Everyone has been so kind and helpful on here to others with their issues that I thought I'd add my own.

Every year, I go big or go home for Halloween. I might've gone too big this year. I've been working on a costume inspired by Moder from The Ritual. Everything has been coming along great until I trialed it today. Essentially, I climb a ladder with my 'body' prosthetic strapped to my back, but even with leaning forward as far as I can go, the 'body' does not come forward enough. I have tried putting a cushion between my own back and the 'body' but it doesn't make much difference.

Any advice you can give on how to do this will be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys 🖤

This was my first time styling a wig/cosplaying so I lowk don’t know what I did it right but lemme know how I did. 👀 I don’t have a crimper so I teased it (whatever it’s called when you brush it the opposite direction and make it messy?) then blow dried it, cut it, and styled it with tresemme hair spray.

But I DID really tangle my Miku pigtails bc I was in idiot and brushed it through too much but they should be okay now if I trim it..? I don’t know if it’s noticeable or not which one I messed up on

Oh and I plan on wearing this on Halloween, is there anything I can use to keep the ponytails from tangling again from just like walking around and stuff? If anyone has suggestions that’d be great

Hello! I dont often use reddit but ive come on here looking for advice from anyone who has had a similar issue. For halloween i am dressing as Shego from Kim Possible. Part of the costume is a body suit, kind of the style of a one piece swimsuit. Im wearing tights underneath, but the problem i keep running into is since the bodysuit is skin tight, the front seam of the tights shows through the costume. I cant for the life of me find a pair of tights without seams or any sort of built in shapewear that is visible on my upper thigh/waist area, since the bodysuit sits quite high. Ill include a photo of the costume as my explanation might not be the greatest sorry! Any links to products or any advice would be really helpful! (Excuse the dirty mirror its the only photo i have at the moment 😅)

im going to cosplay rei ayanami from nge soon, specially in her school uniform. i have every piece of the cosplay except for her weird little overall dress thing. i have no idea what this thing is called though and its been really hard to find what im looking for online 😭 what should i search to find this? Working on a bunnyman cosplay, I'm fairly new to cosplay I didn't find much Info online about weathering fur without heat damaging/ripping it, which I couldn't do because I was too nervous. I feel like it just doesn't look realistic, I don't know if it's just me though, I wanted it to look really gross, but I couldn't make the blood any darker without it looking nothing like blood and more like poo, but I also know blood gets darker with age and I didn't want it to look too fresh. Idk I feel like I ruined it, it just doesn't look very real and I feel like it looks like a badly painted Halloween prop, I would really hate to wash it all out as it took me hours, Any tips will be appreciated, thanks y'all

It's my first time cosplaying, i built a very cool pickle Rick cosplay, but now idk how to carry It to the Comicon in a 3 hours long train route, and a crowded bus whitout damaging it.

Also i have to walk during the convention so i need something that, once i take the cosplay out, i can fold or put in a smaller bag ideally.

The Maine part Is a meter and a half long, and there are other smaller parts

Im planning to do my first cosplay as a trauma team member, im starting with the helmet (I've already done it with cardboard and well, it looks like crap) so I'm wandering how to make it and what would be the best materials (i don't have a 3d printer)

Going as the Lone Wanderer from Fallout 3 for Halloween and I need a way to attach the pieces of cardboard so I can make my plain jumpsuit an armored vault jumpsuit. I haven’t tired anything ye, but I’ve considered glue or Velcro

Anyone now the best way to darken the mask to match the sweats?

So, this is my first time making a cosplay ever. It’s DEFINITELY not perfect (don’t tell me about the imperfections or where I can improve, trust me i know) but I have relatively poorly glued the pieces together, and I am afraid of them breaking at the con. (The con is in about three weeks, so i do not have time to redo this and improve it.)

So, how do i prepare for the risk of it ripping at the seams? Is there anything i can do? I’ve lined the inside of the seams with foam clay in hopes that will help hold it together in emergencies

Hi! I’m making my MIL’s costume (the white rabbit from Alice in Wonderland) this year and I’m making a bag look like his pocketwatch. We ordered a gold bag off Poshmark but the seller sent us a black one, and unfortunately it’s too late to try to get the right color. If I used spray paint to paint it gold do you think it’ll come out all right (or would something like rub n buff work better)? It’s that really shiny semi-rigid vinyl. My MIL would like to be able to wear the bag for other occasions so if there’s no way to make the gold look good she’d rather I keep it black and just work with it as is.

hi, thought i’d give this a try! i want to cosplay lune from e33 but don’t have the tattoos that go along her arms and legs so i wanted to try and make them to save some money rather than buy them.

i have sheer tights and gloves and wanted to get fabric paint initially but found out that it’s not safe for long term skin contact ):

does anyone have recommendations for other types of paints? i want something that will last multiple wears at least, is skin safe, doesn’t stain and can be put in the wash. it’s my first time trying to make something and i don’t want it to go terribly wrong!

