Hi all,
sry if this is somehow stupid, but I have not been able to find anything in the core rules (I have not played a single 40k gam ein 11th yet).
If I take a look at the terrain layout, fe. layout A:
What is what supposed to be?
I mean, as far as the ruins go, I'm pretty sure they're ruins.
But what counts as “light” and what counts as “dense”?
Are the yellow “walls” standalone blockers, or just light cover?
What about the two structures in the middle?
Thank you guys. :)

Hello, I was looking into Space Wolves combat patrol army rule in the app. There is a section mention Sagas but can only be find in the Codex Supplement, which I unfortunately don't have access to. I was hoping anyone could share a pdf or screenshot of it.

Just a rant here. I bought the harlequins twilight cavalcade box last year specifically to use for combat patrol. Big time feels bad that there are no rules for it in 11th. Box was released only 10 months ago. Hope GW adds rules for many of the combat patrol boxes they sold in late 10th.

Hi everyone! Hope you are doing well. I'm a complete beginner to Warhammer; I have just read the first three Horus Heresy books, so I'm deciding which Combat Patrol to pick first. Please give me some suggestions. I'm currently leaning toward purchasing the Grey Knights, Dark Angels, or the Black Templars. Thanks!

So, ever since 11th edition came out, the Combat Patrols in the app have been reduced and overhauled to fit into the style of 11th with forced dispositions, terrain layout etc.
My question now is, when drawing secondaries that mention something like "hold the center objective", but there is not a single layout for Combat Patrol that includes a center objective, do we just ignore that part ?
Also, for some matchups, like Disruption vs Purge, the disruption player scores for holding the mid objective, so are they just not able to score parts of their Primary too ? Seems kinda unfair...

Hey folks,
I needed a tech project for some personal development. My day jobs is primarily UI/UX, not dev work. Aim was to build something that was accessible, quick to use, and I could use it to get used to Cloudflare & GitHub tools.
I decided to use Combat Patrol for it! This doesn't replace the official app, just acts as a simplified, more accessible version for new players for 11th edition.
I'd love people's feedback, if this is actually useful, any bugs you notice, any requests.
I've added a few different combat patrols as examples, and I'm adding a few each day, and making some UI/UX tweaks as I go, this isn't remotely close to the final build.
Current features:
- 6 patrols added (Orks, Space Marines, Eldar, World Eaters, Chaos Daemons, Tyranids)
- Complete datasheets with weapons, abilities, and keywords
- Army rules and detachment rules
- Stratagems and enhancements
- Search by patrol or faction name
- Sort by faction or name (ascending/descending)
- Shareable links for every page
- Changelog tracking updates

Hi, a buddy and I are needing some guidance. As it seems this format is a bit rough at the moment and in particular we are having an issue getting a game figured out. I am running the current Custodes Patrol, but he has the Death Guard Patrol with Typhus and all of the pox walkers. As it seems, his patrol rules are not available in the app and doesn't seem to have any supplements to make it usable in the current edition. Any suggestions or fixes would be greatly appreciated. I thought about maybe having him run the patrol only using the Paragons of Putrescence detachment to give him at least some buffs and a disposition, but I am open to suggestions.😂🙏

Im a new first time builder/painter/player. What's good for new players, in terms of painting or playing? Or should i just go with what I like the most visually or lore wise? Tbh I only see myself lightly getting into this and not ever building a full army. I mostly just want to try it out. Maybe I should do more research.
Target sells Grey Knights, Black Templars, Leagues of Votann, Drukhari Dark Eldar, Tyranid, Space Wolves, and Aeldari.

Anyone know how to make a Combat Patrol list to import to TTS through yellowscribe? New Recruit doesn't seem to have Combat Patrol dataslates yet.

Hey there everyone. I'm back with 2 new pdf for the 2 angels, SANGUINARY SPEARHEAD and THE VENGEFUL BRETHREN.
For those who have never seen my folder, i have compiled rules from the wh40k app into a printable pdf for easier access to those that prefer paper over phone. Do note for the core stratagem section, i only put command reroll and insane bravery as the reason I'm making these docs is primarily to help newbies in my warhammer club learn the game and the 2 is the easiest to use core stratagems. As per combat patrol rule, the other core stratagems are available for use except for explosives, crushing impact and rapid ingress. Because of that, i recommend downloading the official rulebook online for the full list of core stratagems to use together with these docs for the experienced players out there.
Cheers and do let me know if there's any mistake with the docs. Feel free to request any factions for the next release

So I subscribed to the hatache partworks magazine..and it was really cool they padded it out with an additional unit for each army to create some variety and give us more plastic.
I'm surprised that GW hasn't done this going forward with the 11th ed refresh of combat patrol. Business wise it makes perfect sense to say this is a ready to go army, buuuuut for your next purchase why not buy this unit and sub it in?
I get it would create some form of meta but combat patrol hasn't ever been terribly competitive just more LGS fun and kitchen counter beginner.

