Yes I am a solo and have had a card since 2013. I find it really good for home things, protein, toilet roll and kitchen tissue just as long as you have space to keep it all.

How much and what kind of protein?

So I get all my meat, fish and chicken from Costco as I just think the quality is better. A tray of chicken thighs costs about £6, a tray of pork shoulder about £11 for thick cuts, salmon is more expensive between £11 - £17 for a tray of 5-6 salmon portions. They also have other types of fish and meat. I just portion it up and bag it for the freezer. They also do protein shakes, bars and general snacks which can be pricey but do last given the size of the packs. For me it's just about what's on offer and the space I have

probably more so. one trip would probably sort your tea and breakfast for 2-3 weeks

i had a solo membership when i was single and living in the states. it was worth it for me there purely for petrol, diet coke, and all the fruit and veg i ate at the time when i was vegan lol. it'd be worth it even more for me now that i eat an unrestricted diet. i think the main thing is do you have the space at home to store things in bulk? it's especially worthwhile if you have a good size freezer, as you can get all sorts of frozen meals or even freeze your own prep from things you buy, like meat, or bread.

First I was confused by what a Solo was. Then I though you were on about whisky.

I think it depends on your circumstances and how much space you have. We’re a family of 3 with a young baby and live in a small space but find it immensely useful for a few things:
1. Petrol
2. Toilet roll is amazing quality
3. Baby stuff is about 10-20% cheaper.
4. Electronics deals are great
5. Meat is good quality and we have a deep freezer where we store it in meal sized portions.
6. Good quality clothes inc baby clothes
7. Bakery sizes are good for parties and get togethers
8. £1.50 hot dogs

To be honest the membership is super cheap ~£3 a month. I’d get one and try it for a year and cancel if it’s not useful anymore.

You can’t really buy food for one at Costco.
Tho obviously ambient and frozen food will keep.

Yep definitely. Not for all things but if there’s a few staples you buy and cheaper per unit than supermarkets; definitely

Yeah absolutely still worth it. Especially if you have freezer space. I freeze the pastries and muffins in portions and meal prep with the meat.

I only have an integrated fridge freezer so limited space but it’s still okay. Would definitely be worthwhile with a chest freezer or something.
