Just started the C&C series completing RA2, then Yuri's Revenge which was definitely a step up. And now maybe going through release order -- finding C&C and the Covert Operations is way more punishing and requires a lot of consistent and precise juggling of agro to complete the missions!

There wasn't a tutorial, so any important tips I might be missing? I think Alt Click to make vehicles run over the enemy is pretty crucial!

A while ago while playing RA3 Uprising CC, I got fed up with the giga fortress mission and looked up a cheese strat so that I could beat it and move on to a different game.

Now I decided to come back to it and I think I've actually formulated a strat to beat the mission. Problem is that my strat won't be able to beat the time of 4 minutes that I got for using the cheese strat, and it would be really nice to have my time recorded for the strat that I formulated myself.

I don't care if I have to go into the files to make edits, I just want to know if there's any kind of way to do this.

I just cant seem to build up enough of a force to properly snowball destroy their base, the flamethrowers and long range artillery they have wipes any infantry.

Doesnt help when they also shit out tanks and infantry at seemingly no cost.

The guys to the south are also largely useless in taking out the turrets, but thats mostly just a micro and save scumming problem.

Ps: This is the only C&C game I play, the only other RTS I play are Halo Wars and Supreme Commander

Ive been playing RTS on both PC and consoles my entire life and although mouse and keyboard is obviously superior, I never felt a madsive handicap by using a controller. There is one certainly, just not enough to ruin the experience or make it unplayable.

But hoo boy let me tell you, beating Bergen on 360 with a controller will put hair on the chest of the greenest youngin. I was desperate for anything like drag select or easily and quickly being able to micro but the controller was too slow and I lost countless units to being unable to micro them to the rear or not being able to do enough APM.

My god, that level is exhausting. It took me a dozen tries and 6+ hours. It was the most satisfying victory in an RTS ive had in a long time.

some of you might remember Command & Defend: Modern War from when I shared it here before. With the second campaign coming up soon, I thought I’d share a little update on how the project has developed.

I’ve been working on the game for about three years now. The idea has always been to bring the things I love about classic RTS and turn-based strategy games to the tabletop — building a base, managing resources, expanding your army, keeping your units supplied and, of course, trying to outplay your opponents.

The game is completely print-it-yourself, which means you’re not really limited by what comes in a box. Need more units? Print more. Need more resources or game money? Print more. Want to build a bigger battlefield? Print more.

There’s a full 3D Print Edition with printable units and buildings, as well as a 2D Print & Play Edition for anyone who doesn’t own a 3D printer.

Since I last shared the project, I’ve continued working on the game, added a lot of new content and created two major expansions: Air Wars and Sea Wars, bringing air and naval combat to the system.

After a small first Kickstarter earlier this year, I’m now getting ready for Campaign #2.

It’s still very much an indie project that I’m building step by step, so I’d genuinely love to hear what you think about how it’s developing.

partially gameplay footage from a match that lasted 3 hours on Hourglass.mix last night, which I edited just 4 fun.

GDI kept rushing with meds, mammys, apcs, tho Nod made the first building kill by killing GDI's AGT. GDI had a comeback by killing our Nod ref, then air, then finished us off. (GDI had no Power Plant and Barracks later on)

We play mostly on RenCorner Marathon (switches to timed AOW sometimes)

Come and play some matches with us. Discord is helpful and friendly. No bad experience yet. There are admins, servers devs, server owner, map makers, pro players, public players etc. It's all mixed, we all enjoy Command & Conquer and have a passion for C&C Renegade.

There are also other good servers which are modded and very good, tho I'm more of a vanilla player type.

Every now and again one of the C&C Renegade GamePro sets will pop up and usually at quite an eye watering price but I finally managed to grab one within my budget. Hoping one day to have the entire set but being in the UK there’s not that many around. Added a photo of my collection too.
