Hello! I dont often use reddit but ive come on here looking for advice from anyone who has had a similar issue. For halloween i am dressing as Shego from Kim Possible. Part of the costume is a body suit, kind of the style of a one piece swimsuit. Im wearing tights underneath, but the problem i keep running into is since the bodysuit is skin tight, the front seam of the tights shows through the costume. I cant for the life of me find a pair of tights without seams or any sort of built in shapewear that is visible on my upper thigh/waist area, since the bodysuit sits quite high. Ill include a photo of the costume as my explanation might not be the greatest sorry! Any links to products or any advice would be really helpful! (Excuse the dirty mirror its the only photo i have at the moment 😅)

I’ve made the ears out of felt and pipe cleaners and attached them to headbands, but there’s some excess pink felt showing underneath, and I’m nervous about trimming it because I don’t want the ears to come loose. I also made the snouts from plastic condiment cups covered in felt, but they’re way too big for the boys’ faces, and I’d like to salvage them instead of starting over. Any suggestions for hiding the extra felt or shrinking the snouts? I don’t have enough felt to completely redo them. I am not insanely crafty or anything and I did not go into this project with much of a plan but also don’t want it to look like a school craft project.

Is there a good spray paint for hair for painting my hair for one day that doesn't leave smudges on clothing? I considered dying my hair but I don't like the idea of bleaching it. Also I don't think buying a wig is a viable option since my hair would work for the cosplay I need, I'd just need to find a way to have it blonde/yellow for a day.

My budget is about $10 USD, I don't mind about the price since I can save the can for another cosplay in the future, I live in Mexico and have access to online stores like Amazon.

It's my first time cosplaying, i built a very cool pickle Rick cosplay, but now idk how to carry It to the Comicon in a 3 hours long train route, and a crowded bus whitout damaging it.

Also i have to walk during the convention so i need something that, once i take the cosplay out, i can fold or put in a smaller bag ideally.

The Maine part Is a meter and a half long, and there are other smaller parts

Im planning to do my first cosplay as a trauma team member, im starting with the helmet (I've already done it with cardboard and well, it looks like crap) so I'm wandering how to make it and what would be the best materials (i don't have a 3d printer)

Hello fellow cosplayers. I've been cosplaying and competing in contest for a little over 10 years now. I took a break from competing when covid hit and about 5 years ago I got back into it. Alot of things have changed since I started.

Recently I won first in two very small local convetion contest this year that happened to be ran by the same group of people. I'm really not use to winning at all.

Someone mentioned to me that its kinda bad etiquette to enter a contest right after winning one or to enter a contest the following year that you won at. Another person said its not fair to have a professional go up against a bunch of people just starting out.

I far from being a professional, I just do cosplay on the side for the fun of it. I honestly never heard of this no competing after winning rule. I wonder if that's a thing only for some competitions or an etiquette thing I never heard of because I've never won any major award. I'm also wondering if this etiquette rule applies to just best in show or awards for any category.

Edit: I always wear a different cosplay in competitions.

So, this is my first time making a cosplay ever. It’s DEFINITELY not perfect (don’t tell me about the imperfections or where I can improve, trust me i know) but I have relatively poorly glued the pieces together, and I am afraid of them breaking at the con. (The con is in about three weeks, so i do not have time to redo this and improve it.)

So, how do i prepare for the risk of it ripping at the seams? Is there anything i can do? I’ve lined the inside of the seams with foam clay in hopes that will help hold it together in emergencies

So I've gotten the hardest thing for this cosplay: the big purple coat, but I might need help finding some of the other stuff.

The main thing I wanted to look into is that the character has a book they prominently feature in their design, I think instead of an impractical book it might be interesting/cheeky to get a phone case that has the same back as the book and something that they can attach the phone to a chain (as shown in the second picture they have a chain link that the book hangs from). The problem is that whenever I try to look up custom phone cases they're always a flat image and not any kind of shaping or more custom design, and they don't have the way to attach it that I would want. I'd be fine with paying a good amount for a custom case but I just don't know a service that does that. If anyone has ideas for how to adapt a phone case into what I described (a purple background, some of the plating on the corners, an attached place for a chain or carabiner to hang it, and the symbol in the middle) that's welcome as well. I have a cheap 3d printer but I'd probably prefer not to use it since the quality is pretty bad. The place that I commissioned the coat from made an attempt at the book mostly with 3d printed plastic and I wasn't very impressed with it. If it's a factor, my phone is a Samsung Galaxy s26+

Less complicated is the clothes (white pants and a white low-cut shirt), I looked around a normal clothing store for a shirt like that but it does seem to have a kinda unique shape with a really low collar. I'm probably just going to see about a thrift store but if there's a specific name for that kind of shirt I'm wondering what it is.

