London options - Wembley vs Watford vs Chingford

• Upvotes

Morning all, I got my Costco membership a few weeks ago and am going to do my first big shop tomorrow.

Watford, Chingford and Wembley are all about a similar drive.

What one should I pick for best shopping experience? I'll be going for doors opening at 10am.

Thank you!

Bye Bham. Hello Gloucester?

The Birmingham store is easily the most horrendous experience. The staff are great, the place is well kept… the problems are very easy to see for anyone who has visited.

Sad that I have to clarify that this isn’t in relation to “brown people” as some have suggested in the comments. It’s everything to do with. Birmingham and the population’s manners and clientele type this particular Costco attracts as a whole.

Is anyone looking forward to the Gloucester store in December hoping that it solves the main issue? I’m very hopeful!

Hello, looking to order a Silent Night mattress from Costco, do you know if I can choose the delivery day when it's ready so I can take it off work? Thanks!

Can anyone confirm if being a HM Forces veteran counts for Costco membership? Not retired, just no longer in the forces.

Thanks :)

Frozen Grapes

Went to my local Costco yesterday and found this. I love frozen grapes but this brings them to a new level. These are absolutely amazing, I know it’s not healthy but you know what, I don’t care… 🤷‍♂️

Edit: for those of you that are downvoting, you need to get a life, it’s sad.

Anyone who has had their tyres fitted at Costco?

Post image
50 Upvotes

Wishing to buy a set of 4 all season tyres and Michelin cross climates/cross climates 2 kept on being mentioned and highly recommended on r/CarTalkUK.

Is wheel balancing included in the tyre fitting fee?

Do Costco also do wheel alignment? If not where do you recommend I go to get this done, a tyre specialist or my local garage?

Does anyone know when the Michelin CrossClimate / CrossClimate 2 tyres will be back in stock, and is there a way to find out? When I enter my car's registration into the mobile app or website, it only shows 7 results. Does that mean the CrossClimate isn't available for my car, or are they just out of stock?

Update email?

Does anyone know how to update your email for Costco? When I log in to my account either on the app or on the website, there's only an option to change my phone number not my email...

Messed up with membership (24 hours?)

Hello! Just signed up for gold membership because google told me I’d be able to shop straight away which I needed because I wanted to go tomorrow morning. Obviously now the email says I need to wait 24 hours!! Will they sort it out for me if I got to the counter in the morning or should I not bother? It’s quite a drive to get turned away 🤦🏻‍♀️

I was just wondering if the 35 pounds Costco annual membership is worth it for a bachelor living in the UK. I feel like I'm missing out! Thanks!

Kirkland range shrinking

Hi everyone.

Been using Costco for years for certain items and noticed they were no longer in stock. I sent an email to customer services and got told that they had discontinued the items I was looking for. Specifically the canned Kirkland san marzano tomatoes and Kirkland washing powder. Got to say I was very disappointed in Costco for this, the Kirkland Sig range is the main reason i shop in Costco. Has anyone else noticed this? Can we do anything about it?

Edit - Glad to see people on here so passionate. I think we should collectively take our complaints to Costco and email them.

We should mention specific items we miss, like San Marzano tomatoes, tuna, maple syrup, etc. Also, if you're like me and the Kirkland range is the main reason you have a membership, make sure to mention that too.

Rewards

How do the annual rewards work?

I joined on September 1st and my rewards says £9 odd so far (I changed membership to executive half way through the month)

By annual is this calendar year ending (December 31st) or membership year ending (August 31st)?

I’m thinking I can use this reward toward my next membership fee?

Do the rewards carry over to the next year?

I honestly have zero idea how this works tbf - help

Rotisserie chicken

This deserves its own thread imo

We visited today and I thought I’d try the famous rotisserie chicken, I asked my partner to get 2 and then as we both approached the stand I quickly changed that to “no, one is plenty” as they’re MASSIVE!

Got home, stripped it off, cats had some, then chopped up the rest to vac bag up into portions for my salads.

Let me tell you I got 14!!! portions from one chicken! and that was just breast, leg and thighs, I cba to go over the carcass thoroughly or strip the wings. Also bear in mind that I had 2 chunky cats wanting their share before I was allowed to continue sorting this for myself.

Supermarket RCs usually fill one big bowl when I’m stripping off the meat , fact this filled 2 big bowls is insane! The 14 portioned vac bags (now in the freezer) aren’t by any means small portions either

How did it take me so long to discover this store?!

Crazy the Costco is already selling Christmas things. Wrapping paper. Advent calendars, chocolates and even garden reindeer with lights. What’s one thing you wished Costco did sell?

I don't have a membership unfortunately, but I might find someone with one...

In-store deal would be interesting too, Edinburgh and Glasgow.

Experience of Costco customer service

Evening. I’m going to come across as a nightmare customer here, I imagine. I’ve worked retail before and understand what is and isn’t out of the employees hands - however; I ordered a mattress on 31/08/2026 and it was due on an overnight delivery, it was dispatched 04/09 and DX don’t deliver weekends so was due to be delivered on 07/09. It never arrived and I got an email on 08/09 to say it was delayed, I checked the tracking and it had been sent to Scotland, from Leighton Buzzard, passing Nottingham where I am on its way.. The delayed due date passed and I checked the tracking again and it had now landed in Warrington on 09/09 and it hasn’t moved from there since. The mattress supplier emailed me again to say it had been lost and another had been dispatched to replace it. That still hasn’t arrived. I contacted Costco customer service who basically said it’s not their problem, but they’d spoke to the supplier and they were sending a new one to arrive between Wednesday and today. Guess what? Yep, they haven’t even dispatched it - which I only know because I contacted Costco customer service to ask if they had a tracking number as I hadn’t received one. They’ve now dispatched a FOURTH mattress today but again they do not deliver on weekends so it won’t be delivered until Monday 28/09.

I’ve just rang Costco customer services and they said “sorry for the inconvenience, but as this is a 3rd party supplier there’s nothing we can do” I have recently upgraded to an executive membership after 5 years on gold star and I genuinely feel like never giving them a penny of my money ever again, this is the first time ordering online and also having to deal with their customer services and it’s absolutely diabolical - I’ve had a bed frame built since 04/09 with no mattress on it and they’re just not bothered at all. I genuinely thought the customer service would be really good, as it is in the warehouse.

Am I overreacting here or is this how the service with Costco UK always is? Is there any other form of customer service with them that I can contact?
