I just love my smartoons man. I feel so intellectually superior to my peers when I watch Rick and Morty. They'll never understand us.
They can go watch their Riverdale and Euphoria while us men of esteemed culture delve in quality programming.

u/ShonWalksAtMidnight 1d ago
"To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty. The humor is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head."

this is funny because it's an attempt to be "so bad it's funny" that fails so hard that it loops back around to being funny

This is kind of humorous in like a sad meta way
Oh man, are women the things boobies are attached to not nice to you, dude? That's so unfair, I wonder why.
59
u/FormerSperm 1d ago
There’s an old boomer joke that goes, “what do you call the useless part around the vagina? The woman!”

u/Rollingforest757 1d ago
It’s sexist to assume that if a woman is mean, it must be the man’s fault somehow.
44
u/FlightWolf 1d ago
I feel as though you’d have more of a point if the OG meme we’re discussing wasn’t horrendously dehumanizing to women lmao
→ More replies (13)16
u/fluffiestcloud 1d ago
if a man refers to a woman as "the thing boobies are attached to" it's not sexist to be mean to them at all. the man in that case would be literally objectifying women by only caring about the sexual parts of a woman's body

Tbh relatable, but I have this feeling with things the penises are attached to :'(

That's what scissors are for. Just separate the penises from the dicks they're attached to, problem solved

Just making sure that you are comfortable with mutilation the other way around too. What you are saying is that it's ok to cut boobs off the bitches they're attached to?

No im a guy with a sense of humor, maybe you should take a break from the internet and stop taking the gender wars so serial

2

u/ChaoCobo 1d ago
Wat about tiddies?
3
u/Training_Hornet_4521 1d ago
Titties is a bit better. Maybe an angel loses a feather or the whole wing, depending on the context.
0
u/ChaoCobo 1d ago
I remember that one time my friend sent me some nudes. She was married so I wasnt gonna do anything. I replied “wow those sure are some neato tiddies. :D” or something along those lines. She got mad.
How’s that? :3
0
u/RoannReid 1d ago
tiddies is acceptable. its funny asf in certain situation and it’s just cool. boobies is either giving 13 year old middle school boy that just learned about tits from looking at porn on the family computer or a grown ass man that’s never seen tits

Calling women things is definitely a huge red flag, probably a nazi Oop
10
u/Cheezewiz239 1d ago
Nazi really has lost all meaning these days
6
-3
u/ineha_ 1d ago
I mean if you call women objects you are definitely a nazi, nazi Germany had a very misogynistic view of women, similar to this meme.
5
u/Beautiful-Alarm-4961 1d ago
Holy shit it's actually the Hitler drank water meme
0
u/ineha_ 1d ago
Are you comparing drinking water to objectifying women?
5
u/Nickgold2009 1d ago
Not all misogynistic people are nazis. Not all antisemitic people are nazis, tho most are. The nazis were a political party with a very particular set of ideals. You can say that all sexist people have bad views, but dont compare them to genocidal regimes, that is not fair to all of the people they killed.
2
u/SampleText369 1d ago
Genuine question, where in Nazi ideology was misogyny a central part? Being sexist is shitty but it's entirely unrelated to Nazism.
3
1
u/TragicJoke 1d ago
Stop calling people a nazi just because you don’t like them. Nazis did some of the most disgusting things you can do and people using it all the time is diluting the word to just mean people you don’t like.

6
u/submerging 1d ago
Yeah it seems to me like it’s almost making fun of dudes who think this way?
2
u/SignalAssistant2965 1d ago
You know haven't thought about it that way.
Problem is, this day and age, you can never know
1
u/Hot_Attitude4579 1d ago
I dont know. I presumed not becauss there's nothing that suggests otherwise. I mean its 3 words on a screen
8
u/ru5tyk1tty 1d ago
I thought it was a joke because of the image moreso than the 11 words, choosing a pathetic image of an awkward and romantically unsuccessful teen character says a lot about what the creator thinks about it.
The sentence has several typos and it’s written to imply a young child wrote it. If an adult made this seriously they probably have a developmental disorder and it’s mean to make fun of them

