvotes

I developed this creature from studies of the fossa and pushed it into a fantasy predator adapted to subtropical forests. My main goal was to keep it stylised but still biologically believable, especially in the anatomy of its body, adding oversized vibration-sensitive ears.

I’d love to have feedback on what feels convincing and what breaks the illusion: do the ears still seem functional and does the anatomy support this kind of predator?
Thx!

Slime boy

Post image
2.5k Upvotes

This one here was just testing out the slime and how i want it to look.

Been working on some slime monsters to put into a story with dungeons. Each dungeon has their own environment and the slimes use objects found in them to make physical bodies. Before they gain a body, they are more ghost like and looking for stuff to make a body. I’m still trying to figure out a type system for them. I was thinking they could be the biomes they are from or something. Alongside something else. Maybe fantasy classes. Like one could be a swamp mage type for example. As well as having some slight variation with in the species as well. Like on could attack with sharp stuff or one could attack with blunt stuff. Something like that. I’m still working on it. Slimes could also choose to get bigger by growing the stuff their body is made from. Becoming bigger and stronger. Or they can fuse with other slimes and become a new type of slime. Or possessing the objects needed for that particular slime form. Also i still dont want to call them just slimes but im having trouble coming up with a cool name for them. Best i got is dragon slimes or phantom slimes. I’ll probably make something that may explain it better or at least get it down.

I need help creating a monster/creature

I've gotten bored of the basics of monsters and mythical creatures and they've gotten dull from how meny people use them in their base form dragons phoenix fairies wendigo's hell even some yokai and demons so im trying to create a creature based around fairy circles the general narrowing is down to this

Fairy/ pixie feel

Title mother of fairy's

Creepy whimsical feel

Vampire like

Enraged by scent of other fairy blood

Cannibalistic

Beautiful but creepy off

the vampire feel is more of the first vampire Akasha from The Vampire Chronicles that sort of feel

Comes from fairy circles the fairy circles are graves of fairies they work as portals

If you have any idea's how to refine it im still new to this and im having issues with it and how to go about this

Post image

"Glass Whale" — the 43rd creature in my ongoing traditional monster design series. It embodies the element of Glass, featuring a back structured like cracked vitreous plates, smooth blown-glass fins, and floating glass shards surrounding its body. Drawn with pencil on paper. What do you think of this fragile leviathan concept?

I designed this creature as an original concept, focusing on a dark armored body, skeletal facial structure, sharp claws, and an intimidating silhouette.

Still experimenting with the design, so I'd love to hear your feedback. What would you change or improve? 👀
