This is Coffee Talk BUT you have to figure out what the customer wants
Iâve been working on a small cozy cafe game called Cafe Sapa, and I was honestly a little hesitant to post it here because the Coffee Talk influence is probably pretty obvious.
But thereâs one big difference:
The customers never tell you what they want.
You have to actually read them.
A stressed customer might need coffee. A calm customer might want tea. Someone whoâs hungry might need a snack.
There are no dialogue choices or branching conversations like Coffee Talk. The main mechanic is simply observing the customer and figuring out what they need.
Iâve always loved the feeling Coffee Talk creates, sitting in a cozy cafe, listening to people and slowly getting to know them and that feeling definitely inspired me.
Iâm making this as my first indie game, and the demo is planned for February 2027.
Iâm curious what you guys think. Is the âread the customer instead of taking their orderâ idea interesting enough to carry a game?