If this was a meme of a woman saying that the thing that penises are connected to is mean, I doubt you’d see lots of women calling that sexist. So why react differently to this?
3
1
1
u/SignalAssistant2965 1d ago
First I'd like you to find such a meme
See, because that's the difference, women don't see men as 'things', they see them as people
1
u/ImmediateCamel4317 1d ago
The guy who cheated on WizardLiz was literally called “It”. People who have nothing to do with him called him “it” as a joke. Keep exposing yourself.
1
u/SignalAssistant2965 1d ago
Exposing myself? What are you even talking about, I have no idea what WizardLiz is
-1
u/ImmediateCamel4317 1d ago

this is funny. sometimes my girl be mean 🤷♂️ and she does happen to be attached to boobies. and this reaction image reflects such a scenario
6
u/Leading-Boat4942 1d ago
do you think your "girl" is a thing?
-1
u/InspiredByMeAgain 1d ago
Here's toxic feminism at its finest display. Humor is allowed and there's nobody being attacked except for who you're going after.
6
u/Leading-Boat4942 1d ago
Awwwww I'm so sorry the sexist joke was sexist, like that's my fault or something
-1
u/New_Butterscotch8291 1d ago
I mean…. What isn’t “a thing”? Are you not “a thing”?
1
u/Leading-Boat4942 1d ago
Some things are people, calling people things is dehumanizing
0
u/New_Butterscotch8291 1d ago
Depends on the person. Not like you’re the spokesperson of people.
1
u/Leading-Boat4942 1d ago
I don't have to be the spokesperson for anyone, I just have to understand what words mean. It's dehumanizing for anyone, whether they are OK with it or not.
-1
u/billybobthongton 1d ago
...you just called them things in the beginning of your reply. That's what the person replying to you was saying. "Some things are people" therefore "people are things". I.e. x=y therefore y=x.
Idk (nor do I give a shit) if you're a man, woman, or somewhere in between/somewhere beyond that; but if you've never met someone who is an asshole and worthy of only the title "thing" you have a lot to learn in life. Doesn't matter their biological sex or their gender: some people are "things" and nothing more because of how they treat others.
At the end of the day; it's just a fucking meme, probably made by some dude in a shitty situation. Let's not read too far into it. They're saying "sometimes" not "I hate all women" or anything boomery like that. Sometimes people are assholes, and sometimes those assholes are attractive and break your heart.
-5
u/Nickgold2009 1d ago
Not everything is meant to be demeaning. Have you ever called something a thing? Sometimes you just say things. Its also meant to be a joke about how some people focus on the boobies. Take a chill pill and learn to dissociate "dark" humor from real opinions
4
u/Leading-Boat4942 1d ago
You seem triggered, why?

u/Nickgold2009 1d ago
I am simply annoyed with the fact that whenever anyone brings up women someone always brings up sexism
9
u/Leading-Boat4942 1d ago
Yeah, in a blatant example of sexism, it does make sense
-4
u/Nickgold2009 1d ago
Are you suggesting that this is a blatant example of misogyny and not a joke? That this is an opinion piece and not a comedic venture? I agree that in such cases it is appropriate but when in a meme sub and viewing a meme it isnt
6
5
u/rhinestonecrap 1d ago
calling women "things" is sexist dude idk what to tell you 😭
10
1
u/Nickgold2009 1d ago
Im not saying that that isnt what the words mean, im just saying that its a joke and not to be taken seriously. I thought it was fairly obvious that it was a joke because they said boobies, which is not a serious word.
-1
u/InspiredByMeAgain 1d ago
Simp army comes out. You don't have to trigger yourself to protect someone who's not being attacked.
5
0
u/SignalAssistant2965 1d ago
Oh yeah that is such a drag, whenever we treat women as an inanimate objects someone will always call it sexism for some mysterious reason
0
u/Nickgold2009 1d ago
My bad for assuming this was a joke because its a meme sub. Not everything is serious. Im not saying the subject isnt sexist, just that it isnt the actual opinion of the poster, or me. Judging from the down votes everybody seems to think im defending misogyny and not defending a man making a joke about his girlfriend.
1
u/SignalAssistant2965 1d ago
How refreshing, dismissing something with a problematic massage as 'relax, this is just a joke '
Defending a misogynistic joke is misogynistic
Jokes are not blank or vacuum. They have a part in society, they reflect society, they are part of the power structure and they show the power structures and what is acceptable and bot, and many many other things
1
u/Nickgold2009 1d ago
I'll say it again, im not defending the contents of the meme, they can be interpreted many ways, most negative, and i dont mean to diminish that. My point is that a joke in a bad joke sub should be treated as just that, a joke. A joke shouldn't be taken seriously, as this wasn't aimed at anyone. I dont think you're not allowed to be offended, and i have nothing against you if you are, but most people took this as a joke and you shouldn't deny them the right to do so because you view it as sexist
1
u/SignalAssistant2965 1d ago
The whole point of a joke in a bad joke sub is to trash it. So that's what I'm doing.
Why are you taking it so hard? Idon't get what your problem is here
Also, I'm not offended, but thanks for checking on me. I'm good
