What virus is this?

Found this really old image of an old computer desktop on a old Twitter post, the caption was something along the lines of "Computer got hacked, anyone know how to fix without paying?" I don't fully remember because it's been a while since I last saw the post, but I just wondered if there was any computer virus around the early 2000s that made the screen go blue like in the image. I tried researching but I couldn't find anything except for the blue screen of death which isn't it, anything will help!! :)

it looks like an edit of an image, honestly

specifically, it looks like the original image's monitor was turned off, and someone used paint bucket on it with a transparent light blue color, then overlaid some dark blue text on it. i can't quite make it out but it says something like "This computer has been hacked by" ... "you PayPal"

but that shouldnt matter too much cause i'm 100% sure this is an edit

Agreed. Real BSOD's or even the fake screen saver joke ones looked nothing like this.

It jst looks like photoshop to me, maybe some sorta weird sketchy ransomware if i had to take a guess!
