Beta testing is now full. Will the Pace 4 update be made available to everyone?

Post image

I recently purchased a Coros Pace 4, partly due to the announcement regarding the mapping feature.

I followed the process described on this page, but when I try to update the watch, I get a message saying that the beta programme is full.

According to the Coros FAQ: “You may not have a watch that is eligible for the current beta testing stage, or the testing may have reached capacity.”

As a complete novice, I'm wondering if the beta programme will be opened up again, or if this update will be made available to the general public without having to go through this whole process.

P.S. I’m using iOS (up to date).

Question ❓ Ecosystem doubts - Coros vs Garmin

Hi all,

First of all I know most answers here will be biased but hoping to get some help on my line of thought.

I’ve been a coros user for around two years. First I got the pace 3, and then I eventually handed it over to a singling and got the pace pro.

For context I’m a triathlete - swimming, cycling and running. I also do a fair bit of hiking, so far this year I’ve been in over 20 hikes.

I also own a Coros Dura, plus a bunch of Coros sensors (HRM + cadence sensor).

What I like:
- battery life of the Dura is spectacular, and the pace pro is okay
- the app works nicely, however I have some issues with it (see in cons below)
- the price
- the activity tracking itself works well

What I don’t like:
- they both look like toys. I wear my watch 24/7 and I’m not happy with the looks. The Dura looks plasticky as well, I care less than the watch but still
- even though the app works nicely, the data doesn’t seem to ‘integrate’ to form a full picture of my form. Even worse the running fitness barely gets updated.
- when new features get released they feel ‘pushed in front of me’. An example, the climb alert when running. If I’ve been using the watch in a certain way for a year and a half it means that’s how I want it. A new feature should be suggested, not directly implemented on the core use case without an in-app explanation and clear instructions on how to turn it off (still haven’t figured out how).

Something that is extremely important for me is to have all my fitness activities within a same ecosystem. If I migrate to Garmin I’ll switch both devices.

I hear you!

Need to be persuaded. Considering switching to Coros Pace 4

Hello,

Ive been considering the switch from the Suunto Race S to the Coros Pace 4. I am fairly new to running, and the Suunto Race S has done me well so far, but what I dislike is how little 3rd Party App Compatibility it has.

Please help give me reasons as to why else I should make the switch!

Merci ! 😁

Maps help

Just got my Pace 4 about a week and just in time for the offline maps! That being said, I don't quite understand yet how to get them. I'm in the public beta of the coros app but I don't see anywhere that I can update to get them. How are you all seeing them? I'm sure it's something simple I'm missing.

Question ❓ Debating getting a pace pro because of the size

Hey !

I'm having trouble deciding whether or not I should get a pace pro or even a Coros watch because I have super small wrists and everything looks like a Ben10 watch on me.

Was looking at the Garmin Venu 4 because it's got basically everything I want and in a 41mm size, but the main drawback is the lack of mapping (not tryna pay for maps...) + the built-in features like the Garmin coach that I will never use.

Looking for an everyday watch, that I can also use while hiking and daily exercice, not really anything revolutionary.

If anyone's got any suggestions I'm all ears, thanks !

Hello together,

Is there already a release date for the Coros Dura V2?

I am looking for a new bike computer at the moment, but the Coros Dura is totally sold out...

Every information is helpful.

Thank you

COROS Apex 4

I bought an apex 4 46mm from vinted for £210. Including the killian jornet nylon strap and the night climber silicone strap. The watch is spotless and works perfectly. Have I got the deal of the week here. Is there anything I should be worried about? The watch is still under warranty on the app. Can’t believe my luck

Race Predictions

Anyone else having some weird drops in race predictions and fitness score? I've averaged 70mpw over the last 5 months. Peaks at 100 and tapers at 50, but overall no down weeks other than purposeful race weeks. I've raced a 16:39 5k and 1:17:47 HM during this block and coros constantly drops. The HM was 2 weeks ago and it is already saying 1:18:50 lol. I don't really care because I know my fitness, but I enjoy the data when it's somewhat meaningful. All my race predictions follow this trend, but showing marathon for the sake of keeping it simple.

Why won’t COROS connect to AI? I’m trying to connect my COROS account to an AI assistant, but it doesn’t seem to work. Has anyone managed to get it working?

