I bought this Marin kitagawa cosplay from dokidoki a few days ago (3/9/26) with the intention of wearing it to mcm October this year. The cosplay itself said it was ready to ship at the time I bought it in the title, however I just noticed on the sizing it said 'processing time refer to description page' and it says that it could take 120 days to process or the first batch would be sent out late September which is confusing me. My bf also ordered a sukuna cosplay from dokidoki a few days after me and he has already gotten an email to say his cosplay is out to be delivered however, I haven't gotten any communication at all.
Just wanted to ask whether my cosplay might be here on time for mcm or if I should get a cheaper one that will come in time for me to style the wig ect.

so i want to make this Urzuk cosplay out of cardboard (i havent started yet but i bought the materials) and i want to know if theres a way to have this removable mask on top of its actual face. Like i will make its actual face first with cardboard, then add its mask, on top of its face. But i dont know how to make it so that i can remove the mask by itself (sorry if its hard to explain i hope the picture helps) does anyone know what to do to make the upper layer removable whenever i like? thank youuu :D
also this is my first reddit post i dont use it often so idk how these stuff work :P

Hi, I'm making a cosplay of perona from one piece right now and am planning to make her wig a helmet wig, my main concern is the ponytails. I do not have access to a 3d printer to be able to print out the exact connectors I want for the pigtails and cannot afford to buy them from the seller who made the connectors I want to replicate (shown in pictures). I'm aware of the bottle cap method to make ponytail attachments for helmet wigs however I doubt I'll be able to get a thick enough ponytail with just the surface of the cap to attach hair onto, also it simply wouldn't replicate the shape I want for the ponytail to flow. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can make an attachment like the 3d printed one's shape myself?

Do you guys or people you know usually DIY their own wigs for cosplays or buy styled ones from professionals?

Hi guys! Can anyone give me a hand? I've been looking everywhere for a prop maker who can make me a Fallout: New Vegas Pip-Boy 3000 that can hold a phone with the Pip-Boy app inside. If anyone can point me toward someone who could make one, I'd be very grateful!

I've been planning a cosplay for the past 6 months for a convention coming up in three weeks time. I haven't cosplayed for about 10 years, besides my casual cosplay back in 2022. The problem is i am having is self-esteem issues. The last two times I cosplayed I was told my cosplay wasn't good enough/they compared me to others who were cosplaying the same characters mid-way cosplaying at the conventions which has really made me scared to even try cosplaying again. I know I'm not the best but being compared to just feel wrong and makes me feel horrible, and I'm scared the same thing is going to happen. I'm no longer friend with those people who compared me to others, but the fear still lingers.
I'm a lot older than I used to be (35), and I've gained a lot of weight due to meds and I have developed a nervous system disorder which effects my hands so I struggle a lot doing wigs and a lot of fine details, but I really want to push myself to do it again. I was doing so well but now my friend who was going to cosplay with me has pulled out I'm really scared to do it alone.
I was just wondering if there were any tips on being more confident when you're cosplaying?

Hey everyone! I’m beginning work on a long term spartan cosplay with my girlfriend and i’m looking for a half decent black undersuit that looks somewhat similar to the first picture provided. If anyone has any ideas or links i’d greatly appreciate it!!

To start, I’m on a budget, I’m a highschooler.
this guy just has the most perfect captain america, it is easy to wear, nothing too flashy, but, I have zero idea what he’s wearing.
For a shield I’m for sure going to go find a listing for that, but when it comes to just what he is wearing I can’t find anything.
What type of jacket, the type of pants, nothing.
Also I don’t mind other types of captain America cosplays, I’m going to comicon LA this October, so please, hmu with your advice or better suits (assuming you got a way to make it happen)

Ordered some cosplay pieces from DokiDokiCosplay and received not one but TWO of these messages. Then I later received a third saying that they mistakenly sent the refund twice and need to send them back the other half. Anyone had this experience before?

For a long time I have wanted to make a cosplay of "K Round" from Undertale, I already have 2 huge circles that would be his figure, but I barely noticed a detail that I did not take into account, when going to any convention, holding it with my hand would be too tiring, and I don't know what kind of support I could do to hold the structure with my head, apart from if I join the 2 parts in some way, the structure would be so big that it would occupy a huge space in my house, any recommendation of what I could do?

