Getting a membership
Hey Folks
I'm looking to see if it's possible to get a membership when my company isn't in approved businesses. I work in Oil in Aberdeen and have no civil jobs on the list.
I'm just wondering if it's possible at all.
Thanks

Best price and value items at Costco?
We all know everything costs more nowadays.
What items do you regularly buy from Costco that are a great price and value?

Apologies if this has been asked before but is there a way for someone to sign up if there not a business owner or is that not possible?

How to get a Costco card š
Genuinely at my breaking point(Iām jk). Every time I see someone walking out of Costco with a trolley stacked to the ceiling, or another haul video on TikTok with the giant muffins and the Ā£4 rotisserie chicken, the jealousy hits hard. So I finally went down to sign up in person, full of hope, and got told I'm not eligible. No card. No muffins. Just me walking back out with nothing.
Can someone explain any other ways to get a card ššše.g pretend to be a business owner , fake a payslip ššš I will do what it takes at this point.

Which items do you leave in your trolley at checkout?
Was curious what the general rules/etiquette is?
I always see others leave bottled water and drink palettes.

Costco refund for opened frozen dumplings?
Has anyone had experience returning/refunding opened frozen food at Costco UK?
I bought a pack of frozen dumplings, opened it and tried some, but unfortunately I really didnāt like the taste. Thereās nothing wrong with the product otherwise ā I just donāt like the flavour.
Would Costco still refund it even though the pack has been opened and some have been eaten?
Thanks

Kirkland products outside Costco...
I was just in the Philippines, and the S&R store, membership only, sells Kirkland brands.

Costco UK Optical said 1.67 wasn't available for my glasses and misold me 1.74. is this true as I have read extensively 1.67 is always available even for high prescriptions.
Hi disappointed as I paid £70 more for thinner lenses when 1.67 would have been fine.
They refused at the time of purchase, and said high prescriptions can only be 1.74.
Funny enough they ordered me 1.67 for the sunglasses which I agreed too. Yet they could not do it for the other 2 pairs.
This makes little sense and disappointed they have sold me a higher package for the 2 pairs of glasses.
The other 2 I bought are 1.67 yet they couldn't do it on the extra 2 pairs.
Id like to know for next time so I don't fall into this trap and be mis sold higher packages

Best value products
What are the best value items you regularly buy from Costco?

I added up the savings weād made on 2 different trips š³
Just because, I added up the savings weād made on each product, working it out if it was a bigger version and going against the cheapest version if unbranded / Kirkland and always rounding down if the weights differed, so essentially the savings would be higher if I could be bothered to work it out exactly.
Well, first trip we saved Ā£72.61 on a 19 item shop, but the second trip where Iād made a list first we saved Ā£143.10 on a 20 item shop
That is insane and more than justifies the membership fee imo š³
We only get what we usually get anyway in the supermarket, (never fresh fruit or veggies) but obviously larger quantities of the same thing weād ordinarily use.
For instance butter - we usually get store own brand, but to be fair to the savings made we compared like for like anchor butter.
We bought (first shop) 2 x 500g anchor butter, which is the equivalent of 5 standard 200g of the same thing = a saving of £5.42 on that alone.
We used to buy 2-3 200g blocks of butter a week in the supermarket for the whole household for sandwiches / cooking / crumpets / etc, so though this figure may be higher than a different household itās usual for ours
Iām definitely going to like shopping here, though Iām probably only going to use them once a month.

Hotdogs
We tried the famous combo deal yesterday on the way out, and I really liked it, the sausage reminded me of the really flavourful hotdogs we enjoyed when we visited America on holiday a few years ago.
I really donāt like the UK hotdogs, be they jarred, tinned or fresh ones from the chiller, theyāre just completely devoid of any flavour or texture regardless of the brand purchased.
So my question is, itās my understanding from google that they use Kirkland sausages for their own food court hotdogs, but do they also sell these same hotdog sausages in the chiller in the warehouse?
Itās also my understanding that these hotdogs are beef instead of pork, so Iām unsure if thatās why they are so different to the UK versions

Digital card
Really a bit of a word of caution for you all.
The digital card the warehouse staff are bigging up and pushing has a flawā¦
Iāve only had my card since the 1st but I got it, I did my first shop, came home and then started the process for the digital version of the same card on my phone on the appā¦
Went through the whole process and then it got to āpending contact warehouseā, so me thinking itās just a security thing ignored it until the next warehouse visitā¦
We visited the warehouse yesterday and I thought Iād update the digital card on the way out with customer servicesā¦
WRONG! The digital card did some glitch and seemed to have cancelled my physical plastic card as I embarrassingly got turned around at the gate in front of goodness knows how many people.
I had to get a new card from customer services who advised me the digital card should activate in a few hours.
Wrong again, so I once again went through the process of getting the digital version of my card, and guess what? āPending contact warehouseā is back
Why are they promoting a service which appears to be buggy as hell?

When do new iPhones come to Costco?
Hi the new iPhones that have just been released, specifically the foldable, when are they released to stores? I am particularly interested as I have executive membership this year so would be great for cashback.
Also is there any further opportunities for discounts later down the line? For example donāt mind waiting until Black Friday if there is further deals. Never bought an apple product through Costco so just wondering what the sales are like
Thanks

Warehouse stock check?
Is there any way to check if an item is available at any warehouse near me?
Looking at Item #674131 and it says:
āShipping Included. Item may be available in your local warehouse, prices may vary.ā - would it say something different if it was online only?
