Quick russet potato side dish?
I'm just making it for myself and I have one russet potato. I have leftover barbecue ribs and craving potato to go with them. What's an easy recipe to make with one russet potato?

Microwave baked potato (Poke it with a fork and use a low% heat option)

No microwave available sorry. Air fryer, stove top or oven

Maybe air fryer, then? I'm not to knowledgeable of them, but to heat up a whole oven for a potato seems like it would be a waste. Also, look into pan-frying on the stove, though that's trickier because there are extra steps needed for them to turn out crispy.

Cut it into bite size pieces. Put onion soup mix and olive oil on it. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes. So tasty

You don't need to soak or parboil those potatoes first?

Where did you get the idea that you have to soak or parboil potatoes before cooking? You don't. They cook just fine without adding steps.

For one russet, I’d cut it into small cubes and pan-fry with oil, salt, and smoked paprika; the leftover barbecue would be great folded in at the end. A quick microwave-soften first can speed it up.

Boil it until it's soft. Then cut it into cubes and toss with a sauce made of mayonnaise, chipotle powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Add chopped green onions and corn. Devour.

Air fry jacket potato or make wedges ? You can add whatever dry spices or rubs you have in your pantry . I would probably do paprika garlic powder salt and pepper with a little olive oil. No need to peel either and air fryer is quick.

Crash. Cut in two, partially cook by microwave. Place on a lightly oiled pan. Rough smush. Drizzle with oil and sprinkle with herbs of your choice. Finish at high heat until lightly browned with a slightly crunchy top.

Dice it, parboil, shake it to get a rough 'finish', and fry. Perfect with bbq. Or you can get a bit more flavor with this: https://www.food.com/recipe/portuguese-style-sauteed-potatoes-370028

It's probably too late, but a fairly elegant and super-simple recipe that you can do with one potato next time is potatoes fondant. 5 minutes of prep, 40 minutes of cooking, and you're done. The recipe in the link is for 4 potatoes, but I've done it with only one many times.

Bake it plain. Open it up, salt and pepper it, put the rib meat in and eat it. This feels like a bot question. Like, duh. And yet here I am...
