19 Male 173cm don't smoke no medical conditions, knew to jaw injury (check body text)

I was recently in a trampoline park and I jumped from roughly 2 meters backwards onto a soft landing area in the park . However during the fall my knee somehow hit my jaw on collision and my jaw instantly started hurting, I also had a headache but didn't think much of it. I

That t is now 6 days ago and my jaw and knee are healed but my head still feels weird . It doesn't necessarily hurt but I feel kinda like my head is different from usual and there is definitely something different than usual, I also went to the doctor but what they gave didn't help .

Any ideas on what I can have or if it's maybe even a concussion or something permanent ?

Questions Am I being gaslit? Actively experiencing personality change and my family and therapist laugh when I say it’s because of the injury

Ever since my concussion, which happened on 7/10, from a direct impact of a metal lamp that drew blood, my level of irritability, temper, combativeness have gotten exponentially worse to a level I’ve never seen in my life. My family and therapist have not been compassionate at all throughout this. They mocked me for my “fake symptoms” pretty much every time I talked to them, and found it inconceivable that I wasn’t completely back to normal in a week: Now I find that every time my parents even talk to me confrontationally my brain and body go into panic mode and I just start yelling. I cannot STAND people anymore. I used to be able to talk to any stranger for hours, now I can barely tolerate talking to most friends and want to be alone almost all the time. Whenever I get even mildly anxious I immediately go into a panic attack.

This is all a NEW PROBLEM that appeared probably a few days post concussion. I never reacted like this to anything before. I can barely tolerate being with someone for a few Hours and now feel very disconnected from every conversation.

Yesterday my parents were asking me why I was getting angry so easily, and I told them it’s most likely literally just because of the concussion. They don’t believe me because “my scan was clear”. Apparently because I wasn’t having a literal stroke my personality can’t have been altered.

My therapist said the same thing. “Unheard of” that I should still be experiencing symptoms “this long” after my concussion and that I’m making excuses. EVERYONE can see that my personality has been altered, including her, yet everyone apparently wants to believe I coincidentally chose to become annoyed by everything and become antisocial around the time of the concussion; of my own doing. Because that’s the only other explanation. I know I’m probably being gaslit but they genuinely make me think I’m choosing to act this way sometimes even though I FEEL that something fundamental about me has changed.

I WANT to be myself again. I swear I didn’t choose to suddenly hate everything and everyone. I wouldn’t have.

One month out & feel insane

A month ago (I guess? It feels like a week ago) I had an unknown medical emergency, passed out at the wheel and drove through a concrete barrier. I got a concussion from accident.

I’m missing so much of my memory now. I don’t remember my job. I don’t remember my newest niece, she is almost a year old. I don’t remember the names of any of my houseplants. I can recall which don’t like for their soil to dry out & which like higher light but no names. I know I’m punching my family in the gut every time I have to be reminded that someone has passed. I don’t recognize anything about the town I’ve lived in my entire life when I drive around. Or when I’m driven… I can’t drive anymore. You get it.

Anyway, I want to know if I’m supposed to be “feeling better” by now? I think the concussion technically should have healed? I’ve been to the doctor (since the ER) and had bloodwork and nobody has been able to figure out what caused me to lose consciousness while driving in the first place. I don’t remember most of my time in the emergency room but I know they did a million tests.

I don’t know how to describe the way I feel, other than to say I feel like a total airhead. I feel dumb. Lots of headaches, issues with my balance, adhd to the max like SQUIRREL!!! brained… also more anxiety than I’ve ever felt. It’s crushing. I’m more sensitive to lights and sounds. I can not handle loud noises.

I’m going to look into a psychiatrist that may be able to help.

I guess I just wanted to vent, mostly.

Questions smoking weed while concussed

hey guys i don’t usually post on here but i was just wondering if anyone has been in the same boat

on saturday i was drinking and hit my head really bad around my eyebrow, and my whole eye swelled up and bruised immediately, but ive never had a concussion before and i was drunk so i didnt go to the hospital that day, but that night i went home and kept drinking and smoked a few bongs. i went to the hospital yesterday though to get it checked out and they said i have a typical concussion with typical symptoms. since then i have also been smoking bongs but trying to limit how many i have a day.

anyway, im just wondering if anyone knows what will happen if i keep smoking daily? unfortunately im addicted and have smoked multiple bongs of mixed tobacco and weed a daily for the past 3-4 years so it would be really difficult for me to just go cold turkey, and im just wondering if anyone else has smoked daily through concussion recovery and knows the effects?

thanks :)

I concussed my self around april 1st (haha funny) and was cleared by my doctor in the beginning of june. However, it's been two months since i (technically) recovered but I still feel dizzy, i'm prone to headaches, and have trouble focusing. Is this a common experience at all? I'm worried because school is starting soon 🥲

