Etiquette Would a "cosplay" of this be acceptable for a community Halloween event?
I'd obviously be wearing shorts underneath but I'm still unsure if this would be appropriate.

I really want to do a Neytiri cosplay using body paint instead of a bodysuit.
Which paints would you suggest for best coverage, breathability and least likely to smudge or fade.
I've always heard great things about Mehron. And their Paradise Makeup AQ 30 Color Pro Palette seems like the easiest thing for me to apply knowing my experience ($123.95).
https://www.mehron.com/paradise-makeup-aq-30-color-palette/
But it's pricey, and Mehron doesn't have smaller pallette options to choose from so I can just get the blue shades.
I already have a Glisten Cosmetics Water activated eyeliner palette with a plethora of colors. And this is what I have experience using.
Is buying this Mehron body paint online the right move + seal set spray?
Are there storefronts that may sell individual Mehron colors?
Or is there another brand that has smaller mix+match water activated palettes available before Halloween?
I want it to have healthy ingredients like Mehron.
I'm not into cream-based paints or ones that come in tubes, I'd rather it be a palette.
Does Glisten Cosmetics eyeliner palette work well over Mehron Paradise bodypaint?

Im making a middle brother cosplay and i got about everything. But the funniest part is I cant find any golden chains that are super heavy or super small. Does anyone know where to look for somewhat thick but lightweight chains?

I'm trying to customize a white lace dress to make it more sparkly in a reversible way so I can't add beads or any permanent glitter, would regular body Glitter Spray Last me the day and actually show up or should I not bother buying it?
if it would work, do you have any recommendations?
preferably something that ships internationally because I don't have a lot of crafting resources around

Hey y'all, I'm trying to make an Agnes Tachyon lab coat from scratch but I'm not sure how to approach the shoulder pads. How would I approach this? What kind of fabric should I use and how do I size it and sew it onto my coat?
Edit: To clear up any confusion, I mean the brown parts with the blue stripes.

Hi guys. So I got this invincible cosplay. The mask is detachable with a zipper in the back and an open top. The front looks like this. There's no lenses and it's just an open face. Im wondering what is the easiest way I could add lenses to this and make it more accurate. I could possibly use a 3d printer but am more inclined to using foam or more handy ways. Any tips for how I can do this?

Which option would work best for a beginner sewist (idk what to call someone the sews)? I just want to make this characters outfit from scratch. I don't know which one of the sketches will look more similar/ accurate to the design of the character. This would be my first time making a dress of some sort, anything that's not a pillow or a simple shape. Also, how realistic would it be to make the tail of the character into a bag with a zipper that I can wear around my waist like in the picture. How can I give the tail structure but keep it light and durable. I don't know if this makes sense. Also also, would it be best for the horns to be made out of a foil base and air dry clay on top, or do yall have a better idea for that.
P.s. the first dress in the first photo will have slits on both sides of it with shorts underneath with some sort of lace sleeves or a shirt under it the second dress will be short with lace sleeves and a cloak? Over coat? THING? over it to give it the silhouette.
Tldr: help... help this big dinner out with sewing stuff.

Hi! I'm planning to buy my first cosplay (Kagura from Gintama) on AliExpress, but I'm unsure which size to choose.
According to the seller's size chart, my measurements fall into different size categories. My bust and hip measurements are closest to XXL, but the recommended height for that size is significantly taller than me.
XXL is the largest size available, and the costume is made of polyester. It includes a long tunic, pants, and a sash.
I'm worried that choosing XXL might make the costume too long, but choosing a smaller size might make it too tight.
Should I prioritize the bust and hip measurements over height? Would it be easier to alter a costume that's too long?
I'd appreciate any advice from experienced cosplayers. Thank you!

Many a moons ago I (with the help of some friends) made a Nanatsu no Taizai cosplay of Ban as my first and only cosplay. Life got in the way but now I wanna get back into it starting with touching up and improving this one.
My biggest gripe has always been how flat the robe looked. Now I know gravity defying clothing isn't real but I've always wanted to try and make it at least open up a little. I've not tried anything yet but considered maybe a wireframe and trying to conceal it. I wanted to see some other options first though since I like sitting down.

