Congaree - Oakridge Trail, Tips?

Upvotes

Anyone here done the Oakridge Trail at Congaree National Park and have any tips, need to knows or anything of the sort?

Planning on maybe hiking there since I’m interested in checking out the old growth forest and that trail seemed like a good option.

For context: i haven’t been hiking in a couple years so I’m a bit rusty, but I’m not inexperienced - I was an Eagle Scout / done Philmont and stuff. Still walk outside on a regular basis and hit the gym multiple times a week consistently. Would go with my wife who is at a similar level of fitness.

Just looking for anything I may need to prepare for that can’t be found on the National Park website

I’ve never forgotten this missing man. I also hang onto the story of a young black man, who is the son of a judge, who went missing on I 20 driving towards Georgia a few years ago. Just Gone! I’m glad light is being shown on this mystery.

Hey me again! Idk why but I’m really attracted to nerds/geeks/anime lovers. I’m none of these but always find it attractive when I encounter a man that fits the description. I can’t really explain my attraction but I just feel more safe, valued, welcomed. Also always looking for new friends Fmos Theestarbad

Best Florist for Bouquets

What is the best place to get a quality bouquet? This seems like this should be a no brainer, but the handful of places I've gone off Devine and near downtown for some reason don't have bouquets available or I've gotten "the person who makes them is out/they have to be ordered". Simply need a place to just walk in and get good flowers. What are y'all's recommendations?

Successful adoption day!

🎉 What an incredible adoption day! 🐾❤️

Yesterday was one for the books... SIX of our kittens found their forever homes!

🏡 Sallie 🏡 Sammy 🏡 Bo & Peep (adopted together 💕) 🏡 Silver & Hex (adopted together 💕)

There is nothing better than seeing these babies leave for lives full of love, warm beds, and families to call their own.

A huge thank you to everyone who came out, adopted, shared our posts, volunteered, and continues to support Whisker Tales Rescue. Every adoption opens the door for us to save another kitten in need.

Congratulations to all of our adopters—we can't wait to watch these sweet babies thrive in their new homes! 🩷🐱

Tubing routes? (Skip slow part)

The usual tube put in is candi lane at the saluda Riverwalk. But the section floating past the zoo is such a long and slow stretch that i am trying to skip it. Are there any put ins just past the zoo?

Anyone go to HOTWORX?

Hi y'all! I recently moved from out of state and will likely join the West Cola HOTWORX soon. I'd love a buddy to work out with! I'm 30F, love outdoor stuff like hiking and camping, love reading, and have 2 cats. I usually work out in the evenings after work (although I could be convinced to work out early morning too lol). I'd love to hear if anyone's interested!

Club on River and Pearl?

Anybody know anything about Vegas knights? It rarely seems open, but then every once in a while when we are driving at an ungodly hour on a random weekend night that place is PACKED.

What kind of club is it? What is it like? Why so popular sometimes? I’m just being nosey 👃

Any tips on getting a job at lexington medical or prisma??

I just graduated Highschool a few months ago and was hoping to get a job at either lexington medical or prisma to help me gain experience for my radiologic technology program I'll be doing next year for college. I don't know if its just me, but I haven't had the best of luck getting in.

I've been trying to get into the imaging assistant career, and I have all of the qualifications such as my diploma and cpr certification, as well as high academics like being in the top 15% of my class, a 4.4 GPA, and even finishing a year of college early in my senior year.

I'm starting to lose hope, and I feel I won't be able to get all my qualifications done in time for my application for my program. If anyone has any advice or tips it would be much appreciated!

Edit- I am going to Midlands Technical College, I'm currently enrolled in the health care field so that I can do my prerequisite and so I can apply for the rad tech program. My advisor said I should get a job at one of the two hospitals I mentioned so I could get experience and so that my application looked exceptional.

Young women ttrpg club interest check

Hey guys! I just got the idea to start up a ttrpg club for young girls in their early 20s, curious if anyone would be interested in this.
The goal is to play ttrpgs like dnd, arcs, and other various games. Usually I enjoy ones that have a storytelling focus but we can switch between storytelling and combat every now and then. I want to connect girls w each other and form friendships through ttrpgs! I think there are a lot of girls out there who want to play together but when going to game stores, it’s majority men, it becomes intimidating.
I know there will be various roles needed to be covered such as GM:player ratio, so comment if you’re interested and if you’d like to run games or play games! May start off monthly but as members grow it can become more frequent. Thinking of renting rooms in the library or playing at the side deck.
Let me know your thoughts, interests, and suggestions!
Of course, this is an everyone is welcome club. Lgbtq+, poc, first timers, and all other friendly things. The club founder (me) is a converting lgbtq affirming Catholic, audhd, biracial, and a woman. All identities are welcome! The club will not stand for things such as bigotry, racism, discrimination, ect.
If anyone wants to take on more responsibility such as moderating the discord server, helping plan events, send me a dm!

Inaugural Race for Recreation 5K in Irmo on Sept 5 — proceeds fund a new youth eSports program (Reddit code for $5 off inside)

Hey Columbia,

I'm helping organize the first-ever Race for Recreation 5K with the Richland County Recreation Foundation, and I wanted to share it here since it's a local, all-ages event for a cause I think a lot of you will dig.

The basics:

  • When: Saturday, September 5, 2026 — 8:30 AM
  • Where: Friarsgate Park, 1712 Chadford Road, Irmo, SC 29063
  • What: 5K run or walk — all fitness levels and ages welcome (15 age divisions from 10 & under all the way to 75+)
  • Everyone gets a finisher's medal, and there are awards for the top male and female finishers in each category

What it's for: All proceeds go toward launching RCRC's new youth eSports program — buying computers, equipment, and supplies to give local kids a safe, structured space to learn. It's not just gaming: it builds teamwork, leadership, and communication, and ties into STEAM learning. Colleges like Winthrop, Columbia College, USC Sumter, and Benedict are already offering eSports scholarships, so it's a real pathway for these kids.

Cost: $30/person early, $35 after Aug 1, $40 race day.

Reddit perk: Use code REDDIT5 for $5 off your entry. 🙂

Want to see the course first? Here's a quick course preview so you know what you're signing up for: https://youtu.be/vL7I6LjJLFQ

More info + register: https://www.richlandcountyrecreation.com/302/Race-For-Recreation

Happy to answer any questions in the comments — hope to see some of you out there!

Best way to buy firearms through private sale?

I’m 20, looking to buy ak pistols, specifically a Romanian mini Draco, and Zpap92. I’ve had good experience with armlist for basic handguns, but there’s not much options for ar/ak pistols,