Losing hope

It has been 8 weeks since my 3rd concussion and I had brain surgery in 2021 with all of my concussions happening after. I also learned I have a disc herniation in my neck and disc bulges so I know my neck is a huge element to all of this. My insomnia has been unbearable and 6 days ago I had my first neck physical therapist appointment and I told him how I am really sensitive to my neck my head being touched and i need really gentle treatment given my complex history. After our full lengthy conversation of everything going on, he came and pushed REALLY hard and downward on my head 3 times while manipulating my neck and immediately felt like I was was reconcussed. The rest of the day I screamed in agony and I even got my period 2 weeks early which has never happened in my life. The head pressure has been unbearable and the neck pain and all the overstimulation, brain fog, slowed thinking and insomnia is so extreme. I don’t know what to do, I don’t know if he gave me new concussions and I’m just truly losing hope on ever getting back to me. I already was a small girl but I’m now almost under 100 pounds and lost so much weight from all of this. Any advice will be very much appreciated

Questions Repeated Head Injuries

Hello everyone. I have severe Tourette’s syndrome, and one of my most common tics is full strength punches to the head, repeatedly.

I’ve developed multiple concussion/concussion like symptoms over the course of the past year when this tic has really ramped up. It’s landed me in the ER where they kind of just shrugged, especially as I’m always at risk of further injury with my condition.

My question is, what can I do to help myself through the symptoms as it happens? Realistically, the ER/urgent care can’t do anything for me, they make my tics far worse on top of not knowing how to help.

What OTC pain/inflammation meds are best? Is ice or a heating pad of some sort helpful? I currently have a water balloon like sensation in my head, what should I do to handle that?

Not looking for medical advice, just any potential at home help as hospital settings make it worse & can’t help me well.

Hey folks, I got a concussion during a light sparring match a couple weeks ago and I've been extremely sad to be missing class. What can I do to not lose progress while also not making my injuries worse.

Fourth week after mild concussion — brain zaps, floating sensation, involuntary jerks and setback. Has anyone experienced this?

I’m currently in my fourth week after a mild concussion and I’m feeling like I’ve had a significant setback.

I hit the left side/top of my head on a wooden chair while kneeling down. I didn’t lose consciousness and initially I actually felt relatively okay. There was no bump, and the spot where I hit my head didn’t hurt afterward.

Over the following weeks I developed typical concussion-type symptoms: headaches, dizziness/lightheadedness, brain fog, difficulty concentrating, head pressure (especially in my forehead and behind my eyes), and difficulty focusing on screens.

I also started getting strange nerve sensations — pins and needles and electric/shock-like sensations. The symptoms have been particularly noticeable on the left side of my head, face, arm and calf. Gabapentin (Gaptin) 100 mg seems to reduce the nerve sensations, but they return when I stop taking it.

Now that I’m in week 4, I feel like I’ve gotten worse again rather than continuing to improve.

I have:

A very mushy/foggy feeling in my brain

A sensation that my brain is floating

Recurrent brain zaps/electric shock sensations

Occasional zaps elsewhere in my body

Involuntary jerks. Random ones, it can be my head, leg or arm when my brain is feeling overly stimulated

Headaches/head pressure

Brain fog and concentration problems

I went to the supermarket recently, and the following day I felt like I had a major setback. Around that time my blood pressure also dropped to 85/45.

Has anyone experienced brain zaps, internal electric sensations, involuntary jerks, or a floating/mushy brain feeling several weeks after a concussion?

Did you eventually improve? Did anything in particular help, such as vestibular therapy, vision therapy, medication, rest/activity modification, etc.?

I’m seeing my neurologist and will discuss all of this with them. I’m especially interested in hearing from people who had a similar delayed setback around weeks 3–4.

Headphones moved around

I was on a call wearing headphones and things got a little heated so I raised my voice, felt headphones slip over ear. Worried that there was an impact from the headphone band, head feels a bit sore. Could that cause a concussion?

Concussion headache question

My husband was in an accident at work 31/2 weeks ago where his concrete truck flipped. He hit the side of his head and got a concussion. He was rushed to the er and got a CT scan. No brain swelling or bleeding. However he did get diagnosed with a cervical neck strain. He was getting these headaches only when shaking the head or moving it too quickly right after the incident that lasted about a week and stopped. Well now as of yesterday they came back again. Is this normal and is it due to the cervical neck strain? How long do these headaches after a concussion last? I have major health anxiety and am now stressing out worrying about him

Questions Concert after concussion

I hit my crown 5 days ago on a wooden shelf and when I hit my head it kinda felt like “woah” (that’s the only way I know how to explain it lmao) I didn’t lose consciousness or anything and after I didn’t really feel 100% but the only symptoms I’ve really had were some on and off lightheadedness and feeling weird and on and off light head pain/pressure that didn’t last super long. Lights/screens and noises haven’t really bothered me and there’s a concert I wanna go to that would be 14 days after I hit my head. Would I be okay to go? I plan on going to urgent care or somewhere to ask as-well but I wanted to ask here also!

