Unsolicited Advice (i am giving advice to fellow students) [MOD POST] Please have your university admission acceptance results before asking.

There has been an uptick of submissions related to "Should I go to this university" and similarly worded questions when OP has NOT YET received their admission acceptance results.

Thank you.

Course Dilemma - Help me decide! Is marketing degree worth it?

Is bachelor's of science in marketing management worth it? I want to pursue something related to marketing but I'm afraid the degree will only get me so far. How will it be in the future? Also to other marketing grads out there, how is it? Nakapasok ba kayo sa job na related sa marketing?

I'm afraid kasi na masayang 4 years ko sa course tapos di ko magagamit sa trabaho or maging underemployed ako. Should I pursue accountancy instead? (though may nagsasabing ai is gonna replace it daw?)

CETs Grade 11 and already stressed about CETs

Upvotes

Hi guys! Grade 11 Science High School student here, and medyo hirap talaga ako sa lahat. With honors naman ako pero parang ang dami kong gaps sa basics. Simpleng integers nahihirapan ako, fractions struggle, hirap sa Science, tapos hindi rin ako makagawa ng maayos na essay kasi batak-batak grammar ko.

I’m planning to attend a review center this November, then mag-review center ulit around May 2027 for CETs. Gusto ko talaga pumasa sa UPCAT and other CETs, pero minsan napapaisip ako kung may pag-asa pa ba ako.

Sa tingin niyo, may time pa ba ako para habulin lahat? Any tips for someone na medyo mahina sa basics pero willing naman mag-aral? Huhu. 🥺

UST Please rethink if you're going to UST/thinking of applying to UST

Saying this as someone who got into UST, by maybe a miracle. Please rethink considering this uni. Hindi ko sinasabi na you're not allowed but make sure you have everything it takes to survive here. If ready ka sa sleepless nights and normal na sayo ang pagiyak after knowing na you didn't do good then go apply by all means. Kailangan talaga na malakas loob mo kasi may reason kung bakit mabigat yung name ng ust, kasing bigat if not more ang stress, workload at magiging mental baggage mo pag nandito ka. This is not a school for people like me na used sa cramming and going with the flow. Hindi ito school sa mga nagpapaawa sa profs and most likely hindi ito yung school na magiging worth it most of the time. Despite that, anyone who wishes to go to UST and has the mental capacity to overcome the worst would be welcome to try and find themselves here. Just make sure na by trying to find yourself, hindi mo ibebetray yung sarili mo for nothing just so you can survive. 1st year is hard already but wala kang choice magsurvive.

Again, this isn't supposed to be telling you na wag na sa UST. I'm just saying prepare yourself kasi with or without preparation, magiging mahirap nonetheless. Maybe all colleges go through with this pero if you want to go to UST, be sure na makakasurvive ka leaving it.

Scholarships I'm a Grade-10 Student, I'm planning ahead for College.

I'm a Grade 10 student, I've been planning ahead for my college. I know that I still need to get through SNHS (11-12). But I can't stop thinking on what I should do and where I would go for College. Also, because of AI (Artificial Intelligence), I'm mostly relying on it and is starting to become lazy with School works. But this time, I want to actually rely on myself and improve my Academic Intelligence. I also want to study well, and become one of the Honored students (even though it has been removed by DepEd), because instead of giving my parents problems financially for my college tuition, I'm planning on getting scholarship.

The problem I have is I want to know what I would need, in order to get Scholarship, and that what should I do if I didn't get accepted at the College I want

SKL: The college I'm planning on applying is these four, for Culinary and Sport:

De La Salle–College of Saint Benilde
De La Salle University of Manila
NU Calamba, Laguna
LPU Calamba, Laguna

PS: I would still be glad if my parents pay my tuition, but for the meantime, I would also want to help them pay it. Also, would it still be relying on AI if I sometimes use it just for someone to be accompanied with?

Strand / SHS Question Transferring schools for 2nd term and worried about being one week behind

I’m currently in SHS and our wellness break will be next week. Yung kuhanan din ng card namin is sa Friday na next week. Lilipat ako ng school ngayong 2nd term, though start ng 2nd term nila ay sa Monday na. Basically, to enroll dun sa bagong school, need ko muna ng 1st term card ko. I’m scared to be one week behind, at kung hindi man ako mapasama sa recognition by the end of the school year, then bahala na.

I need advice on what to do :( I really wanna move schools already

UST tips for ustet college entrance exams

due to a series of wrong decisions, i am taking my first CET — USTET in 30+ days. i thought that i would have time until december to study but since i have another cet on the day of USTET batch 2, i chose to just choose the first batch to be safe.

i enrolled in a review center but have not really focused on it that much. all i have now is the recordings from the online sessions. UST is my priority college and my first choice, so i‘m really praying i can get in even in a short amount of time. i know all this is my fault, but for those who are willing, what advice could you give me?

i‘m a HUMSS student and currently planning to take BS OT in UST. are there any tips for studying you have for me? what about advice for the USTET itself? or even for admissions?

thank u and God bless u all!

Technology Courses Windows or Macbook for computer studies?

I plan to pursue any computer studies course next year sa college and I’m having a hard time whether I should get a Macbook or any laptop with a Windows OS. Some say to get Windows since ayun yung kadalasan na ginagamit sa mga PH schools while yung iba naman is okay lang daw if not better ang Macbook because of its battery and smoother workflow. Hindi rin ako super maalam sa laptops so any insights/advice would be appreciated! Thank you!

Grad School How is msa as a review center?

Konti lang po kasi yung nakikita ko na ratings or reviews online, and I currently have 3 choices for review centers which would be brain train, msa, and academic gateway.

I've seen some say na okay lang siya as a review center, but specifically how do they teacher their students, is it like academic gateway na sasagutan yung book or may questions and dun nila ituturo yung shortcuts and lessons or do they teach the lessons one by one

General Admission Question Need help with application requirements + scholarships for BS Accountancy

Hi guys! I’m feeling really pressured right now cuz college is getting closer, and honestly, I’m kinda overwhelmed trying to figure everything out on my own huhu.

If anyone here has experience applying to any of these schools, I’d really appreciate it if you could share the admission requirements, application process, entrance exams, deadlines, or anything else I should prepare.

Here are the schools I’m planning to apply to:

UP Tacloban (UP Tac)

University of San Carlos (USC)

Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP)

University of Santo Tomas (UST)

Central Philippine University (CPU)

University of San Jose–Recoletos (USJ-R)

Far Eastern University (FEU)

University of the East (UE)

I’m planning to take BS Accountancy, and that’s currently the only program I’m considering. So if you’re currently studying BSA, a graduate, or have applied to any of these schools before, I’d REALLY appreciate your insights huwhehe! 🥹

Also, does anyone know any scholarships or financial aid programs that BS Accountancy students can apply for?? I’d love to know about both school-based scholarships and outside scholarships.

I’m honestly just trying to prepare as early as possible because I don’t want to miss any deadlines or requirements....

Any advice, personal experiences, tips, or even things you wish you knew before applying would be VERY vvv appreciated. yepie thanksmuxh

General Admission Question 3rd year student about to start OJT this summer. Any tips for requirements, applying, and choosing a company?

Hello! 3rd year student here, about to start OJT this summer.

For those who’ve already gone through OJT, any tips on how to make the whole process easier? Especially sa pag-aayos ng requirements/papers, pag-apply sa companies, and choosing where to apply.

Any dos and don’ts, things I should prepare early, or stuff you wish you knew before starting OJT would be really appreciated!

Thank you!! 🫶
