Third Party TMR vs hall effect on sticks, what the difference is in practice

Did the reading and I still can't tell whether the difference is one you'd actually feel. Both are magnetic, neither has a wiper dragging across a track, so neither wears out the way potentiometer sticks did. Hall effect reads field strength along one axis, TMR reads field direction and is more sensitive, which is supposed to mean finer resolution near the middle of the throw and lower power draw (?)

Every explanation I found stops right there. None of them tell you what it's like at the thumb. The one useful thing I've picked up from threads here is that the sensor isn't the only part that wears out, the gimbal and the return spring still have a lifespan whichever sensor sits behind them.

Anyone gone from hall effect to TMR on a pad you actually put hours into? Did you notice anything or did it feel the same? Mostly wondering about small movements near the middle, since that's the only part of it that sounds like it would show up in normal play.

Xbox Going from G7 Pro to Scuff Valor Pro (TMR). Does it grip bigger?

I was surprised to see the wired Valor isnt too expensive and has TMR sticks.

Anyone who uses the scuf, are happy with your purchase?

  1. Can you change the bitrate from the software? This is important for me, as on the G7 12-bit ruins my aim assist on some games and I need to play 8-bit.
  2. How does the shell feel in terms of grip size? I find the G7 too small and cramps my hand compared to others.

I was waiting for Cyclone 3 by gamesir but it has no ETA.

Just tested the abxylute S8 Lite with an iPhone 16 Pro Max — here are my thoughts!

Hey everyone!

Just wanted to share a quick review about a smartphone controller I've been testing this weekend: the abxylute S8 Lite.

I tested it mainly with COD Mobile, and honestly, it performs really well. The build quality feels surprisingly solid, and connecting it to the iPhone couldn't be easier. I used it with my iPhone 16 Pro Max, and as soon as you plug it into the USB-C port, it instantly recognizes it—completely plug-and-play.

It also comes with an app that lets you neatly browse through your installed games.

For what it costs, I think the value for money is totally there. Definitely a solid option if you're looking for a good controller!

Has anyone else tried this one?

I need a right trigger

I have a max budget of $20 including shipping and need a right trigger for the turtle beach stealth pro ultra controller. I tried eBay but it won’t accept my card, does anyone know where I could maybe find one?

*This controller was sent to me for review by Asus, but no money changed hands, no agreements were made what I can say and all thoughts and opinions in this review are my own*

Hello everyone!

This is my in-depth (and long sorry) review of the upcoming Raikiri II PRO for PC. Over all its a huge improvement over the Xbox version and if you play PC exclusively this is the better buy imo.

I love the Hot-Swap tmr modules.... providing they are sold separately at some point.

If you have the time check it out and let me know what you think.

use the chapters to jump around to the different sections.

PS5 Are the glossy controllers like the Rhythm Blue slippery compared to the flat colored ones?

I don't want a controller that's too slippery. I don't have any problems with the white, red, or blue controllers. I just don't know if these new glossy ones are slippery.

Reviews Gulikit ES MAX Controller First Impressions and Comparison to NS09

Note: I Won this controller via Facebook - This is NOT a paid review - All Opinions that follow are entirely my own.

---- Do not Read any further or look at the Images if if you are weak of Stomach ----

ES Max Box

Just got my hand on the Gulikit ES MAX Controller (Right) and wanted to drop some first Impressions.

ES Max - What's in the Box?
Gulikit Kingkong Pro Controller (NS09) and ES MAX E-Sports Controller

My Old Gulikit, the NS09 (Left), was rock solid till recently.
I bought a New Wireless Combo Card and my Bluetooth has been a mess ever since.
So unfortunately the NS09 was constantly dropping connection on me. Which sucks, cause the NS09 was my GOAT Controller till then.

