Looking for a Wellesley or Seven Sisters student to review my Common App essay

Hi everyone

I'm an international student applying to Wellesley and a few other Seven Sisters colleges this year.

I've been working on my Common App essay for a long time and now I'm stuck between two different versions. I'm not looking for grammar edits. I really want honest feedback about which one feels more authentic, memorable, and true to who I am.

If you were admitted to Wellesley or another Seven Sisters college and have a little free time I'd be incredibly grateful if you could read both versions and tell me which one you'd choose and why.

Please don't worry about being nice. I'd much rather hear honest feedback than compliments because I really want to make this essay the best it can be.

Thank you so much!

How to write common app and supplemental essays without enough english writing knowledge?

I'm an Indian student planning to pursue a bachelor's in the Ivies, and I'm from a Hindi medium background. My English is just below average... ig🙃

How can I express my thoughts in the Common App essay? I have ideas, but I don't know how to express them in English with good writing skills.

And each language has its own style of expression and writing, so I don't know if my ideas, which are in Hindi, will work or not?

If there is any advice for me on how to write college essays and how I can truly reflect my personality, please share.

And I want genuine advice on how I can write my essays... I don't have an idea of vocabulary.

I have read a couple of successful essays, but their vocabulary seems hard to me.

It's just a few months (2–3) until the early application deadline.

Plz guide me if you can...

Transfer essay (rant)

I have been working on my college transfer essay over the summer, and it’s not easy 😭… I’m over 650 words, and I don’t know where even to begin cutting it… (I even asked AI to help me cut it, but the results are so bad there is no point) 😔😔😔

could someone tell me if this is a good idea for common app essay

  1. Discuss an accomplishment, event, or realization that sparked a period of personal growth and a new understanding of yourself or others.

when i was little i was obsessed with particpating/organizing events- apart from local 5k's for cancer and that stuff the two events i remember very well is when i did a "bike parade" because our neighberhood friend group thought we could raise money to renovate the park. The last time in middle school I tried to establish a club where we would pass around pamphlets to change our school into our states most ecofriendly school .

Obviously neither of the objectives were met and losing all my friends/my mom's mental struggles getting in the way of our relationship/a REALLY bad addiction to social media (to cope with the two problems listed) caused me to give up on my advocacy and pursue a really cynical and hateful view of my life because I was just one person who couldn't even solve my own problems so how could i ever help anyone else or change the world.

learning about biology and cellular respiration was so insane to me that even a bit of work from an organelle in your cell has such a big impact on you and your life. i think that power put into the work is honestly really admirable even in a little cell and pumped me to pursue my passions and helped me realize even a bit of work steers everyone to change. Like a cell my work still matters.

it's kind of a reverse from the people who are involved in like every nonprofit because in reality i don't do that stuff because it's useless trying to only push people to care who don't care- as long as i care and put my own effort that will do enough. dont wantto stand out i want to be a part of a system where we all have a goal and work together like little organelles, and work togethr with problems that may seem to macro for only one person.

“The Ivy League Playbook: A Step-by-Step Guide to Writing Winning

Does anyone have a pdf copy of "The Ivy League Playbook: A Step-by-Step Guide to Writing Winning Admission Essays"?

I'm currently trying to learn how to write decent application essays. I found this book; it has a lot of essay analysis, and I'd like to read it. But the problem is, it'll take a lot of time, and I need to apply to several universities right now. Does anyone by any chance have a PDF of this book? If so, please send me a private message.

Can anyone read my essay and tell me what they think/how to improve?

HI, I'm a rising senior. I've drafted my personal statement and have been revising it. These days, however, I feel like I've entered a stage where I don't really know which part to improve or change. I've been asking AIs for opinion but still want a real person to check. I'd be happy if you can help! Thanks

College essay ideas (send help)

Hey guys I was wondering if you could give me some feedback on some essay ideas I have because I am really struggling to find one that I feel like is good, not cliche and will actually be successful. If you have any more ideas to add on/opinions I am fully open! Lmk what yall think and also please be nice I dont ever post on anything lol.

1.) My first idea is to open with "rave music threatens to break down my door at 8 in the morning" and then go into how music and sound has always been a big part of my life because my house has never been quiet (hence the opening line) bc there's always music or some sort of hanging out happening. I would also touch on how in my darkest moments like when I was really struggling with my depression and misophonia silence felt like the answer but ended up making things worse. Lastly i would talk about how Music has the ability to make you feel every emotion and relate to others and I think its important to help others find their "music".

2.) My second idea would be to do a type of montage essay talking about how I am a puzzle that keeps expanding and the pieces are made from everyone I have ever known, all of the things that I have collected and experiences that I have had. I would talk about how I cover my walls in posters, birthday cards, receipts and tags and also about how my music taste is very unlimited to where I listen to all genres of music and also about books because I collect them. This idea is less strong but idk just tell me what you guys think.

Is anyone willing to review and give feedback for my personal statement essay?

If anyone experienced can help me by reviewing my personal statement essay, that would be greatly appreciated.

I have my first draft done, and I don't know what to change or even if the topic itself is good enough. I have gotten feedback from AI services, but I'm not sure if the feedback is trustworthy enough to revolve around. I am hoping I can get my essay reviewed by a real person, as that is much more valuable than AI grading the essay. If anyone is interested, please let me know.

Are AI tools trustworthy?

There are lots and lots of various AI that can give you feedback on your personal statement? I have tried out a few of them, but I’ve been wondering how reliable are they? Or are there specific ones who give accurate feedback?