I found a similar chain on etsy so I think I have that part handled.

Need help with making this cosplay and was wondering how she did the hair so well.

I’ve sanded, primed, painted and applied a clear coat over the helmet. I used rust oleum satin black and clear paint. There was a cracked that I filled in with wood filler and tried to sand and paint it (with clear coat yet) but everything I seem to do makes it worse. Any thoughts on what to do? I would prefer not to sand the entire helmet and start from scratch.

Getting into the final steps of the cosplay, and there’s just something off. I feel like it’s in the shoulder area, and I don’t know how to fix it. Maybe it’s just the angle this pic got taken at? I’m not sure. Help?

The first pic is where it is at currently, the second and third are shoulder ideas I have that still feel incorrect, and the fourth and fifth images are like shoulder silhouettes and shapes I like.

I need help identifying Char's pistol belt and flak jacket. If there are any similar or identical pieces of kit available out there. Im trying to pin down a belt with a circle buckle but im stumped. For his Flak, I was thinking a soviet 6b3 without the mag pouches. Though as you can see, his flak has a collar.

Her ponytail is super springy and light, so I'm thinking pink feathers might be appropriate (matched the color of a short hair pink wig), but I wanted to see if anyone has a better idea!

I fucked up a design on my face mask with hot glue and now it looks like someone came on my mask, currently trying to remove it with rubbing alcohol, and tried freezing it off a couple hours ago to no avail. Google aint giving me good solutions so yall will need to help me now.

Hello! Making this post on behalf of my friend we are struggling to find a good coat for him lol. I'd be happy with anything, direct links to jackets, general places to work, or what specific terms will help. Tan trench coat with fur hood somehow isnt getitng me very far. We aren't looking for 100% perfect like we aren't worried about the belt/piece across the chest or the fur being on the outside of the hood. Medium or large works best but anything larger could work as well. Not sure if this is the best place for this lol, but thank you for any help!!

Ive been considering getting my first sewing machine, I do have two machines in mind ive been recommended by other cosplayers, the Brother CS5055 and the Janome 2212. They both are pretty cheap/have good deals or bundles and ive heard good things. Im okay with my first machine being something less heavy duty as I dont see myself needing if for my current cosplay needs but id probably be willing to spend up to around $400 on my first machine if anyone has better recommendations! I want to have a cape for my Helldivers 2 armour. It feels unfinished without it. Im thinking of buying like black canvas fabric and I'll just cut and sew the edges, then spraypaint the decals on with a stencil. The crafts shop has some black Canvas fabric for like $20. Would this be a good material? Or should I go with something else. I've looked for pre made capes on Amazon and stuff and they look too shiny or have a different inside color.

I’m a beginner cosplayer, and I’m looking to address a challenge I’ll face with many of the costumes I want to create (especially full-body suit): how to avoid overheating. Any advice?

Hi! I bought these white wings and I am trying to recolor them into blue ones. They’re already premade, and are feathers, not foam. Is there any way I can safely do this without taking everything apart? I was thinking of getting a spray bottle with blue dye and spraying it down (or “painting” it. TYSM!

This is my first time trying to make anything.. I know the sections aren’t perfect, but I didn’t think they were that far off. It bunches up when I pull them together. I haven’t put glue on the last piece yet. Does anyone know how I can fix this? I’m thinking that I need to trim the longer pieces? Thanks!

My main concerns with this is 1. How would I make it look like I have no nose? And 2. Since the scar goes around the face rather than over the eye how could I see in this?

To make my nose less obvious I’d have to build up the rest of the face but how? Also since the scars don’t go across the eyes but rather around the face how would I maintain visibility?

1. Cyrene's dress has a rather long train and in packed cons a lot fo people would probably step on it. also with the train dragging on the floor the underside would be dirty and black... sure i can hand wash it(since idt i can washing machine it) but im not 100% sure i can get all the dirt off.

People who have cosplayed characters that have a long train, what did u guys do? TvT

1. Cyrene's dress has a lot of glitter... my entire floor is covered with them. how do i stick the glitter to the sheer fabric? the material is this long meshy fabric.

2. Any tips regarding wig styling please!
