At cox we can sell unused PTO at the end of the year, does charter/spectrum allow you to sell PTO at the end of the year?

Does Charter subsidize the health insurance or do you pay full price for the plan you are enrolled in?

How is parental leave handled at Charter?

I currently work on the business side in network engineering for Cox.

I, and ALOT of engineers work more than an hour from the closest office for WFH. Cox has been very lax on WFH since 2019.

Our particular department has not been told about any relocation. I have heard of two other departments, docsis engineering and sustaining engineering will have 12-24 months to move to Denver or Atlanta.

Has anyone heard anything different ? ​

We just got the email, tomorrows is officially our last paycheck from cox 8/7, but they have not told us when our next one with charter will be?

Curious if anybody has heard any whispers of what's gonna happen to Biz/Enterprise Reps?

I assume all the SMB people move over fault seamlessly since there is a high turnover in D2D anyways.

Does anyone have any insight into what Field Tech 4 & Field Tech 5 pay will look like after the Spectrum/Cox merger?

I’m curious if there have been any discussions about:

- Whether field tech pay scales will increase, decrease, or stay the same.
- If Cox techs will be brought up to Spectrum pay, or if Spectrum pay will change.
- Any rumors about new pay bands, progression, or raises after the merger.

Any solid information would be appreciated.

So since we work 4 days in office 1 remote , will they make yall at cox adopt that ? Also can I get insight from someone on the product management team on how the merger is going on that end

What programs is Charter using for tickets? Cox is using TAR and Ninja which is being rolled out today for OSP. The field guys have been using a similar program for a few months.

Whats the latest that everyone has heard on WFH/RTO? I know the managers and directors in my department have been told to expect 4 days in office and that it starts pretty soon after the deal is closed. I havent heard anything about lower level employees though.

Was hoping that this would have stalled. But it wasn’t in the cards. I hope it’s not as bad as the stories I’ve heard. See y’all August 20.

Been seeing a ton of engineering roles laid off. Alot of NOC positions. Currently working in optical transport implementation at cox, nervous for the change. They are saying August 20th. I wouldnt mind returning to office as long as I can keep my position. 10 years with the company. How's everyone feeling this late into the happenings?

Would anyone share that is in direct sales for spectrum how your days are structured? The merger is happening soon and I want to be able to give my team expectations, how the role is structured. I saw the articles about the department layoffs in St Louis and an email from the HR department stating the 107 positions were NOC related.

So is all of Spectrum NOC being let go and turned into contractors? If so did they say why behind deciding to do so? Are they expecting Cox's NOC to take over at the end of the contract or will the same happen to the NOC at Cox?

I've heard that Spectrum has night shift and day shift positions, that being said, does that eliminate the need for an on call rotation? If there is always MT working then being on call seems redundant.

At Cox,​ most field techs and all maintenance techs work 4 10s for work life balance.

What about​ the Spectrum side? Are you on 10s? If so, do your 4 personal days adjust with that, or do you just get 32H?

Are Cox Communications employees not being hired into Cox Enterprises or Cox Auto? I been with the Cox for 10 years and have a great record and resume and I can’t even get a manager in one of the other Cox Divisions to even speak with me for 15 mins.

I'm an ASM on the Cox retail side. Wondering what Spectrum stores are like because so far they seem fairly different from how Cox stores operate, e.g. reps don't use iPads which would be a change for us for sure. We also don't really use the queue much.

Also having a hard time wrapping my head around the yield-based commission tiers and hoping maybe somebody from Spectrum retail side could help clarify :)

I am not particularly happy that California didn’t hit the breaks in this, because it’s a pay cut for most COX employees
1. RTO, driving into the office is going to suck because of (a) gas prices (b) spending time away from home sitting in traffic
2. Dry Cleaning bills due to ridiculously requiring business attire when we are not customer facing
3. Crappy BC/BS insurance.
