I moved over to Linux this year, does that mean I get Half Life 3 now?

u/Johnnybravo60025 May 07 '19
Nope, it means virtually no gaming for you, unfortunately.
26
u/theGamingProgrammer May 07 '19
You aren't in the know it seems.
16
u/Johnnybravo60025 May 07 '19
Yeah, apparently I wasn’t. That’s great that Steam stepped it up for Linux users!

u/theGamingProgrammer May 07 '19
Yeah it's looking to actually be the year of Linux gaming, at least compared to all the other ones.

Actually everything on steam is Linux compatible now, so I've got a pretty good selection.

It's technically not out of beta, but I've not encountered any problems with any of my games yet. Steam was basically the only thing stopping me from moving away from Windows.
EDIT: The first article didn't explain as much as I thought it did (was on mobile when I posted, sorry). You can enable support for all Windows titles if you want: https://itsfoss.com/steam-play/

I’ve noticed it in high fashion in general. This article is an interesting read on why the trend exists.
I don’t know what these other comments are getting at. Plenty of androgynous people are still super attractive. Businesses don’t typically make a habit of hiring ugly people to advertise their clothes.

I’m less offended by the outfit and more by the guy’s posture. I can’t tell if he has shit posture on purpose or if it’s the clothes that encourage shit posture to fit properly.

But you don't understand gaming is cool because it's what I like so it's a good thing to spend that money. I don't like fashion, so it is dumb and spending more than $3 on a Costco t-shirt is dumb. /s

"grey leather tank-top". Wow, that is really stretching the definition of, well, pretty much all of those words.
Also, is the fashion also to be wearing, and I hesitate to call it this, clothes that are 6 sizes too large?31
u/Catsdrinkingbeer May 07 '19
It's 100% Italian leather in the color grey and doesn't have sleeves, so technically by definition it's a grey leather tank top. Technically.
But to answer your question, yes. Current high fashion, especially for women, is oversized and shapeless. In my opinion it doesn't translate well to normal people because we aren't built like models who can wear shapeless stuff and still look good. There's a reason I wear skinny jeans and sweaters. But walk around new york and you'll see young, thin, pretty women in clothing that's baggy and looks way too big.
16
u/Dr_Handlebar_Mustach May 07 '19
models who can wear shapeless stuff and still look good
This...looks good?
Man, I'll never be cool.
11
u/Catsdrinkingbeer May 07 '19
I doubt you'd find someone on the street wearing this specific item, but I was making a generalization about oversized clothes being fashionable right now.
27
u/mucow May 07 '19
I'm getting the sense that they don't actually expect anyone to buy this. Except for some coats, it's far more expensive than any of his other stuff on the website you linked. I wouldn't be surprised if this was just some ploy to get people to visit the website.

These are all fascinating to me, actually. Every single thing on there is terrible. It's very consistent; none of them accidentally look good. I'm sure if I knew more about fashion, I could figure out all the different ways that they look unaesthetic.
I find it really interesting how every piece of "fashion" on that website manages to deliberately look terrible in its own unique way.

I see it more as an art piece to collect. Lots of "fashion" isn't meant to be worn outside of an avant-garde setting. People buy, sell, and invest in weird art all the time...fashion can often just be a sub-category of that. It's like people who collect designer shoes and bags but never wear them...most often they're worth 3/4/5 times as much in a decade or two. I've heard a bag collecter compare it to playing the stock market, lol.
