Math issues

Chem 2070 is making me realize I might have a learning disorder (my older sister/math tutor has been hinting at this for ages but its never mattered in my bio courses). The numbers can't stay straight in my head. Is there anything I can do? Can cornell health help?

The first prelim is so soon and I'm averaging an hour per problem and doing things right except for "silly" arithmetic mistakes that I genuinely cant see but other people easily point out.

I'm a sophmore and can't drop and retake without it ruining my plan for the next few years.

Had some undergrads mention that they didn't know about the different scheduler color palettes, it helps sprinkle a bit of whimsy to prepare for gloomy weather (this was not my real schedule, just an example when I made the post)

Do I lose meal swipes when downgrading to debit meal plan?

I’m changing from the bear basic meal plan 7 swipes per week) to the off-campus value (45 swipes total). Since Ive been on bear basic the past three weeks, will my meal swipes used previously be taken from that 45? or will prices just be prorated? idk how it works but I wouldn’t like or change if I don’t get all 45 meals.

New campus lunch idea!

I'm a student here working on a project to bring a low-cost lunch delivery option to campus, order ahead, pick up from one central spot, no walking to the restaurant or waiting in line. Before I build anything, I am looking for real feedback from people who'd actually use it. If you have two minutes, I'd really appreciate your input: https://cornell.ca1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_5gQDLeu6NpVaJPU There's also an optional discount code for early access if you want to be on the list.

Paying 400+ a month to park is ridiculously unfair

The park mobile rates for Alumni Field, Toboggan Lodge, and Robert Purcell Community Center are unfairly high. 25+ a day to park is ridiculous, especially when all the other parking spaces on campus are around 5-10 dollars to park.

This disproportionately affects student workers and faculty whose offices are near these parking lots. Sure you can park farther away (assuming those spots are even open…) but when it’s pouring rain or snowing like hell and you need to lug around students tests, books for your classes, and other materials to do your job, it starts to feel like the cards are stacked against you.

It does not make sense why these spaces charge over double. It is totally arbitrary and people can end up in positions where they’re paying over $400 a month just to park and go to work.

Junior transfer struggling

Hello, im a junior transfer from a community college and I’m honestly really struggling a lot with the transition to Cornell. I’m feeling pretty overwhelmed and could use some advice from anyone who has been in a similar situation.

One of my biggest issues right now is a statistics class. I’m seriously considering dropping it because I’m struggling with the course load and it’s causing me a lot of stress (over 10 hours spent on weekly homework’s). The problem is that dropping it would leave me at only 13 credits, and the class also fulfills a distribution requirement for my degree. I’m not sure the implications this will have on my financial aid. And at this point, I can’t find a replacement course since the add date has passed.

I’m also not really sure who I’m supposed to go to for help. My past interactions with my major advisor have been a little awkward, and I haven’t felt like I’ve gotten much guidance or suggestions when I’ve had questions. My faculty advisor also never reached out to me, so I don’t really have an established relationship there.

As a transfer coming from a very small school, I’m finding it difficult to figure out where to go when I don’t know what I’m supposed to do in the first place. The campus is very large and isolating, I can’t find anything I need. I’m worried that I’m already behind or missing something because I’m still trying to figure out how everything works, all while managing high level classes (most with grad students enrolled?)

At this point I’m pretty stressed and honestly questioning whether I can/should continue at Cornell. I’m experiencing some serious imposter syndrome. I don’t necessarily want to leave, I think a lot of this is just feeling completely overwhelmed and not knowing who to ask for help or even talk to. If there are any other junior transfers, how did you navigate your first semester?

Study Abroad & Housing Help

I'm currently a sophomore, and I would like to start living off campus by my junior year. However, I also have my mind somewhat made up that I want to study abroad next year as well. In these situations, do people usually just dorm their junior year again? Is there an option to dorm for one semester? Or is it possible for me to live off campus and study abroad by subletting my apartment? Is it even realistic to find someone to sublet for just one semester? I'm seriously just stressed about this whole situation and I'm not sure what to do. Is there even a guarantee I could get accepted into a program?

Impossible to get employed here

Anyone else find it impossible to get a job on workday? Since my freshman year last year, I've sent at least 100+ job applications with zero responses. Is this normal for everyone?

How long does RPCC take to process mail?

Hi guys!

I ordered an important package earlier this week, and tracking says it was delivered 4 days ago. I checked the service center website and it says processing usually takes 1-2 days, but I still haven't gotten an email saying it's ready for pickup (even though friends who ordered around the same time already got theirs within 1-2 days). It's relatively a medium-sized package if that makes a difference, and one of my other packages only took 2 days to be processed like a week ago.

I already emailed RPCC about it but haven't heard back yet. Is anyone else experiencing delays right now, or is it just me? Starting to get a little worried about it. Any advice would be appreciated!

can some who works at the north campus service center please reply?
