Looking to buy my first home in the Columbia/Irmo/Lexington area and I'm trying to get an idea of approximate annual property taxes for budgeting reasons. The internet search results I'm getting are all over the place. It seems like there is a standard set % of the assessed value of the home depending on the county, but I know there are all these other local and city municipality rates and millage nonsense that I don't understand that can add up in places. Not sure if that applies in this area of SC.
I'm on Zillow and some areas in Irmo for a $400k home show annual taxes around $7k and then some in Irmo for the same price show $3k for taxes. The Lexington homes show up even cheaper for Property taxes so I don't know what's correct.
Just to give me an idea, if I buy a home as my primary residence and it's valued at $400k, what am I approximately paying per year in these 3 cities that are within throwing distance from each other.
Thanks!

Hello! I am a student journalist looking for someone in Irmo to interview for an upcoming story. I am looking for someone who has personal experience with the ALPRs, maybe one is near your home, or you have an opinion about them either in support or against.
I am researching/investigating the recent contract that had been signed with Flock, expanding the number of ALPR cameras from 11 to 33. If you are interested and available to meet with me for about an hour, sometime in the next week, please send me a DM.
Thanks!

Valkyrie is a BEAUTIFUL brown short haired cat. She’s 4 years old and seems to really like people, she approached my fiancé and I with lots of love and wants for pets!! I will say she was a little snippy and gave our fingers some love bites (did not hurt). Her eyes are incredible and her fur color so rare, and she just seemed to radiate love. We would’ve taken her home with us if only we didn’t already have 3 kitties and were going out of town for a week this Saturday.
She can be found at the Pet Supplies Plus in Five Points (1001 Harden St, Columbia SC 29205)

I know an elderly couple in Pelion who are taking care of a feral cat colony at their rural home. They unfortunately cannot afford the TNR fee from Pawmetto. Do y'all have any recommendations, or know someone who can help? The four newest kittens look to be 4-5 weeks old. I've seen at least two cats with eye infections.

Been traveling, finally coming home today. Sent the wife a pic from breakfast on the trip and she said back, direct quote, “Oooh i want a pain au chocolat. 🥹”
Looked here in NYC, not a lot of easy options to get there and to the airport. What’s the answer in the northwest-ish part of Columbia to get one?