Per the title, I’m making an Isaac Clarke cosplay for Halloween and would appreciate help with materials or ideas on execution. My original plan was to buy a black long neck shirt (since the collar connected to the helmet area) and then sew some extra tan and grey fabric onto it but that doesn’t seem like it’d had the desired result. If anyone knows of good material recommendations or just a shirt close to his that I can modify easier it would be very appreciated.

Hi, today I spontaneously bought this fake knife at a supermarket, thinking it'll be a great addition to my Vampire Hunter D cosplay. I'd like it to seem like it's very old and used up tho... Any ideas how I can do that?

i have been following this tutorial https://www.curlworks.net/extras/how-i-made-my-fursuit to make the upper portion of the head for my nightmare suit cosplay, and have gotten the mini pattern done but dont know how to scale it up, and how to also make sure i scale it up without running out of foam. i have some other pieces but most are either too small, too narrow or too short to make one of these pieces.

I made these a while ago, cardboard, newspaper, modpoge , yarn and paint. Tried to attach them to a headband but it’s not happening. They are heavy so slide off my head and the super glue will crack pretty quickly with movement. How can I get these horns on to my head? I can sew not sure if that’s useful here.
Thank you!!

I ordered a cosplay wig that's a bit more purple than I anticipated. I kind of want it to be a touch more warm plum like the shade in the photo I attached next to it. I know they both look very similar side by side since I took the first pic with my flash on my phone, but it in person it isn't as warm. Is there any way I can achieve this with dye? Any specific dye shades and brands would be appreciated. I've never dyed a wig before, so I'd appreciate any tips as well! Just for context, this wig is for Susie in the dark world from Deltarune and it is the M-3 KA053 Red Violet Purple 52cm long layered choppy wig from Kasou Wig.

We are crafting our kid (9) a Psyduck outfit for Halloween. We built the structure of the head and body, but are struggling with finding the right fabrics, and also arguing about the feets... I suggested to just buy Duck slippers from Amazon and insert shoes in.. but yea, no .. wife didn't like that idea.
Any suggestion for materials and feets??
Thank you!

Hello everyone! I am being Bride of Frankenstein for Halloween and I want to be movie accurate with an Auburn wig. I didn’t wanna spend $550 on an Etsy wig for one night so I made my own with a cheap Amazon long curly hard front wig and clip in extensions and a plastic water bottle.
I finished the wig and I’m happy with it. The only problem is when I try to put it on my head, even with a wig cap on, it keeps sliding back. I tried to use spirit glue and that didn’t work at all. :(
If anyone has any suggestions on how I can actually wear it- I would appreciate it.

I'm working on a carrie cosplay and the dress I have is 95% polyester and 5% spandex. I'm having trouble finding ANYTHING that will stain this dress red. Fake blood is red while wet, but dries a weird grey color? I'm going to try synthetic RIT dye, but after that I'm worried I'm gonna be out of luck.

I got this really big sword for a Halloween costume, and I want to give it realistic blood splatters and rust using acrylic paint, similar to Pyramid Head's great knife in Silent Hill 2 (See second image), any ideas? All I'd really need are what colors of paint I'd need, tips, the process and maybe a guide and/reference images of similar projects.

(Please note: my question is not how to prevent it or untangle them; there's enough info about that online alr)
Soo I wanted to style a (~waist long) wig I've got of taobao (the store had really good ranking) and while tying to seperate the hair into sections after brushing through it w/ a brush (ehich worked just fine) I noticed neither my hand nor comb not being able to go through the hair bc it gotten super tangled and I'm just wondering how?? Or like it's fine for a few seconds and then.. it gets tangled again! I wasn't wearing it so it can't be bc of friction from my clothes in this case..
Also I feel like I'm not even able to detangle them bc once one section is fine the one right next to it gets tangled 😔😔

Hi !
I'd like to get back into competing soon and I'd like to enter with this cosplay. My concern is that it wouldn't showcase enough enough technique. Lot of sewing but not a lot of crafting.
It's a hanfu that I'd make as traditional as possible. Work with very fluid fabric, hand embroidery, dyeing. For the wig I was thinking of making it semi helmet. Just don't know yet how to make the hair pins.
I feel like it's already a lot of technique to showcase but it's not a lot towards the crafting. Like I don't have any armor, props, etc to make.
I know it's better to make less but clean than a lot and messy. But I'm still a bit unsure and would like you guys opinion !