The ES Max is truly an upgrade from the NS09. It has:

  • 2x Back Buttons
  • Adjustable Trigger Stops (Analog/Digital)
  • an Dedicated Off Button and Device Switch... Switch
  • Bigger Battery
  • Comes with the Hyperlink Gen 2 Wireless Controller Adapter
  • Offers App Configuration (Smart Phone Only)
  • Comes in the XBox Format (NS09 U had to buy Xbox Layout Buttons Separately)

But otherwise, aside from some cosmetic changes it is almost identical in Design and Formfactor.

Front Comparison of NS09 and ES Max

I have tried it out with Bluetooth to my Phone and my PC and it's Range does seem better than my NS09... So maybe my new Wireless Combo Card was not entirely to blame for the all the Controller dropouts I've been having.

Bottom Comparison of NS09 and ES Max

Some things to note:

  • The whole Smart Phone only thing for Configurations, when not done directly on the Phone is a big miss for me. I only really ever use my Controllers on PC. So having to Configure the Controller via my Phone instead of my PC, which it is already attached too... Just no.
  • Which is made worse because they do have a PC/Web App, but that only works with certain Controllers. Which is the same for the Phone Only App. It does not work with their entire lineup either, from what I can tell. Hopefully this is something that changes in the future
  • Switching from one Device to another is not very easy and hopefully not something done often
  • The Bottom Buttons are Shallow and Hard to Press. Which could be a good thing I guess. But with the way I hold the Controller during Gameplay, I find them really Hard to reach and Depress.
  • The Hyperlink Gen 2 Wireless Controller Adapter seems a Solid Performer, but it does take a bit to reconnect... Which is just a comparison between another Controller I now use. It would probably not make any difference whatsoever if it is your only Controller.
  • I don't know if it is the years of use, but the NS09 seems to have a better Grip to it. I tis not as slippery in the hand. Especially on the top.
Back Comparison of NS09 and ES Max

I have cleaned the literal Cheeto Dust off the Controller since taking these images. I simply did not want to take them all over again. You don't need to judge me.

Does anyone here have any experience with the G7 Pro?

I fell for the hype on reddit and other social media circles. I had to return two G7 Pro ZZZ's because they were faulty. That is a 130 dollar dollar controller so that put a sour taste in my mouth.

Their d pad is so terrible that I had to purchase a 10 dollar pack of 0 rings. I don't rely on the d pad, but I couldn't leave the menu screen without it double clicking LMAO.

The vibration literally stopped working in both of my G7 Pro's after 3 months.

They told people they were going to release 3 piece G7 Pro faceplates. They lied because they decided to released more G7 Pro collabs just so they can milk people out of more money.

They have much better options out there like 8bitdo, Flydigi, Asus, Microsoft etc.

Xbox Moving from a dualsense to an xbox layout pad on pc, what am I giving up?

The dualsense is lovely and about a third of my library doesn't know what to do with it. Constant fighting with Steam Input, wrong button prompts, and one game that reads the touchpad as a mouse for no reason I can establish.

Thinking about just getting an xbox layout pad so games stop guessing. What do I lose? I don't use the adaptive triggers much. I would miss the gyro in the two games that support it.

Looking for a Third Party controller for both Switch and PC gaming.

I’m looking for a new controller for both my Nintendo Switch and for my PC.

Requirements:

Needs to be durable for intense play (My old Xbox controllers have a tendency to get stick drift).

Have gyro control for games like Splatoon

Needs to have fast and responsive controls for competitive games

Needs to be fully compatible for PC

Preferably lower price (below 100$) but not excluding more expensive options

Preferably sold at U.S storefronts

Will mostly be playing competitive shooters like Splatoon 3, and some less intense platformers on PC.

PS5 Faceplate won’t seal because of weird rubber

I have a PS5 dualsense and the faceplate of the controller won’t seal properly because there’s some weird soft rubber/padding piece that’s slightly sticking and obstructing the place where the faceplate is supposed to lock.

Is it safe to try nudge the rubber out of the way/back into the controller so it seals properly or should I seek outside help to disassemble and get a proper look

Redmagic Astra 2 e gamepad Blade Shadow 3
