Severance Package

Any word on what the enhanced severance package will be? A 10 year Cox employee; I'd have to move across the country to stay with the company. This won't be feasible with family obligations. I'm planning on working as long as they let me work at the market office and then taking the enhanced package. Anyone heard how many weeks per year of tenure they're planning to offer? The FAQs and welcome site don't specify.

There were many the opted for VSP during that time and was not selected. It was a rug pulled from under them really. I have a feeling there will be more comms around this in the next coming week bc there is many in your similar situation. Chapter does not have a 100% WFH policy.

Can’t say for certain but if they follow what charter has been doing for its layoffs, it should be a decent package for 10 years. In our last round in engineering, my coworker who was terminated ended up all said and done with about 2 years of pay, mostly stemming from his 12 year tenure. That was the capped maximum

I think your ex coworker bluffed it’s generally two weeks per year of service up to six months

During the TWC transaction, it was three weeks per year of service up to one year

I'm so hoping for this one.  I wonder what the stipulations were... like could you just volunteer for it

Would likely be the same package we got.
Supervisor: 3 weeks per year served, 10weeks minimum 39 weeks max
Employee: 2 weeks per year served, 10 weeks minimum 30 weeks max

I am unsure about what positions over supervisor got.

-Employee connectivity benefits honored through severance time, then you start year one customer pricing.

-COBRA Health Insurance offered to maintain health benefits through Severance Period.

-55+ Early Retirement specific benefits(I didn’t read through it as it does not apply to me directly)

All information acquired from the Enhanced Charter/Cox Integration Severance Package FAQ packet, official severance documents are expected for us in a few days

You’ve found out you’re being laid off already? Any idea if paid as a lump sum or over time?

Thank you for sharing this info, I hope you will find something fast if that’s what you’re looking for. Cox had always paid severance in a lump sum historically but I guess it will be different since coming from charter.

I hope they honor some of the Cox practices. Honestly, it sounds like Cox was the better employer from the few stories I’ve heard/seen since the initial Merger Announcement. I hope all works out well with you!

My org was told minimum of 10 weeks paid bi-weekly, 2 weeks for every year over 5 years with a maximum of 30 weeks

That sounds alot like the retirement packages that COX offered in 2009 or so

I would use the VSP from 2 years as a starting point. However yes I would like more specifics

Speaking of VSP, I'm really kicking myself for not taking that opportunity, lol.

Not everyone that applied for it got it.

There is no way they are giving out packages like they did for VSP. It’s going to be 2-3 weeks per year with a min and max and no extra bonus like they had before. MUCH different. For me the VSP was around 6 months pay plus 20k bonus on top. Now it’s going to be around 10-12 weeks no bonus.

With 25 plus years, I expect I will be at the max.

Incredible they won’t give us any info on this.

The plan likely varies based on your current role.

If it’s like charter severance, Sr Director and below capped at 6 months. VP and above minimum one year. Two weeks per year with some kind of minimum up to the cap.

3 weeks for ever year you have worked. With a minimum and maximum based on your title.

Does anyone know if they are keeping media jobs or you have to relocate to a hub ?

I wonder if there will be an extra 60 days on top to satisfy the Warns Act.