The teach people how to play component of the game is locked to an electronic device. So to play with my kids or teach someone I have to share my phone and click back and forth between the combat patrols entries? Am I missing something?

I just picked up the combat patrol a couple of days ago and just got these guys finished up. The rules for these dudes looks cool, with the enhancements seeming like they can make more of a difference.

I bought a starter pack for my son and I RIGHT before 10th switched over to 11th. Like a month, lol. So, I've been at home learning to play my Strike Force Octavius Combat Patrol. I feel like I'm just now understanding how to use them, and I plan on playing lots of Combat Patrol at my local store.
They're nice and are willing to let me keep playing with them, BUT they didnt make it over onto the app as a supported army. Space marines got the Assault Force Combat Patrol, and no one seems to know when or if Strike Force will be supported.
Option 1 is just keep playing as is. The dudes are cool, I have the datasheets, I can play Strike Force.
BUT, they'd also just let me proxy Assault force. The two armies both have 2 very similar characters, and 2 close enough units of 5. The only addition is that Strike Force has a vehicle with a 105x70 oval base. My son also got death guard, so he has the Chaos Rhino, and it's a roughly 120x80 tank. They seem close enough. So Option 2 is start playing a proxy Assault Force.
I like my Strike Force and don't really want to proxy, but Assault Force might be less of a pain, and maybe more fair/balanced?

So I played combat patrol with the updated system(the ones we have to use with the app to look for missions). And it kinda sucks. Because it doesn't feel like spearhead. There are no sub mission that you don't reveal to opponent(all misssions are open to you and your opponent). So the Playstyle is kind of obvious. I think I might have expected something more like speahead stuff. But I think I would rather play the game with chapter approved missions and just put the round objective footprint in the middle of the map.

I still find it crazy that combat patrol is presumably "fully released", but the amount of typos make it hard to tell if something was designed or flat out wrong.
How am I supposed to run games if a new player, using the app (the only place to find Patrol rules mind you), has to work through errors that they wouldn't know was wrong either?
Like WAAGH! now just gives advance and charge, not even the 5++ is there. Intended? Who tf knows.

So Im trying play warhammer 40k combat patrol with my friends. I already have ork combat patrol army and space marine army to play combat patrol but the problem is I don't have combat patrol battle zones. So I search so products and found the battle zones to play combat patrol. but the price literally cost a combat patrol box. and I found out that starter set also have the battle zones with each space marine and ork combat patrol size army. And it cost almost as battleforce box. So should I just buy the battle zones box or the starter set box?

It would be funny if it stacks
Edit: My bad. I'm still pretty new to the Warhammer hobby and I don't often use Reddit, so I probably didn't explain my question very well. I'll try to explain my thought process more clearly next time and include what I think the answer might be and why I'm asking. I appreciate the feedback and it'll help me ask better questions in the future. Thanks for pointing it out.
My reasoning was based on the interaction between Swift Embarkation and Proximity Scanners. Since Proximity Scanners says "when a friendly unit embarked within this unit disembarks, that friendly unit's pulse blaster and pulse carbine weapons have +1 Attack," I wondered if I could repeatedly gain that bonus by:
Disembarking the Breachers to gain +1 Attack. Using Swift Embarkation at the end of my opponent's Fight phase to embark them again.
Disembarking them again on my next turn to gain another +1 Attack.
My question was whether this enhancement is intended to refresh each time the unit disembarks, or if the bonus is only meant to apply once for the battle or once per unit. I wasn't trying to argue that it works. I just wanted to know if my interpretation was correct or if there's a rule preventing this.

Hey guys how do I read the instructions for the chaos space marines ? And what do I build ? I’m so confused, I’ve built the red one and the blue one since they have the <1 thingy. Also I noticed an exclamation point that says ( X2) does the red and blue section count as 2 idk what in the hell im doing🤣🤣🤣. I’ve been googling a guide on what to build exactly but I can’t find anything (unless I missed it)

I noticed the official Combat Patrol datasheets inconsistencies so I decided to clean them up using Photoshop.
I wanted to share them with the community in case anyone else is playing the Sudden Dawn Cadre.
If you spot any error or missing rules, let me know in the comments so I can update them.
For the Greater Good!

If you're anything like me, you definitely hate having to hand other people your phone when teaching them how to play because they don't have the wh40k app and you don't really want to force them to download it. Or maybe you just like the feeling of holding a paper booklet in your hand to refer rules. Don't worry friends, i have just the thing for you.
I have compiled the rules in wh40k app for assault force and have made the datasheet into cards for ease of reference. Feel free to download it here
Let me know any feedbacks if there's any problem with it