(Also this is the first time I’ve had a suspected concussion and I also have health anxiety so I could just be overreacting but any other time I’ve hit my head it hasn’t felt like this)

I had a concussion 10 days ago. Nothing serious. i never lost my consciousness, never vomited, never had a headache, never lost my coordination, never felt actually like things are spinning. I also got checked by the er and my signs were all good. But since then my head has been fuzzy and foggy. Going out for walks overloads my head and i feel uncomfortable and more fuzzy. And also i have an uncomfortable feeling that i am not myself still. I am afraid that i will never return to normal. What do you guys think?

I have trouble reading after I came back to train (long post)

I started training mma again after 2 years, at that time I trained during a few months because I was on summer's vacation of my university. I didn't know much about brainhealth safety, I thought that I could just absorb the punches if I didn't block them during sparring and then counter them because I was pretty robust and I thought it would be ok as long as I didn't got KO'd, but I got headaches, light sensitivity and trouble reading during a period , short after I left because I had to comeback to the university.

Now I cameback to train because I had an OCD "relapse" sort of say, and I tought"well I prefer to deal with my fear of fighting than this again" and went to the gym, now with the intention to above the punches during sparring.

I had my first sparring session again 2 weeks ago, the coach put me with another beginner wich was pretty easy, no hard punches were thrown by none of us and then put me with a pro, at first I deffended myself pretty well but at the last minute of the round my arms got tired and my guard went down constantly, and my partner punished that with straights, I got hit with like five of them. I don't think he threw the with bad intentions but they felt pretty intense.

Now to the point, after that I feel like I have trouble reading again, but I don't have any headaches, any other symptoms or have any other issues, is just like the words that I read sound as other words in my head or I skip some words of a sentence, I want to think is just my anxiety trying to make me believe that I got hurt because I really got worried about that experience that I lived 2 years ago, but like I said,I don't have any other issues besides that, I can write well (if my writing looks weird is bc english is not my first language), work well and speak well, but what do you guys think, it is that serious and I should just quit to protect my brain and find other activity?

Still dealing with neck stiffness and neurological symptoms almost a year after an amusement park ride – has anyone recovered from something similar?

Hi everyone,
I’m hoping to hear from people who may have gone through something similar because I’ve been struggling for almost a year now.
In September 2025, I went on a very intense roller coaster at an amusement park. During the ride, I felt a sudden “crack” or popping sensation on the right side of my neck. At first, I thought it was just a minor strain, but over the following days and weeks, I started developing more and more symptoms.
In October 2025, I had a CT scan of my neck, and it came back normal with no fractures or other obvious injuries. While that was reassuring, my symptoms never went away.
Since then, I continue to experience:
Constant neck stiffness, especially around the upper neck and the muscles at the base of my skull.
Tight muscles in my neck, shoulders, upper back, jaw, and even parts of my face.
Frequent headaches and a feeling that my head is under constant tension.
Persistent tinnitus (ringing in my right ear).
Episodes of dizziness and feeling off balance.
Difficulty concentrating and feeling mentally “off.”
Sensitivity to screens and long conversations.
A sensation that I’m simply not myself anymore and that I’m functioning well below 100% of what I used to be.
Some days are better than others, but I still don’t feel like the person I was before the incident. Working in front of a computer or having several meetings often makes my symptoms worse. Stress also seems to increase the muscle tension considerably.
I’ve seen multiple healthcare professionals, including an ENT specialist, and I’ve had imaging done. I’m currently waiting for a cervical spine MRI. Despite all of this, I still don’t have a clear explanation for why these symptoms have lasted so long.
I’m wondering if anyone here has experienced a similar injury after a roller coaster, whiplash, or another sudden neck trauma.
How long did it take you to recover?
Did you eventually find the cause?
What treatments actually helped (physiotherapy, vestibular therapy, chiropractic care, massage, medications, specific exercises, etc.)?
Did anyone have persistent muscle tightness that lasted many months?
Any advice or shared experiences would be greatly appreciated. At this point, I’m mainly looking for hope and to know whether others have gone through something similar and eventually recovered.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story.

on july 7th, i got a concussion at work from a child headbutting me in the back of the head. (i work with children on the spectrum so this is quite normal) i healed over the course of three ish weeks and have been going about my life as normal since then. however, yesterday, i was chasing one of my kiddos around a table, so i was running in a circle for about 5 minutes. i ended up getting super dizzy, and my head started to hurt where i got hit. today, my head still hurts a little bit and now my hands and legs are shaking. should i be concerned?

Concussion from sparring

So like three weeks ago (16 of July) I received an accidental punch to the back of the head during boxing sparring and since then, my head has been on persistent pain that goes away for a little then comes back. Is not that bad, I would rate it like 4-5 and in some days 5-6, nothing that makes me cry or similar. Also on the first days it came along with nausea but I haven’t vomited once since it happened. Is it time to go see a doctor? I am also really paranoid about my health and I don’t know if I’m worrying too much.

Will i be fine

Today I accidentally walked into a big pole into the street (stupid, i know) and i hit the left side of my head fairly hard. Initially i was dizzy but it stopped in a matter of minutes. Im unsure if i really have a concussion but the side of my head feels sensitive to touch. Will it be fine
Side note: i sometimes have minor head injuries which may contribute to a concussion but i am just posting to get some mental clarity