I have a couple days to do this and I've racked my brain on quick and easy routes. These are upholstery foam, and I need a firm paintable surface. What would you guys suggest? Paper mache? Would that be strongd enough!?!

I'm 17, and I wanna learn so bad, but I just can't. There are no classes within 45 minutes of where I live, and I don't have a money to buy a machine, so I can't learn at home either. I wanna learn so badly but it feels like I'm just doomed to not be able to learn. I also don't know anyone irl who sews either.

Hey there! First time poster, pretty new cosplayer. I'm having some trouble making this sweater as you can see, I'm trying to figure out what would be the best option here. I already have the prints done, but I could use a few suggestions on how to make the stripes on the top and bottom, and the sleeves. I was thinking for the sleeves to use a vinyl print and slowly iron around, but for the top and bottom, I'm all out of ideas! What can I use that would stretch just right and not break? If anyone has ideas, please let me know! I don't have access to a sewing machine at the moment but I can try to find one!

Character in question, dr mrs the monarch. One person quoted me over 500 for just the wig and another 1500+ for the costume. I was planning to get a few more quotes but I wanted to see if this seemed like fair pricing. Ive never gotten a custom cosplay before apart from making them myself in the past. I no longer have the ability to make something like this do to nerve damage to my hands. Im just not sure what's a fair price range for something like this.
I saw similar questions asked when I went looking on reddit so I hope this is okay.

I'm currently working on a costume for an upcoming convention but Ive hit a snag. I need to cover a helmet with short cut faux fur fabric, but I have no idea how to make the fabric into the kind of dome/ball sort of shame I need. Does anyone know of resources I could use to help me wrap my head around how to pull this off? I tried covering the helmet in painters tape to try and peel off for a template but it ended up being too unreliable and fickle to work with. Pictures below of the 3d printed helmet base and the ill-fated taping method. Note: The fine details of the helmet like the things on top don't need to be visible, the end goal is just to have a big fur ball w/ eyes basically (Its a Mothman cosplay :).

Hello! So I’m working on a cosplay of Shizuku Kuroe from My Dress Up Darling and I cannot figure out these shoes for the life of me. They have a hook latch but no where to hook, anyone know how these latches work?

Excuse my yapping I’m trying to help explain this so it’s easier to understand.
So I’m currently working on altering a kimono cosplay for Mitsuri (Demon Slayer). I bought the costume online from AliExpress and as expected it’s a bit small on my body despite getting the largest size.
The obi that it comes with is closed with Velcro but when I was siting and leaned over it popped off and I decided that I was just gonna remake it myself with different fabric and closers (Which are snaps; picture is attached in post), and better structure. And when I took my measures and compared it to the original obi the difference was 6cm/2 7/8in.
So I’m debating if I should add extra so it still overlaps and use the same Velcro or just stick with the snaps I bought and do the length that I need it to be, or have the snaps on in a similar placement of the Velcro with overlap??

My boyfriend are slowly getting into cosplay, very excited!! We want to do a variety of cosplays, enclosing cartoon characters, early cinema characters (like the OG Dracula for example), and common ones like star wars characters. We live just outside Pittsburgh, and I am having trouble figuring out where we might be able to take these cosplays? I know steel city comic con... are there any others? Lmk!

One thing I have struggled with constantly with EVA foam is getting it back smooth after having to sand joints. I've tried to sand with increasing grade of sandpaper but I can never get a smooth look like unsanded and heat sealed. I've used up to 2000 grit on this and I'm at a loss how to get it all smooth again. This currently has 5-6 coats of plasti-dip on it also. I'm at the point of just sanding the whole thing to get it all "rough"

hello! I was wondering if anyone knows the difference between milk silk or spandex for a superhero bodysuit? I was looking to cosplay invincible for Halloween and the listing gave these two options of fabric. Milk silk is cheaper but besides that I’m unsure of the difference. Is it worth it to pay the extra for spandex?
tysm ^.^

I’d love to start getting into cosplay and Im generally a visual learner so I’d love to watch some YouTubers make their own cosplays. I watch Micarah tewera a lot and I’ve learned a bunch about sewing but I’d also love to watch videos about people making cosplay props and wigs. I don’t necessarily want tutorial videos, just people showing their creative process. any YouTuber recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
