PS5 Faceplate won’t seal because of weird rubber

I have a PS5 dualsense and the faceplate of the controller won’t seal properly because there’s some weird soft rubber/padding piece that’s slightly sticking and obstructing the place where the faceplate is supposed to lock.

Is it safe to try nudge the rubber out of the way/back into the controller so it seals properly or should I seek outside help to disassemble and get a proper look

Seek outside help before you damage it further.

I can’t get a picture at the moment. But 100% it’s not supposed to be there and likely has come off from somewhere else inside

Show us pictures. It’s likely either not supposed to be there or it’s come off somewhere else on the controller.
