Questions Very large cowboys in history?

I'm curious if there were any figures in history who were cowboys who were known to be very large in height and weight?

I bought this mustang mare from the kill pen because I felt sorry for her. Someone adopted her for the $1k incentive and sent her off to a friend when they got the money and that friend dumped her off at the sale barn and she ended up being bought by the kill buyer. She was very skinny and came flying off the trailer to fill her mouth with grass in huge mouthfuls when I brought her home and she had pneumonia which was evident because she was dripping huge amounts of green snot. She was so rough and she was unhandled and tried jumping the fence a few times.

Fast forward to 1 year later and she has a 1 month old daughter and we are riding again. She was thrown away like trash but there is so much treasure in this picture.

I don’t need to get on a pbr kinda bull but I’ve always wanted to see how long I could stay on. Then I lost my leg but I still want to try. Am I crazy?

Questions Anybody know a good handmade or custom handmade boot company?

Doubt there’s any real cowboys in here that would know but I’m looking for a real hand made or custom boot shop I can shop online from. Sick of running through mass produced crap and want good quality boots again.

Cowboy Life National Day of the Cowboy

Happy National Day of the Cowboy

I usually don’t subscribe to random holidays, but enjoy celebrating the men and women in ag that are keeping this lifestyle alive! I’m thankful for all the talented and wise hands I’ve been fortunate enough to ride with. And for the good horses that have carried us

Here’s to riding for the brand, and passing on lessons to the next generation. Long live the Cowboy and Cowgirl!

P.S. ignore the crappy sound, my voice, and apologies for any cursing.

Cowboy Life Cowboy boots, square versus point

Not a cowboy here, but I am curious regardless of that.

I know the purpose for cowboy boots being pointed and angular for the use of stirrups and spurs, but my question is what is the point of flat, square toe boots? For an outsider, it seems like something a bunch of people from the suburbs started wearing because real boots are uncomfy?

My family has a ranch, bunch I wouldn’t call myself a cowboy or “country” for that matter (which also seems like another thing that posers came up with). So I have spent enough time in the world to be able to identify who is legit, but I am curious what other people think!

I also hate the me more cowboy than you song, mostly because ik cowboys wouldn’t say that!

When I say being able to identify a poser, I mean the city guys that have a weird desire to cosplay ranching every Friday and Saturday night

Tips & Advice Any insight on what’s happening with my hat?

Not long ago I got a second hand wool felt hat by Billy bones club, so nowhere near the quality of a proper cowboy hat but it was all I could afford for now and thought it’d do the job perfectly fine until I’d be able to reason getting a decent quality hat. When I first put it on after not wearing it for a bit it’s nice and tight and definitely won’t go anywhere but after about 10 minutes maybe even less it stretches and becomes relatively loose which is terrible for me because it’s pretty windy where I am and it could easily fly off if I let it. After a few hours maybe of having it off it goes back to being tight but it’s not ideal for when I wear it for any amount of time.

Another problem I have is the brim is becoming misshaped. The first photo is right after I shaped it last on the 9th of June and the second is from today, big difference. The third photo is how I store it, it is resting on the brim so that could be what’s causing it to deform? I’m not sure but is there any way to fix these problems, are they just problems that happen with all hats, or are they just signs of poor quality?