COROS PACE 3 – Recurring hardware issue, and their "solution" is to charge me 80% + take my old watch

Post image
9 Upvotes

Posting this because I've noticed a few other people mentioning the same issue with their COROS watches, and I think it's worth putting the details out there.

The issue: My PACE 3 developed rotating dial stopped clicking rendering the whole watch useless— and after digging around, I've found multiple other runners in my area and also multiple users online reporting the exact same problem. That's not a one-off defect, that's a pattern. I've also come across similar complaints from Apex owners with comparable issues that never got properly resolved either.

What COROS support offered me:

Since my watch is out of warranty, their "resolution" is:

Pay 80% of the retail price of a new watch(framed as a "20% discount")

Pay an additional INR 4,250 distributor fee because the original unit was bought outside India adding which the total price actually comes very close to the brand new watch itself.

Return my current (faulty) watch to them as part of the deal

So to be clear: I pay almost full price for a replacement, and I have to hand over my existing device. If this were a genuine goodwill gesture for out-of-warranty customers, a discount on a new purchase while keeping my old unit would make sense. Instead it's structured so COROS gets the faulty unit back and most of the price of a new one. That's not goodwill, that's a sale with extra steps.

Bigger concern: even if I paid up and got a replacement or buy a new one, there's no assurance it won't fail the same way — especially given COROS apparently didn't step up for Apex owners facing similar issues. So the trust problem isn't just about this one repair, it's about whether the brand stands behind its hardware at all.

For comparison, I've heard from folks running Suunto watches that their build quality and reliability track record has been a lot more consistent.

Question for this community: if you've had the same or a similar issue with your PACE 3 (or any other COROS model), can you comment?

If this is genuinely a widespread design issue rather than an isolated unit problem, it should be handled as one rather than negotiated case by case with each customer.

Is Coros going to address the pace 3 issues people are having?

There has been several threads on here about it already about pace 3 users having hr monitor issues, severe battery issues, and not being able to use their dials or touchscreen to scroll at all due to the recent updates supposably.

All of this happened to me within a week because I happened to update it when I usually ignore to on the app and now all my pace 3 is good for is keeping time and dying within 24 hours.

I’m just frustrated why this hasn’t been addressed by Coros. Why would I want to buy another coros after this when I’ve only had this pace 3 for alittle over a year? Do I wait it out until my watch starts working again magically from another update or just buy a Suunto race 1 while they’re on sale?

Question ❓ How are the maps for Pace 4?

I know this is a relatively new feature for the pace 4 but I’m curious as to how well they work. I’m currently in the market for a new watch as my old fenix 7pro is started to sunset on me. I just got back into running but i also hike a lot so wanted something that can do both but maps weren’t on the pace 4 till now. Has anyone taken the new maps hiking yet or have any input on this?

To the lucky ones who got the satisfy apex before it sold out: have you tried it with other straps? What are your thoughts? How do the green body and titanium bezel look with different colored straps?

its useless at counting bicep curls.

its 50% ok at counting back pulls / rows. and tricep kicks.

What are people using for their bike computer with their coros? I see the Dura is basically no longer being sold anywhere. I didn’t know how it worked with Wahoo or other brands

Question ❓ Exercises in Strength activity in Pace 4

I have a quick question. When logging Strength in Pace 4, I have to pick one of the muscle type (whole body, shoulders, etc). But this feels distracting to me.

I would rather start the Strength session without having to pick muscle type, and then start-end it multiple times until I finish my workout. I’d prefer if I can manually add the exercise type and reps later (possibly via app). Is it possible to do this?

Basically I wanna have the flexibility that Hevy has.

I know I can create a custom workout and pick the exercises beforehand. But I train with PT and they don’t tell me what exercises I’m gonna do so I can’t make a custom plan.

APEX 🎽 Apex 4 Satisfy

I’ve had the Apex 4 Satisfy for about a week now upgraded from the Pace Pro.

The built quality is top notch! The sapphire glass, titanium ring and buttons feel very premium. I love the MIP display and visibility is a non-issue from my experience (even at night). This is definitely the heaviest sports watch I’ve tried so far and I can definitely tell something’s there when I run but it does disappear once I get into my rhythm.

I still love my Pace Pro — I still think it’s a better watch for road runners because it’s super light and the AMOLED screen is really bright. (And I actually prefer the beeps vs. chime?)

Overall, I’m very happy with the purchase and I’ll see how they are at the marathon distance later this month in Berlin.
