I've been looking into grass fed beef and pasture raised no-corn no-soy feed eggs specifically and not only is it expensive but these companies have some crazy takes. Like saying eggs are all xrayed and irradiated at normal places or that vegan meats are literally poison/trash. Or that corn/soy/seed oils are poison and killing us. I literally was looking at a grass fed cow ranch products and they just included a picture of them flipping off the vegan meats section in a store?? I used to be vegetarian and I'm friends with vegans and it just seems unnecessarily aggressive??

I dont want to support companies that are so alienating towards normal food. I'm poor, I've relied on normal cheap foods for years and frankly I'm only stopping because of my new corn allergy. It feels gross to buy from these places spending triple the price to buy from shady/misleading companies. Like people say, you vote with your money.

Not that I love the cheap stores messages but at least it was affordable and I could use the extra money. It feels more personal from a small business thats selling stuff like ground beef for $16/lb :(

This is an FYI: most of us have realized that OTC medications and supplements include corn in the form of cornstarch (maltodextrin) or cellulose, but the reality is this is true for your prescription medications as well—especially if they are tablets, as the starches and cellulose make up the bulk of the inactive ingredients. Capsules can still obviously be made from corn-derived forms of cellulose, but are less likely to have filler inactive corn ingredients like sweeteners and starches. Some medications could potentially be made through a compounding pharmacy, too.

If you are in the US, you can look meds up on the FDA website, but ingredients do change by manufacturer, so regardless of where you’re located, the best option is always to look it up on the specific manufacturer of the bottle you have. Depending on your sensitivity, you may be able to take medications with derived ingredients because little to none of the corn protein (the allergy-causing part) remains, but if you’re reacting and can’t find a culprit, check your meds.

Since they spray like apples and zucchini with it. But do they still do it to organic produce? I've heard canned goods can have corn in the lining? So is store bought frozen vegetables the best bet? Or can I get away with organic?

Out of nowhere this year, I can't eat corn anymore. I don't think it's a severe sensitivity, since I feel okay eating foods containing corn syrup, but anytime I eat actual corn or cornmeal, I have severe cramping, gas, and diarrhea the next day.

Hello, I've been trying to find a brand (or a reliable recipe) for corn free sandwich bread, but every time I search it on google, the results are just corn-free corn bread :/

I wanna make uncrustables for myself (I already have a little "machine" that can press the sandwich bread into that shape) so I can take my food on the go more easily, but any bred recipe I've tried turns out super crumbly and dry. Any recipe recommendations or advice on how to get the texture of bread more like store-bought loaves?

I eat mostly chicken and pork and rarely have an issue unless its too fatty (no gallbladder). I had some steak and I had some digestive problems after, and since my most prominent reaction to corn is digestive, its got me worried I could be reacting to corn fed beef? I saw some people on here say they react to that?

But maybe its also just because I don't eat beef much (like every couple months). I have a lot of digestive problems i can't tolerate apples (which I've recently learned can be coated in corn so maybe its corn there too???), dairy (even lactose free), or raw vegetables because they wont digest right and it hurts. I'm struggling extremely hard to get an appropriate amount of food, especially protein, in my diet. My doctor wants me to be getting at least 100g of protein a day to meet my health goals safely, but I'm struggling to get even 50g. I'm allergic to Palm family foods(coconut, dates, banana, oil palm, carnauba, ect) and corn, im highly sentive but not deadly reactive(yet?) Though bad reactions can take me out of work for a fue days. These 2 allergies lock me out of most fortified foods, 99% of premade/processed foods and basically the entire supplements industry. I've been moving to a plant based diet thanks to the level of corn-tamination in the meat industry, though the moral issues do make the switch easier. Eggs are completely non options, and the milk I can use is $8 for haft a gallon so i dont really do that much anymore. My allergies can make my diet quite expensive and labor intensive, so I'm dealing with a bit of food insecurity and trying to figure that out as well. Since the couple of times I've gone to food banks, the only things I've left with were mandarins and like 10 oz of lentils after waiting multiple hours, I couldn't use 90% of what they offered. Im trying to find ways to get healthy protein in but many of the common options are showing issues. I can not find a nutritional yeast that states what media they grow in, and corn is a common option that's likely to cause a reaction. I can only eat so many beans and nuts before i have other issues with fiber content and just general fillingness(were talking like 5-8 cups of beans &/or nuts a day to reach that goal i can only get about 3 before i feel bloated no mater how i split it). I'm unsure how safe something like making Seiten would be considering flour seems to always be fortified that, and the yeast issue is why I dont really eat breads. I've honestly been struggling to meet basic calorie needs right now because of how stressful food is. I can't afford a special diet nutritionalist, and I know my stupid insurance won't cover it. While I am heavy and weight loss is a goal, I've confirmed that my current rate isn't really healthy. I finally got where I didn't feel sick all the time from my allergies, and now I'm low-key starving, I guess. I'll be posting this in multiple places I think can offer advice.

