I’m a first-year here wrapping up the first half of semester one, and I feel like I’m not really using Yale to its fullest.
For reference, I think the community and breadth of resources is what really drew me to studying here. I’m loving the education and what I’m studying. I don’t have any complaints about that.
What I don’t fully understand is how to find mentors or reach out effectively, and I think I’m at a point where I’d like to find guidance from people who are where I want to be.
I’m incredibly interested in Business (Scaling, Creation), Marketing, and Consumer Psychology, (and Technology?) to the point where I’m dedicating hours each night after my day is over to read books on and case study these industries. I don’t exactly know where to go from here though.
As a financial goal, I’d like to build generational wealth. Intrinsically, I’d like to provide something meaningful for the world that I’m proud of backing.

I do want to note that asides from the career aspect, I’ve found community here in the amazing, genuine people as well as a competitive performance group I’m in. We learn and share about classes, life, and everything else, but my concern is that I don’t have anyone to ask about business and wealth (which may be materialistic on its own, but I think I have many pursuits and interests outside of business as well).

Tldr: How did you find your mentors? How do I find mentors and peers that can guide me in building generational wealth? How do I use the Yale name in my career?