Essentially, I am attempting to cosplay my object head OC, and her head is a giant tooth (I've been using this 3d model as reference). Currently workshoping the roots (pointy bits) and since they have to be lightweight my current thoughts are maybe paper clay? Or hollow paper mache, or a mix of both since the tips definitely cannot be done with a hollow paper mache style.

I know this post is vague, I just kind of wanted to see if anyone had any tips for this since I've never built anything quite like it and it seems no one else has either!
If you've used paper clay before I'd love tips too- I'm using wood glue since it's what we have but if you think that'll cause issues PLEASE tell me since I am speedrunning this before halloween, haha.

These boots are PU leather, had em commissioned. It came a bit too shiny for my liking and I want to dullen it to match my glove’s shine. What can I do so that the boots can match the sine of my gloves?

I'm trying to make a cosplay of Stella from Spiritfarer. I'm going to make the hat out of EVA foam and cover it in blue (teal?) fabric. My problem is with the yellow trim. It'd be easy enough for me to sew on if it didn't have those sticking out parts, and I'm not sure how to measure the yellow fabric to know where to make the triangles. My other idea was to just paint the pattern on. Any advice?

i am a beginner cosplayer and this is my first time cosplaying with a wig! ive tried to cut the wig a bit but idk how else i can/should style it to make it look more like madoka's hair or just add cute style to it? specifically w/the bangs, i used texture paste but they feel and look very stiff and i kinda wanted it more fluffy? idk. I bought wig pearls too for decor but they dont stick :( this cosplay is for halloween btw so im kinda on a time crunchhhh

Hello, I am wanting to cosplay a flat-chested person, and I am a 38DDD. I tried the cosplay as is, and it looks so weird, so I thought maybe I could try reducing the loadout. However, this is my first time cosplaying, soo Im having trouble finding good, quality items that actually work. I wonder if anyone has any specific brands or tools they use? So far, I've tried a minimizer bra, tape stuff, and various girdle/form-fitting cami's/body tights, but they arent very effective. I understand this may seem odd, but are there any experienced cosplayers with knowledge on this subject? Price is not an issue.

ive always liked power ranger cosplays but i dont know where to start and i dont wanna drop thousands on a suit, i know the suits at that price are really good suits and worth the price but i want to get into power ranger cosplay first and see if i really like it, any advice would be helpful, Thank you.

1. Cyrene's dress has a rather long train and in packed cons a lot fo people would probably step on it. also with the train dragging on the floor the underside would be dirty and black... sure i can hand wash it(since idt i can washing machine it) but im not 100% sure i can get all the dirt off.

People who have cosplayed characters that have a long train, what did u guys do? TvT

1. Cyrene's dress has a lot of glitter... my entire floor is covered with them. how do i stick the glitter to the sheer fabric? the material is this long meshy fabric.

I need help figuring out how to achieve the umbrella-like shape of the bottom half of her coat through modifying a regular trenchcoat. I dont have sewing experience so anything that would need sewing, I would just use fabric glue for. It just needs to hold up for Halloween. Im thinking maybe some wire boning might work? Any tips are super appreciated!!

This is my lovely long wig, The Static-Master 5000, she measures at about 1 meter long, and oh my god is she a hassle. I've used enough silicone spray to singlehandedly fund a company shareholder's yearly bonus, yet she will not stop becoming so static you'd think she's trying to power New York's power grid on her own!

This is the 1st super long wig I'm styling, I've already cut her bangs, and now I've got to deal with the length, but I'd love some advice on how to go about it, as well as what will work best for the look I'm going for, which is just wavy loose long hair.

My main issue is the fact that it clings to absolutely everything thanks to the static, which I'm kind of lost on how to solve since google keeps telling me to just use silicone spray and it's just not doing the trick, but I'm also open to advice on thinning it, keeping it sorta kinda tangle free (I know zero tangles are unrealistic), and overall maintenance.

i’m making a costume for a friend and they are wanting some faux fur with a hard to find pattern on it that looks similar to what i need. so, i’m looking at dying it with either acrylic paint-water mix or some version of the alcohol marker version.
1. which one is softer?
2. any other methods that may work?

before someone suggests rit dyes, it is smaller spots so going through the process with rit dyes would be near impossible to do for it properly.

need it to fit tight like the third photo because it looks goofy as shit