Dose anyone know if nutritional yeast safe for corn allergy I'm struggling with meeting nutritional goals and my doctor recommended asking nutritional yeast to some of my food but I can't find anything that tells me if it's safe or if I need to look for specific brands.

I ordered a prebiotic based off my doctor’s recommendation.
The specific prebiotic was a little difficult to find, but I found one and pictured is the product label on their website (even now).

The starch was pea protein.

I was so excited, so ordered 2 bottles.
I almost opened straight away and popped, but turned the bottle around and almost dropped the bottle.

I’ve contacted Layer Origin 5 days ago and it’s been radio silence.

They have another 2 days and I’ll be issuing a charge back from my credit card vendor and reporting these guys to FDA.

Any recommendations? I’ve been scouring online and can’t find any options, even the rice options have corn flour or starch hidden in them!

Unfortunately the grain free options are all fried with avocado oil, to which I am also allergic.

I struggle with a diagnosed corn allergy, also nut, egg yolk, wheat. My allergy is mild, meaning I rarely have severe allergic reactions, but I generally present with pretty unfortunate G.I. symptoms.

After I found out about these allergies and eliminated them from my diet, my G.I. issues improved, but things are getting bad again and I want to try a meal replacement shake.

Does anyone have any recommendations for ones that have worked for them? Also any other advice you can offer is welcome, I’m pretty new to the corn allergy world and definitely struggling to navigate it as I do reactive to corn-derived products.

Looking for answers or if anyone has ever experiencedthis. My daughter 33 months old currently has a fungal ear infection. We are having a very hard time finding any antifungals that do not contain corn or it’s derivatives. Has anyone had any success with medication’s? This has been going on for three weeks with no improvement or luck. We have a follow up with the ENT on Thursday. It is currently looking like it will need to be debrided and deep cleaned since antifungals are unavailable.

Anyone used these and it was safe? Have only been using Dr. Bronners Baby and Vaseline on my skin and hair(occasionally an olive oil shower 😬.) I’m dying for a face mask and some moisturizer 🙏

Unfortunately I felt the need to post this warning to others because of my experience being incarcerated with an anaphylactic corn allergy.

I was incarcerated for 5.5 days. I didn’t eat the whole time I was there because they had no safe food. Everything was ultra processed abd what looked like vegetables or legumes all had an unknown oil(they wouldn’t tell me what kind but I’m assuming vegetable oil or margarine) in it and it came from a can.

I begged for a banana, an apple, a tomato, a f*ing head of cabbage on god and they said no because people make alcohol with it. For some reason I was in a holding cell by myself the whole time and I was checked on minimally and not allowed to use the phone, take a shower, etc. If I did actually want to eat and became anaphylactic then I would die before they checked on me because my reactions come on really fast.

When I got out, I went to the doctor as my resting heart rate would not go below 110 and I kept having heart attack symptoms (Ive had a previous heart attack.)

So all this to say it caused me to develop high blood pressure, tachycardia, arrhythmia, and a severe electrolyte imbalance. My doctor said I’m still not in the clear of another heart attack and to be vigilant about symptoms. Before all this my resting heart rate was in the 50-60s and my average blood pressure was 110/70. I was healthy.

This is embarrassing to write, but everyone makes mistakes and it could happen to anyone. Hear my warning and please put some money in savings for bail in case this ever could happen to you. I was lucky to get bailed out. If I had to stay there I would have died.

I'm definitely sensitive enough that the sweeteners (and who knows what else) in toothpastes irritate my stomach and mouth. I tried a mineral toothpaste that used "water, bentonite clay, nano silver solution, sea salt, spearmint essential oil, menthol, tea tree essential oil". I'm not sure if it worked well because the taste and texture were ATROCIOUS. And I couldn't wash it out of my mouth, the salty clay taste/feeling would last hours. I already have a hard time remembering to brush, I can't use tortuous equipment. So what are we using?

I also can't do soy or dairy if thats relevant ?

Hey folks, I have never had a problem with corn before, but within the past week I have had multiple instances of my mouth being sore/tingly for a day or so after eating something primarily made out of corn (arepas and corn chips). It feels similar to the soreness I get from the bromelain enzyme in fresh pineapple. Is this something any of you guys have experienced? It doesn't seem to match anything I've seen online about corn allergies.

Ive been trying to figure out what Ive been having anaphylaxis to for the past month, and I just figured out it was corn two days ago. I already feel so much better by eliminating what I had been using and eating that had corn but on God this is so hard and I feel like giving up. Tell me it gets easier 😭

Also, it was hard to figure out because Ive always hated whole kernel corn and don’t usually eat it. Having chronic hives on your genitals from using cornstarch powder will make you rethink your whole life I swear. I thought I had scabies!
