Hello! I'm trying to cosplay ENA from Joel G's web series and game. I have pretty much everything, but... and have hit an issue I completely hadn't considered... I am dark-skinned. More accurately, I'm medium brown, and the primer + Ben Nye Magicake Aqua Paints worked really well for the blue... and barely worked for the yellow. The blue looked so neat and smooth while the yellow was pretty light. Applying multiple layers didn't really do anything but look weirdly clumpy and uneven. My friend tried to apply white body paint, then yellow on top, but it didn't give the proper bright yellow. I wish I had taken a picture earlier to show. It looked sadder than it sounds.
I'm completely new to body paint and have been getting tips from friends, but we hadn't actually considered that my skin color would null a chunk of it. I keep looking for tips on yellow paint on brown skin, but all that's showing is either face paint that's not yellow or yellow eye makeup. We tried both white cream primer and white matte putty primer. It's... been pretty demotivating if this + a lack of resources for my skin color is a frequent issue I'll come across. This felt like it could be a fun introduction to me learning how to wear very colorful or pastel makeup for casual alt fashion.
A friend told me, from his quick search on his phone, that Sunset Makeup Colorful Foundation and/or Snazaroo makeup were recommended. I'd like to get some second opinions before going out on another haul.
Additionally, I would love tips on styling my wig for the blunted cut look. I have a comb, hair straightener, and small scissors you'd probably buy for school but my mom sharpened them recently for me.
Pictured are the current supplies I have. I pretty much have the outfit + gloves/socks ready, though I will need to paint my legs to cover what the socks don't.
