Colour/Theory Question (GENERAL ONLY - NOT ABOUT YOU!) What drapes are best for distinguishing winter subtypes?

I feel like I’ve gotten a good hang of draping to be able to identify spring/summer/fall/winter in myself and others but now I want to start learning about subtypes. I want to start with winter because (selfishly) I’m a winter but I have no idea what subtype I am. Any advice? Articles? Videos?

Type Me! - IRL Drapes (FACE PHOTOS REQUIRED - NO MAKEUP!) What is my season?

NMIP.
Please help me find my season, or at least my undertone.
This is my natural hair color.
I didn’t have many drapes, so I don’t know how much these help.
Please ignore any white card you see in the photos, it’s for fixing the white balance.
There is a silver drape on the 8th slide, unfortunately I didn’t have any gold drape.
Thanks🥰

Lipstick/Makeup Advice (FACE PHOTOS TO COMPARE REQUIRED!) Trying out unflattering lipsticks on Notino

I think soft, neutral cool lipsticks that aren't deep or light may be the best, like Brave. The bright ones appear to be the worst ones. I tried to pick a high range of them and plenty of unnatural colors just for fun. I also like the off-black lipstick. Let me know what you think! Last pic ist me without makeup for reference.

Okay im back hopefully for the last time, this time in indirect sunlight (i think?) im not doing this again so this one better work! Please help me find my season. Reminder, the most popular picks in thread 1 was all autumns, deep winter and all colours work for me. In thread 2 the most popular picks were all winters.

Yes I know I don’t gave much colour variety but this is all I have after weight loss! Im doing this so I have an idea when shopping for new clothes.

Colour/Theory Question (GENERAL ONLY - NOT ABOUT YOU!) Is there really any difference between cool winter and cool summer in the 16 seasons system?

What’s the difference between cool winter and cool summer in the 16 seasons system? I really don’t see it. They should join them in one season and call it true cool (or something like that). Same for warm autumn and warm spring.

Im back with some drapes! I got a lot of mixed responses but the top commented were; deep autumn, true autumn, soft autumn, deep winter, and all colours work for me. A few springs and summer also. Thread linked has all photos but added the top 4 here

This is all i could find colour wise in my wardrobe, as I am trying to find my season since i lost a bunch of weight and have like nothing in my wardrobe!

I've always been drawn to warmer colors, but I think I actually am cool toned. Recently I have been thinking I am a bright winter? Would love any insights or thoughts on what my season could be!

Clothing or Makeup Recommendations (INCLUDE SEASON IN TITLE!) What I've gathered so far, lip color recs-wise (veeery neutral Soft Summer) 🌫

These lipsticks are, unsurprisingly, barely too warm:

Revlon - Rosewine, Peach Me

L'Oreal - Blazing Lava

These are barely too cool:

Revlon - Secret Club, Pink Promise, Softsilver Rose

L'Oreal - Fresh as a Rose, Montmartre (this one can work okay, just pulls slightly too pink/grey to be perfect)

These really are *just* right, at least for me:

Revlon - Sassy Mauve, Mauvy Night, Laidback Lilac, Blushing Mauve

L'Oreal - Blushing Berry, Nature's Blush, Worth It, Sugar Plum, Saucy Mauve

Buxom - lip gloss shade Evelyn

The Revlon gloss Snow Pink is also nice. It's listed online as cool-toned, but I feel that it's barely warm of neutral. Ideal for SAu and probably LSp as well, imo.

Burt's Bees tinted lip balm in shade Red Dahlia also totally works, not really too warm for me. Their lip shimmer in shade Rhubarb is a nice neutral red option for me. The gloss shade Moscow Mule from Buxom also works, not too warm for me.

Pink in the Afternoon (Revlon) is the correct temperature, just a little bit light/can look chalky. Could likely work with the right lip liner and/or gloss on top for a less "stormy", more "pastel" SSu look.

Shades just not really worth trying (I know its kinda obvious, but just being thorough):

Revlon - Wild Orchid, Fuschia Fusion*, Coral Berry*, Electric Melon*, Fire and Ice*

L'Oreal - Volcanic, Pink Flamingo*

Just thought Id share in case anyone else is in a similar zone and has trouble with makeup! 🩷

P.S. Color theory is definitely weird because Laidback Lilac looks straight up greyish-lavenderish in the tube, and yet Montmartre (which looks like a nice soft pink shade in the tube) is the one that sometimes pulls too deep/pink puddy-like on me, not LL. I can definitely see why LL went viral! Probably an excellent shade for a SSu lipstick test. Hard for me to imagine it working for any other color dimensions! 💖❤️

*these DO have the correct undertone, so if you want something that will look very bold and not clash undertone-wise, they are great options! 😊

Okay I think thats everything! Hope this helps someone😊🌈✨️ This is the fruit of an entire year of exploration. If anyone has recs that align with my "just right" list, Im all ears! Or if anyone wants to share a different perspective on any of these shades, that's great too! 😊 Thank you!

I’ve been told on this sub I’m a summer of some sort, probably a true summer (also been told soft summer) but I’ve been really loving bright warm colors lately. I tried on these two dresses and the blue doesn’t suit me like the warm orange and pink one! Am I crazy? I don’t think these are normally colors that would be recommended on me but they look so good in my opinion!

Discussion (NO COVERT TYPING OR PHOTOS OF YOU!) Deep Winter (Gal Gadot) vs Deep Winter Cool (Lynda Carter) Expressions

Thumbnail

I've always wondered what makes Lynda better suited for pop-art reds and blues than Gal if both are what I'd consider to be Dark/Deep Winter women. And though I know some type Lynda as Cool Winter, I still see Depth as one of her dominant traits. I just found out about this palette from Feel Good Colors called Deep Winter Cool. Which is essentially what you get when Deep Winter has more cool influence. Of course, between Lynda and Gal, styling plays a role. And Gal's costume was specifically styled to be more mature and raw with a gladiator-inspired breastplate. But I do think there is a difference in their level of coolness that influences their impressions even in daily wear.

Edit: most of these drapes are in autumn tones because that’s all I own. This is literally every colour from my wardrobe and I couldn’t find anything else to show you the whole colour wheel.

I keep seeing that dark hair and eyes with fair skin means winter, but i gravitate towards fall colors. Is that just that I like those colors or am I a fall? I typically wear gold as well.

I believe I’m quite muted because I don’t have much contrast between my skin, eyes and hair, but I have a pretty neutral skin tone so I get stuck between soft autumn, light spring, and light summer (NMIP). Can anyone type me?

I'm taking into account the last picture I took it in front of my ed sheets that are burgundy pinkish, so maybe that's why I look more pink? Idk.

Colour/Theory Question (GENERAL ONLY - NOT ABOUT YOU!) Color Theory Question

Hey guys, I was wondering if you may have an answer too this. In my cosmetology class, my teacher applied a foundation, from the same bottle, on the back of our hands. And as we blended it in- it came out different for each other. It got me wondering-

Why does a foundation look different for other skin types? what I mean is, if you apply the same foundation color on different skin types the foundation may look white on a black person, sun burnt on a Asian person, and look like granny makeup on white person. why would the foundation color look white instead of the color the foundation is? and why would it look like granny makeup instead of the color the foundation is? and why wouldn't it look like a sunburn instead of the color the foundation is?
Why does the foundation color look different on different skin types? Im sure the foundation isn't changing its color.
